―Mach's pre-battle catchphrase[src]

Go Shijima (詩島 剛, Shijima Gō) is a freelance photographer and Kiriko Shijima's younger brother who transforms into Kamen Rider Mach (仮面ライダーマッハ, Kamen Raidā Mahha).

History[]

Background[]

Go Shijima was born in 1996 and the younger brother of Kiriko Shijima. Both siblings were raised by their mother, Sumiko Shijima, and did not know who their father was. Unaware to him, his father had done something bad to his wife, and leaving his family in a tragic life. After their mother passed away, Kiriko is the only family member whom Go deeply cares for as much as she does for him.

Go left Japan and resided in America, becoming a traveling cameraman. He met his best friend Ethan Woodward while taking pictures on a canyon cliff. While they continued to capture more images, Ethan was shot and killed by the mafia brothers, Gaff and Bean. Eager for revenge, Go learns they are Roidmudes and would later meet Harley Hendrickson. He was recruited by Hendrickson to test the Mach System. In America, he met one of Krim Steinbelt's Shift Cars, Amazing Circus, and chased Gunman and Bean to Japan, while abandoning his training.

Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Drive & Gaim: Movie War Full Throttle[]

Mach speaking to Mr

Mach speaking to Mr.Belt

Kamen Rider Mach's first appearance is during the Drive portion of Movie War Full Throttle. After the Drive Driver was damaged by Kamen Rider Lupin, Mach arrived at the Drive Pit at night. He rhetorically asking if Krim had already given up. Mach would then watch from the sidelines to watch Kamen Rider Drive defeat Kamen Rider Lupin and save his sister. It was later revealed that Go had installed a restoration program from the Mach Driver into Mr. Belt, allowing Mr. Belt to be fully operational again.

Terminating At Mach Speed[]

Upon his arrival in Japan, Go as Kamen Rider Mach mostly stayed in the sidelines to observe Kamen Rider Drive's battle against the Roidmudes. During Christmas Eve, he saved his sister from a Roidmude to allow Shinnosuke to defeat the revived Volt Roidmude. Go would later introduce himself to Shinnosuke, competing with him during a case. When Drive was facing off against the Gunman Roidmude, Go made his presence to both him and Kiriko as Kamen Rider Mach.

Back at the Drive Pit, Kiriko is visably angered that her brother became a Kamen Rider without her knowledge. Shinnosuke had grown irritated with Go for his insistence of calling him his "big bro". Furthermore, Go is willing to use Heavy Acceleration on a pair of criminals. Despite having a rocky start with the Special Investigation Unit as Go is extremely competitive, he eventually comes to work together with Shinnosuke to stop the Roidmudes.

Mach Vs

Mach vs. Mashin Chaser

Go eventually learns that Chase was the original Kamen Rider during Global Freeze. Despite this revelation, Go considered him the enemy and not any different from any other Roidmude. In order to combat the ongoing Roidmudes, Mach was later upgraded to Deadheat Mach to fuse parts with Drive. Go would become the primary user of Shift Deadheat while Shinnosuke would utilize Shift Formula. Feeling that he could be more stronger, Go initially insists on upgrading the Mach Driver to combat stronger Roidmudes, until he decided to focus on controlling Deadheat.

When Chase resurfaced and regaining his heart of justice, Go was vocally against joining forces with him, especially after Chase became Kamen Rider Chaser. He only became further isolated from the people around him, including Kiriko. Shinnosuke learns that Go's father is actually Tenjuro Banno, the creator of the Roidmudes, and Go has been carrying the burden. This causes him to be manipulated by Reiko Nishihori until the other Kamen Riders managed to stop him before he could do any harm to her. At night, Mach later battles Brain, only to stop when he discovered something in his tablet.

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Vs. Kamen Rider Drive[]

While taking pictures of an unknown phenomenon in the sky, Go Shijima comes into the presence of Kamen Rider 3, who challenges Mach to test his abilities. While Mach fought Rider 3, he was defeated by the latter and left elsewhere. Go manages to regroup with Shinnosuke, along with Kiriko and Takaharu Igarashi and informs them about the existance of Kamen Rider 3. Upon learning the mastermind behind the phenomena is Shocker, Mach aided Drive and the Ninningers in defeating the Shocker forces. After the battle and the Ninninger's departure, Go is still suspicious about who Rider 3 was and what's he up to. In the aftermath of this event, the world is suddenly engulfed by a green light.

Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3[]

After Shocker alters the timeline by sending Kamen Rider 3 back to 1973 to defeat the original Double Riders, Go manages to regain most of his most of his memories about what happened to the timeline after meeting Yuto Sakurai. After regrouping with Shinnosuke, they manage to bring in Kyoichiro Kuroi to their aid. On their way to Rider Twon, Go, Yuto, and Kyoichiro meet with Sakuya Tachibana to help rescue Kamen Rider Blade as Leangle and Chalice had become brainwashed Shocker Riders. The three Riders would soon realize it was a trap as both Garren and Blade were also brainwashed and managed to escape. Although they were later chased down by Takumi Inui, both Zeronos and Rider 3 manage to slip away while Mach handled Faiz. However, Takumi would later inform Go that Kyoichiro is still a Shocker Rider.

