Issa Hentona (邊土名一茶, Hentona Issa), better known mononymously as ISSA (イッサ), is a Japanese actor, singer, and dancer who has performed theme music for the franchise both by himself and with his band Da Pump. He also portrayed SOUGO Tokiwa/Kamen Rider Barlckxs in Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer.

Biography[]

Hentona began attending the Okinawa Actors School from a very young age, though at the time he wasn't very interested in the performing arts, so he stopped going. At the age of 17, he picked up performing arts once again and re-enrolled, where he would eventually meet the rest of the DA PUMP members. As of 2008, he is the only one from the original four still active in the group.

At the age of 21, he landed his first lead role in the film Dream-Maker and also provided the film's theme song as well.

Later, he reiterated his love for the Kamen Rider series, which he performed the theme song to Kamen Rider 555 and returned for its 20th anniversary film Kamen Rider 555 20th: Paradise Regained.

Personal Life[]

He is childhood friends with Daichi Miura, as they both attended dance school together.^[1]
ISSA was briefly married to actress Sachiko Fukumoto for a year, with a rumored scandal that was later debucked as a reason for their divorce. In 2018, ISSA had announced his marriage to a non-celebrity, and their first daughter was born in 2019.^[2]
As a child, ISSA became a fan of Kamen Rider through renting DVDs at a video shop. He stated that he is a fan of both the original Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider Kuuga.
He is part-Irish through a great-grandfather.
