Hayato Ichimonji (一文字 隼人, Ichimonji Hayato) is a young man who is kidnapped and turned into Batta Augment-02 (第2バッタオーグ, Dai Ni Batta Ōgu) by the organization Shocker. He fights for humanity as Kamen Rider No.2 (仮面ライダー第2号, Kamen Raidā Dai Nigō).[2]
After Ichimonji began using Hongo's helmet containing his prana sequence, he is referred to as Kamen Rider No. 2+1 (仮面ライダー第2+1号, Kamen Raidā Dai Ni Purasu Ichi-gō) in supplementary material.[3]

Before becoming a Kamen Rider, Ichimonji was a journalist. He is an easy-going man who is obsessed with incidents all over the world and jumps into dangerous places without a care in the world. Having traveled all over the world, Ichimonji knows many foreign languages and can make friends with anyone. As he continued to cover dangerous situations, he learned how to fight for his own safety. He also loves nature and animal photography, and has traveled through South America and Africa by motorcycle.[4][5]
He possesses the mental strength to maintain his own will even under Shocker's brainwashing, in which memories of despair are overwritten with euphoria.

Upon joining the Anti-Shocker Alliance, Ichimonji commissioned a new Cyclone along with a new suit. Honoring Hongo's wish, Ichimonji continues being the Kamen Rider.
Kamen Rider No. 2+1 consists of the following parts:

Notes
- Kamen Rider No.2's suit is a redesign of the original Kamen Rider No. 2 suit seen since Hayato Ichimonji's introduction of the original series, with additional detail that emphasizes on the Rider's cyborg nature whilst still remaining faithful to the original suit design. It retains some of its classic features such as the dark helmet, white lines on the suit, and the red Typhoon with shutters, while incorporating a mechanical design.
- Like the previous reimagining, Hayato Ichimonji is portrayed like his manga counterpart. He serves as a temporary enemy to Takeshi Hongo, before becoming his ally and eventual successor in the role as Kamen Rider.