When Shinnosuke as Drive participates in a Rider Grand Prix to save Kiriko and Yuto from Shocker's clutches, both Mach and Faiz arrive to ensure Drive's victory by holding off the Shocker Riders during the race. Despite Drive's victory and Rider 3's change of heart, Shocker still persisted as the Great Leader of Shocker imprisoned Rider 3 into the History Modifying Machine as an energy source for the Great Leader's uses in a form of a giant mecha Rider Robo. While Mach and the Kamen Riders are subdued by the brainwashed Shocker Riders, Rider 3 and the Double Riders managed to break free from the Rider Robo, allowing the altered Riders to regain their original memories by the Double Riders' presence. The battle turned in favor for the Kamen Riders as they managed to vanquish Shocker's forces and destroy the History Modification Machine. However, Mach is overwhelmed by multiple monsters and killed in battle. He stays dead even with the timeline fixed, with Kiriko and Shinnosuke mourning his passing.

D-Video Special: Kamen Rider 4[]

The timeline is altered once again after the events of Super Hero Taisen GP, where time itself is stuck in a strange loop on April 4, 2015. Go is repeatedly killed over and and over again as Shinnosuke attempts to correct the timeline. His death is finally undone when Shinnosuke sacrifices himself to ensure Go's survival. It's later revealed that Takumi is the cause of the time loop that allowed Kamen Rider 4 to exist due to his strong wish not to lose any more people, and they are confronted by the Great Leader of Shocker himself, who has assumed Takumi's form. However, after defeating the Great Leader, Faiz sacrifices himself to prevent more time distortions from happening and destroying the History Modifying Machine, which reverts the timeline back to its true original state.

Operating Under The Dark[]

Following the encounter with Brain, Go had his memories seemingly tampered by Roidmude 001 to direct his hatred for Roidmudes to the Kamen Riders instead. However, Go had actually been unaffected by the Roidmude's memory manipulation ability and went undercover with the Roidmudes. Using the pseudonym Mr. X, Go sends vital information to the Special Investigation Unit.

"I kept the act up, because I needed this. This tablet contains programming with extensive information on the Roidmudes. Now that we have it, we might be able to wipe them all out at once. But.. in order to get this.. I let big bro Shin die. It happened so fast and I couldn't stop it."
―Go obtaining the tablet needed to destroy all of the Roidmudes[src]

What he didn't account for is Shinnosuke's death at the hands of Over Evolved Freeze. While Chase risks himself to save Go from his "brainwashing", Go blows his cover and steals Brain's tablet, containing the information on Roidmudes and the A.I. of Tenjuro Banno. After visiting his sister's home, Go sincerely apologizes for lying to his sister and provides her with a formula, calculated by Professor Banno's A.I. that could help resurrect Shinnosuke.

Starting after his double agent mission had finished, he became a loner and helped when in needed. But, this is only for Shinnosuke as after he saved Yukari and helped Shinnosuke and Chase, he told Chase that he was no friend of his. But, his time to be alone in peace was not able to hold for long as Heart finally caught him to take Brain's tablet.

During a battle with Heart, who has now achieved a Over Evolved, Kiriko suddenly got kidnapped by Tornado. The Kamen Riders are suddenly betrayed by Banno using the Ride Booster Red to keep Shinnosuke and Mr. Belt apart. In the woods, Heart revealed his past to Go and how Banno traumatized him to hate humanity. Despite Go's denial, Shinnosuke revealed to Go that according to Kiriko, Banno was never a good person. Finally realizing that his father is the true enemy all along, Go felt immense guilt of his father's manipulations.

Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future[]

After Kamen Rider Drive accidentally caused severe property damage, he was labelled as a wanted suspect by the Metro Police and Shinnosuke is forced to go on the run due to being caught between another incident with the future Rider, Dark Drive. While Go as Kamen Rider Mach is sent to bring Shinnosuke in, he fully realizes the situation that his partner is in after facing the Future Roidmudes. Mach joins with Drive and Chaser in defeating Dark Drive and his forces, with Deadheat Mach joining Drive Type Tridoron to seemingly destroy Dark Drive. Despite the victory, Mach suddenly gets attacked by the Krim-controlled Drive Type Tridoron and would've nearly died if it hadn't for Shinnosuke taking control. Go was later brought for medical aid afterwards.

During the final battle with Roidmude 108, Go arrived as Mach to give Shinnosuke a Signal Bike so he can move in the Heavy Acceleration. While Shinnosuke was in the process of reviving Mr. Belt, Mach faced against the Paradox Roidmude, but overwhelmed by his opponent's strength. Although he was forced out of transformation, Shinnosuke manages to bring back Mr. Belt and transforms into Kamen Rider Drive again, much to Go's happiness. He was present to witness Drive vanquishing Paradox Roidmude and ensuring the next future.

Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Chaser[]

Sometime after defeating the Paradox Roidmude, Go is shocked to discover Chase's expressing happiness and laughter, with Shinnosuke, Kiriko, and Mr. Belt reacting by accidentally spitting their drink in his face. While Chase left on a private day off, Go was further irritated by his rival's sudden change in emotions. Go followed Shinnosuke in a case where they found their Roidmude case suspect lying in the border between Tokyo and Futo and forced to deal with the Futo Police Captain, Ryu Terui, in which departments will append the suspect as he is also a suspect in a Gaia Memory case.

While they struggled to get answers from the Futo Police Captain, Go and Shinnosuke were forced to leave in order to help Chase. Ryu complemented them for following their duty as a Kamen Rider and promised them that he will hand over the case to Tokyo's Department in the end. It is later revealed that the suspect was really Roidmude 077 who used a Gaia Memory to become the Beast Dopant. Go, Shinnosuke, and Ryu transformed into Kamen Riders Mach, Drive, and Accel to defeat Roidmude 077. Mach and Drive later went to help Chase against the Angel Roidmude's halos, both were surprised over his new appearance. After Chase defeated Angel, Go learns that the former lost his emotions but change his "distain" towards his rival.

