History Modifying Machine

This article is about a Rider in Kamen Rider Drive.

The History Modifying Machine (歴史改変マシン, Rekishi Kaihen Mashin) was built by Shocker to alter the course of history, making its debut appearance in Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3. It housed the spirit of the Great Leader of Shocker. It can transform into Rider Robo (ライダーロボ, Raidā Robo) with the special ability of erasing Kamen Riders from history.

History[]

Conception[]

The idea of this machine first came in 1975 where Dr. Dee had found the method to rewrite history. But before any progress was made, his lab was destroyed in an explosion and he died in that accident. ^{[Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Vs. Kamen Rider Drive Spring Vacation One-Hour Combining Special]}

Creation and Test-run[]

Forty years later, Roidmude 089 transformed into a replica of Dr. Dee from the remains of his cells, using his vast knowledge of manipulating history to create the History Modifying Machine, starting with said Roidmude as a test product by bringing the Ninningers and the Kibaoni Army Corps to their world. This was actually undone by his destruction at the hands of Kamen Riders Drive and Mach and the Ninningers, allowing them to return to their world. ^{[Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Vs. Kamen Rider 3[]

Nonetheless, the machine still existed as Shocker used it to send Kamen Rider 3 to the past and defeated the Double Riders, thus allowing Shocker to gain global domination. After using Rider 3 as its engine, it transformed into the Rider Robo, where it was used to manipulate history again by erasing the Riders from existence but was later destroyed by Shurikenjin Tridoron, undoing the alterations to history. ^{[Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3]}

Kamen Rider 4[]

However, the machine was recovered and used to alter the timeline again, allowing Shocker to create Kamen Rider 4. It finally vanished along with the rest of Shocker after Takumi Inui defeated the Great Leader of Shocker. ^{[D-Video Special: Kamen Rider 4]}

World of OOO[]

The Rider Robo reappears in OOO's World, having captured Eiji Hino and scanned his data to develop a giant OOO Driver enabling him to use Combo Changes. He uses ShaUTa Combo to attack the Kougami 6500 submarine and steal its hoard of Cell Medals, then wreaks havoc in the city as LaToraTar Combo. He disappears just as Tsukasa Kadoya and Yusuke Onodera arrive, and transforms into SaGohZo Combo and kidnaps Hina Izumi and scales Yggdrasill Tower with her. Tsukasa and Yusuke attempt to save Hina but it's a trap, as Hina is actually Narutaki/Colonel Zol in disguise and has allied with Shocker.

The Rider Robo oversees the ensuing battle between Decade, Kuuga and the Neo Shocker Greeed and Jin Dogma Greeed. When the Greeed are defeated, the Rider Robo releases some Cell Medals to restore their bodies, and then helps Narutaki create the Badan Greeed. The Rider Robo then reveals its true form to the Riders.

Colonel Zol transforms into Golden Wolf-Man and tries to join the fight, but the Rider Robo orders him to stand down and commands the Greeed to change into Core Medals. The three Greeed do so and attempt to slot into his giant OOO Driver, but Daiki Kaito as Diend and the real Hina arrive and disrupt the transformation by flicking away the Badan Core Medal. Hina reveals that the Rider Robo captured Eiji and she's been trying to save him, and so the Riders concentrate their efforts on doing so to take away the Rider Robo's OOO Driver.

Eiji as Kamen Rider OOO is freed, however the Rider Robo still has his giant OOO Driver due to maintaining OOO's data. Wolf-Man sacrifices himself and seemingly dies to enable the Rider Robo to properly perform his Combo Change into NeJiBa Combo. The Riders determine that they can erase OOO's data by electrocuting the Rider Robo's computer, so they help Kuuga achieve Super Rising Ultimate Form and have him channel electricity into the Rider Robo's head through a Rider Kick.

The Rider Robo stops moving and the OOO Driver disappears, however he soon restarts and absorbs Diend, transforming into a gigantic Demonic Diend. The Rider Robo then uses Kaijin Rides to summon Rock Great Leader, King Dark, Neo Shocker Great Leader, and Skeleton Dinosaur. At that moment, Takatora Kureshima as Kamen Rider Zangetsu launches an army of Kurokage Troopers Suika Arms to fight the giants, many of which sacrifice themselves by entering the giants' mouths and blowing themselves up.

OOO obtains Legend TaToBa Combo thanks to Decade's help. The Rider Robo attempts to Kaijin Ride Fog Mother and Krais Fortress, but OOO prevents them and makes him drop his Diendriver. Decade, OOO and Natsumi Hikari as Kamen Rider Gaim Natsumikan Arms prop up the giant Diendriver and hook it up to a Suika Arms to act as a battery, and shoot electricity at the Rider Robo to shut him down again. OOO successfully rescues Diend, and all of the Riders plus Kuuga finally destroy the Rider Robo by kicking a Suika Arms through it like a soccer ball.

RiderRoboErasingJ — Rider Robo is erasing Kamen Rider J's existence

The Rider Robo (ライダーロボ, Raidā Robo) was the giant robot form of the History Modifying Machine, achieved by the machine using Kamen Rider 3 as its engine. It was controlled by the Great Leader of Shocker. The Rider Robo's design resembles that of the original series Riders, even including a Typhoon-like belt attached. With Rider 3 as its power vessel, it erased Kamen Rider J in Jumbo Formation from time, alongside several other Kamen Riders, but Rider 3 manage to increase his willpower to free himself to aid the remaining Riders, rendering the robot powerless to use the history alteration power. It was later destroyed by Shurikenjin Tridoron.

In S.I.C. Hero Saga, the Rider Robo appeared in the World of OOO. It hijacked Kamen Rider OOO and gained a giant OOO Driver which allowed it to transform into a giant OOO-like biological robot.
