Issa Hentona (邊土名 一茶 Hentona Issa), better known under his stage name ISSA (イッサ), is a Japanese actor, singer, and dancer best known as the leader and main vocalist of the band DA PUMP. He has performed various theme songs for the Kamen Rider series, both as DA PUMP and by himself.

He portrayed SOUGO Tokiwa/Kamen Rider Barlckxs in Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer.


Hentona began attending the Okinawa Actors School from a very young age, though at the time he wasn't very interested in the performing arts, so he stopped going. At the age of 17, he picked up performing arts once again and re-enrolled, where he would eventually meet the rest of the DA PUMP members. As of 2008, he is the only one from the original four still active in the group.

At the age of 21, he landed his first lead role in the film Dream-Maker and also provided the film's theme song as well.

Later, he reiterated his love for the Kamen Rider series, which he performed the theme song to Kamen Rider 555.

  • Hentona was named after Kobayashi Issa, a famous Japanese poet best known as one of the pioneers for haiku poetry.
  • Hentona's celebrity crushes are Chisato Moritaka, Naoko Iijima, and Ko Shibasaki.
  • Growing up, Hentona was a fan of Masahiko Kondō and Hikaru Genji.
  • His favorite genre of music is rock.
  • He is childhood friends with Daichi Miura.
  • He married actress Sachiko Fukumoto in 2011, but they divorced in 2012. There was a rumor of a scandal that involved AKB48 member Yuka Masuda as the main reason for the divorce, but Fukumoto quickly shut down those rumors.
  • In 2018, he announced his marriage to a non-celebrity.