Father VS Son[]

"Then just what am I? What am I to you?!"
―Go's realizing his father's true colors[src]

Go became intent to take down his father Banno after he had turned into the Banno Driver. After Banno became Gold Drive, Go questions Banno about his actions, even not calling him his dad anymore. Go deciding to defeat Banno, furiously transforms into Deadheat Mach. However, even with the power of the Dead Zone, Banno still fights him without breaking a sweat and easily snatches his arsenal with ease. After losing to Gold Drive, Go is left humiliated and unable to continue fighting.

As Gold Drive proves to be a formidable foe to the Kamen Riders and Roidmudes, the heroes track Gold Drive on the forest lake, where Banno had the three executive Roidmudes to activate the Sigma Circular with him. As the Circular's absorption has started, Mach joins with the Kamen Riders to stop Banno from achieving his evil plan, but was too late, due to an interference of Banno's Roidmudes and 004 causing them to waste time.

"Are you blind? Don't you see the rage burning from within me? You've done so many things I could never forgive. You used me, you've brought shame on my sister, and you used Krim's inventions for evil. But... I absolutely cannot forgive you for taking the life of my friend!"
―Go's resolve to defeating Banno[src]
"("Wait a moment!")
Banno: Wait up, Go. You can't rob the world of my genius intellect!
("Good to go!")
Banno: Go...
Go: It said 'Good to go', didn't it?"
Banno: Wait, Go! Please! Please! Settle down! Stop it! Stop it, Go!
("Full Throttle!")
Banno: GO~~!
Go: Goodbye, Dad... with my own regrets."
―Go's moment for destroying Banno[src]
Go watching Chase die

Go cries out Chase's name as he witnesses his Core explode.

Mach later joins forces with Heart and Medic to stop Sigma. Despite his efforts, he is still overpowered by Gold Drive and is about to be killed. However, Chase takes the bullet to protect Go. As Go mourns Chase's death, he takes it upon himself to fight Gold Drive to avenge him, upon realizing how negligent and ignorant he was to accept Chase's friendship and how he treated Chase harshly like a jerk. He assumes Chaser Mach and is able to defeat Gold Drive while stopping Banno's reign of madness once and for all.

Ever since the Roidmude threat was eliminated, Go began to travel around the world, secretly taking Chaser's Signal Bike to try and revive his fallen friend, in hopes for a second chance to accept him. His nature and wildlife photography earned him a reputation as a legendary photographer.

Kamen Rider Drive: Final Stage[]

Type Dead Heat (Go)

Go returns as Kamen Rider Mach in the Kamen Rider Drive: Final Stage and helps Shinnosuke to fight against Roidmude 108. He later gain power from Shift Cars and transformed into Kamen Rider Drive Type Dead Heat.

Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie Wars Genesis[]

Go gives Shinnosuke Mach Driver and Shift Dead Heat

Three months after Krim sealed the Drive technology in the Drive Pit, Go would reunite with Shinnosuke and fought Kamen Rider Ghost, mistaking him for an enemy. He also gave him a Mach Driver Honoh and Shift Deadheat to fight as Dead Heat Drive. Although Mach and Drive fought Ghost and Specter, they managed to clear up the misunderstanding and defeat a Gamma Superior together. After Takeru Tenkuji was sent to the past with Shinnosuke, Go and the rest remained in the present to deal with the changed to the present as the Roidmudes have ressurected, including Chase. He would become aware of the Michelangelo Gamma and seemingly defeated him. As the timeline was restoring, Go sadly saw Chase fade away.

After Shinnosuke and Takeru returned to the present to battle, Mach joined with Kamen Rider Drive, Ghost, and Specter to fight the army of Gamma. Sometime afterwards, Go arrives to see his sister finally get married as he was present at Shinnosuke and Kiriko's wedding with the Special Investigation Unit and the Daitenku Temple watching over the married couple. Go remarked that Shinnosuke has really become his "big brother".

Kamen Rider Drive Saga 2[]

Go in Mach Saga

Go finally returns to Tokyo and begins researching ways to bring back Chase. He spends days working with Rinna and Kyu to build a new Roidmude body and a new AI Drive Driver. However during the resurrection process, he accidentally brings Heart back as well as Brain and Medic. Although their time was short lived after their sacrifice to become Kamen Rider Heart, Go still believed it was possible to bring Roidmudes back from the dead, still adamant on his quest to revive Chase one day.

"Chase, I found my answer. I will... see you again."
―Go's final narration[src]

As he remained in contact with Reiko Nishihori since her time in prison, Go stood in her probation hearing and testified in her favor, deciding to support her release. When he trying to confess his feelings to Reiko after her release, Go's flashy way of appreciation ended up turning her off. While Go decided to try again, he ended up learning Reiko is involved in the Copycat Criminal case. Still believing in her innocence, he manages to uncover the truth that Roidmude 005 has resurrected and manipulated Reiko into believing that he was her father. As Go fought Roidmude 005, the latter evolved as the Revenger Roidmude and nearly defeated Mach. Go refused to give up and in response, an image of Chase hands him the Shift Ride Crosser to transform into Kamen Rider Mach Chaser, allowing him to completely vanquish 005 once and for all. The next day, Go reunites with Reiko at a park and ride together with his Ride Macher. After the trip is done, Go is about to leave when Reiko kisses him. Thinking to himself, Go says to Chase that he finally found his answer and that they will meet again someday.

Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Brain[]

Go KRDSB

As of 2019, Go continues on his quest to revive Chase and manages to partially restore the data of Heart, Brain and Medic. This inadvertently causes Brain to have a dream about himself becoming a Kamen Rider. It is also revealed that Go is working on a new model of Core Driviars known as Neo Core Driviars.

Kamen Rider Climax Fighters[]

Kamen Rider Mach appears as a playable character, with access to all forms, except Chaser Mach and Mach Chaser. His Rider skill is Zutto Mach, which grants him a speed boost, allowing him to match up with Faiz Axel Form, Kabuto's Clock Up, Accel Trial Form, and Drive Type Formula. His Evolution is Deadheat Mach, rather than Chaser Mach, similar to how it was his Strongest Form in Battride War: Genesis.

Personality[]

Go has a very impulsive and outgoing personality, whose hyperactivity may have worsened during his time in America. He is also very intelligent, which coupled with his robust physique, makes him a very capable detective. He is also pretty competitive, as seen with him challenging Shinnosuke to find and finish Gunman. A freelance cameraman himself, Go has a habit of picturing any nearby couples either intentionally or not. He teasingly refers Shinnosuke only as "Big Bro Shin" (進兄さん, Shin nīsan), referencing the latter and his sister's affections for one another, which annoyed Shinnosuke at first but nevertheless got used to the nickname as Go saw him as a older brother figure.

He has a flair for drama and is also quite the jester. Despite being entirely capable of subtlety, he prefers to make his entrance in a proud, flashy manner, going so far as to call his sister to his debut battle in Japan, just so that she can witness how cool he is. These traits ultimately resulted in him liking to rush into danger.

Go has a catchphrase that goes, "Tracking, terminating, both done at Mach speed! Kamen Rider Mach!" (追跡、撲滅、いずれもマッハ!仮面ライダーマッハ!, Tsuiseki, bokumetsu, izure mo mahha! Kamen Raidā Mahha!)

In his battles with the Roidmudes, he likes to repeat his introduction of himself whether he starts fighting, even though he has said it in Episode 12 already, presuming to show off the coolness of himself. However, as shown in Episode 14, in his first fight with Roidmude 096, he is so determined to finish his introduction that he gives the Roidmude a chance to attack him, and even escaping. In his next encounter with him and Roidmude 069, he skipped it and goes straight to the fighting part. He fixed this problem afterwards in future episodes by saying it really fast.

For all of his bluster, however, Go is also a realist, ready to use any means to defeat his enemy, even considered himself much of a monster as the ones they fight due to the fact that both the Kamen Riders and the Roidmudes use Core Driviars as the source of their powers. And also, he bears the pain of taking the responsibility of what Dr. Banno, who in fact is also his father for the corruption of Roidmude.

He does have a serious side, especially when it is to protect his sister from danger. He has a big hatred to the Roidmudes that's near fanatical in belief, hating even Chase, despite the android's return to his normal heroic persona. His sense of justice seemed to have altered due to his time in America, having suggested that they should kill Taga when he fused with 007 into the Sword Roidmude, and came close in killing Reiko out of rage when she was revealed to be the Seeker Roidmude when she manipulated him into a trap.

His hatred for Roidmudes is so great that he even went so far to say that Chase is just the 109th Roidmude, ignoring his past heroics as Protodrive or his return as Kamen Rider Chaser. In Episode 22, even when Chase temporarily got back to his original settings during the time he was brainwashed by Medic, he still doesn't budge, continuing his thoughts about all the Roidmudes are evil, unaware that it was all her plan to lure Drive out. However, he does show a little bit of sympathy to Roidmude 072 back in Episode 20, but those feelings were only temporary once. After his mission to save Banno, he revealed that he is no friend of Chase but not attacking him. This proves that Go will only attack the Roidmude whenever they make a ruckus and never be their friend. But later on, he is more friendlier to Chase, after he sacrificed himself for Go, feeling that he treated Chase like a jerk without giving him a chance.

Because Go is too young to understand about what kind of father Banno was like, he thought Banno cared for his family, until in his adult life, finally seeing his father's true colors behind the Roidmude crisis on letting them run wild, and become the true enemy of humanity. While this revelation hits him hard, he ultimately vowed that he would destroy any threats to humanity, even if it was his own father. This was later shown after Brain's death in sacrificing his life to save Medic from Sigma Circular sacrificial, Mach finally sees his father is indeed an absolute devil for the cause of Roidmudes' madness and has no heart in considered anything around him just as mere subjects, just like what Krim, Heart and Kiriko warned about Banno.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Resistance to Memory Manipulation: Just like Shinnosuke, Go has shown to have resistance to Freeze's memory manipulation, though he pretends to be manipulated to get closer to the Roidmudes and steal Brain's tablet containing the consciousness of Professor Banno.

Abilities[]

  • Peak Human Condition: He has a very athletic physique - a trait he shares with his sister.
  • Master Acrobat: He easily demonstrates acrobatics way above that of average human's, shown to be able to somersault over tall walls, hand-standing for minutes on end, jumping from a tall tower to a roof over a great distance, then landing safely on his bike.
  • Skilled Combatant: To be added
  • Expert Marksman: To be added

Forms[]

Some of Kamen Rider Mach's Signal Bikes alter the suit based on a certain attribute, whereas other Signal Bikes arm him with a certain element or weapon, by changing the Kourin Signal (コウリンシグナル, Kourin Shigunaru, lit. "Rear Wheel Signal") on his right shoulder for a Signal Exchange (シグナル交換, Shigunaru Kōkan). These two types of Signal Bikes can be used in conjunction with each other. Mach can also use Kamen Rider Drive's Shift Cars for the same effect through a Tire Exchange (タイヤ交換, Taiya Kōkan). Unlike Drive's Tire Exchanges, Mach's stats are not altered when his Kourin Signal changes from initiating a Signal or Tire Exchange.

By hitting the Boost Igniter on the Mach Driver Honoh between one and four times, Mach can activate the special ability of a Signal Bike or Shift Car currently placed within the Driver. After raising the Signal Landing Panel, pressing the Boost Igniter, and pushing the Signal Landing Panel back down, Mach can unleash a Full Throttle (フルスロットル, Furu Surottoru) finishing move.

Kamen Rider Mach's theme song is entitled "Full Throttle".

Rider Statistics[1]
  • Height: 205.5 cm
  • Weight: 96.6 kg
Ability Parameters[1]
  • Punching power: 9.7 t.
  • Kicking power: 16.7 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 40.3 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 2.4 sec.

Accessed through the Signal Mach Bike, Mach's default motorbike-based form bears the Signa Kourin (シグナコウリン, Shiguna Kourin). Like Drive, Mach is able to create intense Heavy Acceleration distortions through verbal command.

In this form, Mach has serious power, punching and kicking harder than Drive's type Technic Braver and Gravity, as well as type Wild (though not Types Wild Dump and Wild Wrecker), can jump higher than Drive, and is almost as fast as type Speed when Drive goes at full speed. Mach also has the ability to hover in the air for a short period of time by jettisoning power through well-hidden vents along his thighs.

By hitting the Boost Igniter four times, Mach is able to summon his Zenrin Shooter. If he does so while already having the Zenrin Shooter on hand, he instead gains the ability to accelerate at an incredible running speed. This speed is enough to follow and fight against Faiz Accel's speed, as shown in the movie Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3Icon-crosswiki. It is also proven that he can use this ability without summoning the Zenrin Shooter first.

Kamen Rider Mach consists of the following parts:

  • V-Helm (∨-ヘルム, Buī-Herumu): The high-performance helmet that protects the head. By opening the visor part, energy is expelled and rapidly cooled, avoiding internal energy overflow and overheating.
    • V-Radar (V-レーダー, V-Rēdā): The high-precision enemy search device. It forms a pseudo-radar dome on its head and functions as a three-dimensional radar that covers a wide area.
    • Air Head Intake (エアヘッドインテーク, Ea Heddo Intēku): The intake device. The air taken in helps cool various devices. It also captures energy in the air and uses it as operating energy.
    • Elude Stream (エルードストリーム, Erūdo Sutorīmu): The streamlined armor that protects the head is made of several types of compressed alloy plates stacked one on top of the other. By forming a smooth defensive field on its surface, it has the ability to parry bullets and energy attacks.
    • Armor Progress (アーマープログレス, Āmā Puroguresu): The armor that covers the sides and back of the head. The latest type of shock absorbing material is sandwiched between the wearer and the armor, and by changing its hardness depending on the situation, it absorbs and nullifies all impact damage. It's equipped with a wide-area sound collection device, which works in conjunction with various sensors to perform high-precision enemy search.
    • Mach Symbol (マッハシンボル, Mahha Shinboru): The information gathering device. It integrates data read by various sensors on its head and suggests the fastest way to defeat the enemy. It works in conjunction with the R-Emblem on the chest to assist in adjusting the output of each part of the body.
    • Multi Goggle Eye (マルチゴーグルアイ, Maruchi Gōguru Ai): The visual sensor. It's equipped with highly sensitive sensors to enable it to adapt to high-speed combat. Information such as detected heat source reactions and motion reactions is summarized so that Mach can understand it at a glance, and displayed inside the helmet in real time.
    • Innovate Visor (イノベイトバイザー, Inobeito Baizā): The visor that protects the face. It uses a newly developed clear material that can reflect energy attacks. To avoid internal energy overflow, the visor can be opened to forcefully exhaust the entire body's energy. as well as being the manual off-switch to his Heavy Acceleration abilities.
    • Composite Face Guard (コンポジットフェイスガード, Konpojitto Feisu Gādo): The composite armor that protects the face. It uses a new type of compressed alloy that can withstand direct hits from high-explosive bullets, ensuring that no damage is done to the wearer inside.
    • Shutter Face Guard (シャッターフェイスガード, Shattā Feisu Gādo): The intake and exhaust system. A high-performance air filter inside the device is responsible for removing impurities from the air taken in. The temperature and humidity inside the helmet are adjusted by air intake and exhaust to maintain a comfortable internal environment.
  • Signa Kourin (シグナコウリン, Shiguna Kourin): The tire mounted the right shoulder. It amplifies the energy generated by the drive engine by rotating the internal device at high speed. When exchanging signals, a graphic icon representing the Signal Bike's abilities is displayed.
  • Defend Lefter (ディフェンドレフター, Difendo Refutā): The shoulder armor equipped on the left shoulder. A small built-in gravity control device approximately negates the impact of physical attacks.
  • Neo Ride Protector (ネオライドプロテクター, Neo Raido Purotekutā): The reinforced chest protector. A high-power shield deployment device is built into the protector, and by deploying a shield over the entire body, Mach's defense power is greatly increased.
    • NEX-Core Driviar (NEX-コア・ドライビア, Nekusu-Koa Doraibia): The new model gravity drive engine that powers Mach. It is responsible for generating Mach's operating energy, and can also use the rotation and vibration of the engine to emit waves that cancel out Heavy Acceleration. By releasing the limiter of the Heavy Acceleration control device, it is possible to cause Heavy Acceleration along with the light emission of the chest.
    • R-Emblem (R-エンブレム, Āru-Enburemu): The circular emblem with the letter "R". It aggregates Mach's body data in real time and automatically adjusts energy distribution throughout the body.
    • Blast Muffler (ブラストマフラー, Burasuto Mafurā): Two flexible stabilizers are installed on Mach's shoulders. As Mach moves, the entire stabilizer swings as if waving in the wind, maintaining the balance of the entire body. The stabilizer is filled with liquid metal, and the internal movement of this liquid metal finely adjusts the balance of the center-of-gravity, stabilizing behavior during high-speed battles and when performing special kicks.
  • Body Cowl Armor (ボディカウルアーマー, Bodi Kauru Āmā): The armor that covers the front of the body. The surface is coated with particles that diffuse energy attacks. By using a highly compressed hardened alloy material, it has both durability and flexibility.
  • Mach Riding Suit (マッハライディングスーツ, Mahha Raidingu Sūtsu): The protective suit that covers the surface of Mach's body, and has the ability to bring out the physical abilities of the wearer beyond their limits. It reduces the recoil damage to the transformer due to Mach's tremendous power.
  • Shooter Exgear (シューターエクスギア, Shūtā Ekusugia): The attack correction device attached to the right arm. It is linked to the Zenrin Shooter and has the role of fine-tuning Mach's movement when shooting. It has the ability to release the energy charged inside the device and deploy a defensive shield.
  • Evolve Limiter (エヴォルブリミッター, Evorubu Rimittā): The control brace attached to the left wrist. It constantly monitors the transformer's biological data and damage situation, and sets limits on maximum power output and activity time. The limit can be extended by improving the system or by training the wearer's own body.
  • Haste Glove (ヘイストグローブ, Heisuto Gurōbu): The reinforced armored gloves. It is possible to cover the entire glove with high compression energy and deliver a sonic punch accompanied by a shock wave. Special fibers are used in the palm, allowing data communication and energy transfer through contact with the glove.
  • Smasher Plate (スマッシャープレート, Sumasshā Purēto): The reinforced knee armor. The joint strengthening function speeds up the movement of the knee part, making it possible to perform high-power knee kicks.
  • Advanced Leg (アドバンスドレッグ, Adobansudo Reggu): The reinforced leg strength armor. Multiple high-performance suspensions built into the armor maximizes the power and explosiveness of the legs, allowing for powerful kicks and high-speed movements.
  • Active Fast Boots (アクティブファストブーツ, Akutibu Fasuto Būtsu): The reinforced armored boots. It uses high-performance grip parts with excellent ground contact, enabling rapid acceleration to reach top speed in an instant and stable high-speed combat. It is possible to concentrate highly compressed energy on the soles of the feet and perform a deadly acceleration kick that reaches the speed of sound.

Mach's Full Throttle finisher is the Kick Macher (キックマッハー, Kikku Mahhā), where he gathers energy into his feet, then runs forward and jumps up. Afterwards, Mach somersaults like a buzzsaw, spinning until he reaches the target. Just before he makes contact, Mach extends a foot out to strike the target.

Ability Parameters[9]
  • Punching power: 15.3 t.
  • Kicking power: 23.7 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 36.5 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 3.2 sec.

Deadheat Mach (デッドヒートマッハ, Deddo Hīto Mahha) is Mach's motorcycle and sidecar-based form, which has the physical characteristics of both his and Drive's Rider Systems. Accessed through the Shift Deadheat Car, this form bears the DH-Kourin (DH-コウリン, Dī Eichi Kourin, short for/lit. "Dead Heat Rear Wheel"), as well as the type Deadheat Tire (タイプデッドヒートタイヤ, Taipu Deddo Hīto Taiya) across Mach's torso. This form debuts in episode 17.

In this form, Mach has greatly increased punching and kicking power, though he loses a bit of his maximum jumping height and running speed as a result. It also allows him to function in a Super Heavy Acceleration field, but with the drawback of his ability parameters being significantly reduced.

Mach's special ability in this form is being able to emulate Heart's Dead Zone (デッドゾーン, Deddo Zōn) state by hitting the Boost Igniter four times, which raises his combat capabilities to an incredible degree while western acoustic guitar music plays as accompaniment. Compared to Heart, Deadheat Mach's Dead Zone ability is superior. However, using this ability can overload Mach's Rider System if the DH-Kourin's meter redlines. Once the system maxes out and the type Deadheat Tire's treads burst, the operator will lose control over their actions.

After Go restores faith in himself, he is able to control this form's Burst state by repeatedly hitting the Boost Igniter until the reading on his DH-Kourin maxes out, which significantly boosts his stats, making him just as powerful as Drive's type Formula. He also gained enough power to expel poison from the Shoot Roidmude's enhanced attacks. Alternately, he can access the Burst state without repeatedly hitting the Boost Igniter.

Deadheat Mach consists of the following parts:

  • M-Burnmet (M-バーンメット, Emu-Bānmetto): The high-performance heat-resistant helmet that protects the head.
    • V-Radar (V-レーダー, V-Rēdā): The high-precision enemy search device. It forms a pseudo-radar dome on its head and functions as a three-dimensional radar that covers a wide area.
    • Signal-M (シグナル-M, Shigunaru-Emu): A blue line-shaped sensor that keeps track of Mach's own condition. It has a function that checks the damage and operating status and transmit it to the Mach Symbol.
    • Elude Stream Armor (エルードストリームアーマー, Erūdo Sutorīmu Āmā): The streamlined armor that protects the head is made of overlapping compressed alloy plates with excellent impact resistance.
    • Multi Goggle Eye (マルチゴーグルアイ, Maruchi Gōguru Ai): The visual sensors. It's equipped with highly sensitive sensors to enable it to adapt to high-speed combat. Information such as detected heat source reactions and motion reactions is summarized so that Mach can understand it at a glance, and displayed inside the helmet in real time.
    • Face Intake (フェイスインテーク, Feisu Intēku): The intake and exhaust system. The cooling air filter inside the device is responsible for removing impurities and excess heat from the intake air.
    • Composite Guard Panel (コンポジットガードパネル, Konpojitto Gādo Paneru): The composite armor that protects the face. By layering a new type of compressed alloy that can withstand direct hits from high-explosive bullets, it prevents damage to the wearer inside.
    • Frame Head Wing (フレームヘッドウィング, Furēmu Heddo Wingu): The aero parts. It generates a downforce throughout the body and accelerates Mach's movements. It plays a role in controlling the flow of excess heat generated throughout the body.
  • DH-Kourin (DH-コウリン, Dī Eichi-Kourin): The tire mounted the right shoulder. It generates a huge amount of operating energy and heat by using the superheating activator in Shift Deadheat. The high-output energy generated circulates at high speed throughout each part of the body, increasing all functions to the brink of their limits. The circular monitor provides a visual representation of the system's operating status, and when the meter reaches the red zone, Mach goes into a Burst state that is difficult to control.
  • Thermal Deflector (サーマルディフレクター, Sāmaru Difurekutā): The shoulder armor equipped on the left shoulder. It has the ability to control the flow of excess heat generated from the entire body and reuse it as a thermal attack. It also has a movement assist function using electromagnetic force, which instantly increases the strength of the shoulder, making it possible to produce fast and powerful punches.
  • Blast Cowl (ブラストカウル, Burasuto Kauru): The heat-resistant chest armor made of a special alloy. It has a mechanism that rotates the tires attached to its chest. Its surface layer has the ability to accumulate heat, and by releasing heat energy, it can increase the explosive power of its special moves.
    • type Deadheat Tire (タイプデッドヒートタイヤ, Taipu Deddo Hīto Taiya): The standard specification tire that is equipped when Kamen Rider Deadheat Mach transforms. It regulates the flow of energy that circulates throughout the body at high speed, and adjusting so that the functions of each part are uniformly strengthened. When the durability limit is reached, the tires burst, making it difficult to control the behavior.
  • Body Cowl Armor (ボディカウルアーマー, Bodi Kauru Āmā): The armor that covers the front of the body. The surface is coated with particles that diffuse energy attacks. By using a highly compressed hardened alloy material, it has both durability and flexibility.
  • Heat Riding Suit (ヒートライディングスーツ, Hīto Raidingu Sūtsu): The heat-resistant protective suit that covers the surface of Mach's body, and has the ability to bring out the physical abilities of the wearer beyond their limits. It concentrates the heat accumulated on its surface into its arms and legs, allowing it to perform ultra-heated fighting attacks.
  • Shooter Exgear (シューターエクスギア, Shūtā Ekusugia): The attack correction device attached to the right arm. It works in conjunction with the Zenrin Shooter and has the role of fine-tuning attack movements.
It is possible to cover the entire glove with high compression energy and deliver an ultra-high heat punch accompanied by a blast wave.
It is possible to concentrate high compression energy on the soles of the feet and deliver a deadly super high-temperature kick.

Deadheat Mach's Full Throttle finisher is the Heat Kick Macher (ヒートキックマッハー, Hīto Kikku Mahhā), which resembles his original Kick Macher, but with a lot of red and blue energy as Mach spins until he comes in for the kick. The finisher becomes more enhanced when Deadheat Mach is in Burst state.

  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 3.2 sec.

Deadheat Mach (デッドヒートマッハ, Deddo Hīto Mahha), designed to be an upgrade for Mach (and by extension Drive as well), combines aspects of both Riders. Because of this, Deadheat Mach can utilize both Signal Exchanges and Tire Exchanges, a feat that Drive cannot perform. Instead of changing permanently, the DH-Kourin or type Deadheat Tire respectively is briefly replaced with the new Kourin Signal or Shift Tire before reverting back to normal after usage. It is shown that is possible to utilize a Signal/Tire Exchange while currently in the Dead Zone. By doing so, it is assumed to potentially boost Deadheat Mach's capabilities to a greater extent.

Signal Exchanges
  • Kaksarn - Allows Deadheat Mach to fire scattered shots from his Zenrin Shooter. Used in episodes 23 and 24 both against the Shoot Roidmude.
  • Magarl - Allows Deadheat Mach to fire curved shots from his Zenrin Shooter. Used in episode 23 against the Shoot Roidmude.
  • Tomarle - Allows Deadheat Mach to stop targets by shooting them with his Zenrin Shooter. Used in episode 39 against a Over Evolved Heart Roidmude, although Deadheat Mach's DH-Kourin wasn't shown changing into the Kourin Signal Tomarle.
Tire Exchanges
  • Naorl (Mad Doctor) - Deadheat Mach is equipped with the Mad Doctor Tire (マッドドクタータイヤ, Maddo Dokutā Taiya) and is armed with the Cure Quicker, allowing him to treat anyone who might be wounded at the cost of bearing with excruciating pain. Used in episode 24 by Kiriko to heal Go after being poisoned by the Shoot Roidmude.
  • Arabull (Rumble Dump) - Deadheat Mach is equipped with the Rumble Dump Tire (ランブルダンプタイヤ, Ranburu Danpu Taiya) and is armed with the Rumble Smasher, allowing him to overpower foes with extra strength if needed. Chaser Mach (チェイサーマッハ, Cheisā Mahha) is Mach's hybrid final form, which is an amalgamation of himself and Kamen Rider Chaser. Accessed through the Signal Chaser Bike, this form's appearance is a mix of Mach's upper half and Chaser's lower half.

To access this form, Mach has to insert Signal Chaser into his Mach Driver Honoh after utilizing Signal Mach in a similar manner to how he activates a Signal Exchange Bike. Once initiated, a portion of Chaser's armor parts envelop Mach's body while remnants of his own armor parts are left behind.[12] This form is not listed under Mach's configurations and blueprints for his forms, catching Gold Drive by surprise upon seeing it.

In this form, Mach's abilities skyrocket beyond that of the individual abilities of his and Chaser's, allowing him to easily fight and overwhelm Gold Drive whereas even Drive in type Tridoron and the individual Signal Bike Kamen Riders could not faze him. During the battle against Gold Drive, Chase's Viral Cores assist Mach by allowing him to resist Gold Drive's paralysis. Chaser Mach serves as one of the most powerful forms in the entire Drive series with the strongest punching power.

Chaser Mach's Full Throttle finisher is the Chaser Mach End[13] (チェイサーマッハエンド, Cheisā Mahha Endo), which Chaser Mach focuses power into his body, making it glow purple as he jumps up into the air, and does the very same sort of Chaser End that Kamen Rider Chaser does, with holographic versions of Chaser appearing by his behind, the holographic Kamen Rider Chaser and Chaser Mach then destroys the enemy at same time.

This form debuted in Drive Episode 46 and is later used in Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Mach Dream Story, where it is a fusion of Go and Chase in a similar vein to Kamen Rider Double.

Mach Chaser (マッハチェイサー, Mahha Cheisā) is Mach's hybrid extra final form, accessed through the Ride Crosser Shift Car.

This form was achieved due to his battle against the Revenger Roidmude, by way of te spirit of Chase, who appeared as Kano rode a truck in, holding the Shift Ride Crosser car, and asking him to protect Reiko.

This form's Full Throttle finisher is the Chaser Kick Macher (チェイサーキックマッハー, Cheisā Kikku Mahhā), the Rider Kick which is simillar to Deadheat Mach's Heat Kick Macher, where Mach Chaser focuses power into his right leg, making it glow blue then rainbow as he slams into the enemy with a Flying Side Kick without spinning in the air.

Super Deadheat Mach (超デッドヒートーマッハ, Chō Deddo Hīto Mahha, lit. "Super Deadheat Mach") is Mach's form accessed through the Shift Viral Core based on Chase's Rhino Super Viral Core.

In the Mach Saga novel, the form is described to be a white version of Super Mashin Chaser with Mach's head and Chaser's orange eyes.

It is presumed this form's stats exceed that of Chaser Mach, as it was able to fight on par with the Revenger Roidmude, which was said to be far stronger than Gold Drive which Chaser Mach had defeated.

This form is exclusive to Novel: Kamen Rider Drive: ~Mach Saga~.

All versions of this type bear a Shift Tire across Drive's torso, as well as the DH-Kourin (DH-コウリン, Dī Eichi Kourin, short for/lit. "Dead Heat Rear Wheel") on his right shoulder. While either changing Shift Cars or entering the Dead Zone state, suspenseful chase music with squealing tires as accompaniment plays. Unlike Mach, even though type Dead Heat bears a Kourin Signal, the DH-Kourin does not change into a different one whenever Drive initiates a Tire Exchange.

  • Kamen Rider Mach (仮面ライダーマッハ, Kamen Raidā Mahha)[14]

Family[]

Relationships[]

Love Interest[]

  • Reiko Nishihori: Go's girlfriend who suffered the same family problems as him. She wanted nothing to do with Go at first, but came to her time and time again. Roidmude 005 reappears manipulating her, until Go uses Chase's power with his once again to end Revenger once & for all for Reiko's sake.
  • Chase: in Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Mach Dream Story, Go realizes that all this time he has had a crush on Chase.

Behind the Scenes[]

Portrayal[]

Go Shijima is portrayed by Yuu Inaba (稲葉 友, Inaba Yuu). As Kamen Rider Mach, his suit actor is Jun Watanabe (渡辺 淳, Watanabe Jun). This is his second time suit acting for the Secondary Riders. The first was Kamen Rider Beast. Watanabe would later become the main suit actor for Secondary Riders starting with Specter.

Etymology[]

  • The kanji used for Go's given name is borrowed from Takeshi Sasaki (佐々木 剛, Sasaki Takeshi), the actor who portrayed Hayato Ichimonji/Kamen Rider 2. This choice was made because their given names can be pronounced as either "" or "Takeshi." Furthermore, the production staff have acknowledged Go is also named after Go Mifune (三船剛, Mifune Gō), the Japanese name of Speed Racer.[15][16]
  • Similar to Kiriko, his surname is derived from the word Shijima (静寂), which means "stillness" or "quiet". This intentional choice was made to complement before the name "Go."[17]
