Geats Extra: Kamen Rider PunkJack (ギーツエクストラ 仮面ライダーパンクジャック, Gītsu Ekusutora: Kamen Raidā Pankujakku) is a TTFC
-exclusive web special serving as the first installment of Geats Extra within the continuity of Kamen Rider Geats. The special explores the background of the Desire Grand Prix's operations and how Win Hareruya became a member of their staff as Kamen Rider PunkJack.
Production[]
The special was first announced during the second day of the Kamen Rider Geats: GOLDEN DESIRE NIGHT stage-talk show, alongside Geats Extra: Kamen Rider Tycoon meets Kamen Rider Shinobi. A trailer for the special was released, announcing that both Tsubasa Sakiyama and Shugo Oshinari would reprise their roles as Win Hareruya and Girori respectively.
On May 13, 2023, the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club Twitter account revealed the poster for the special, as well as the inclusion of two new riders.[1]
Plot[]
The story opens with Win narrating about how he used to be in the DGP and how he was killed by the Game Master Girori by becoming a suicide bomb... or so it seemed. Win wakes up in the hospital, badly injured but still alive, with Niramu arriving to check on him and explaining that he saved him from what would have been certain death, providing him with the PunkJack ID Core. Touching the ID Core, Win started to revise his past.
Before he joined the DGP, Win was part of a rock band called Weather Hearts, but grew frustrated with the lack of progress compared to contemporaries. He disbanded the group while the wife of member Hiroki Amamiya was pregnant. It was then that his grandfather told him to earn his keep by joining the DGP staff.
Duties on the DGP staff included making ID cores and pursuing DGP players who attempt to escape the game. One such incident caused him to confront Hiroki, who had joined the DGP as Kamen Rider Bucchii to wish for Weather Hearts's success. Defeated by the Keibi Riders, Hiroki was forced to fight the Jyamato again, while Win breaks the rules to save him from the Jyamato. After being saved, he decided to give up and was eliminated from the game.
Win later encounters Hiroki cleaning the auditorium Weather Hearts had performed in, void of any interest in music. Win asks Tsumuri to give Hiroki his dream back, but Tsumuri explains that's impossible because a player's "spark," or desire, is transferred to their ID Core, which is then used to allow the Desire Goddess to grant the winner's wish.
Time flies to the present during the Daybreak Arc, when Girori was preparing for the final round, Win was called by his superior, Kazuki, who plans to gather the staffs to overthrow the Game Master so that they can grant their own desire by collecting some ID Cores in beforehand, including Hiroki's Bucchii ID Core. When Geats defeats the Last Boss in Jyamar Area, Girori disguised as a concierge in the saloon witnessed his victory when Kazuki leads Win and others to start their crusade. Girori rejects Kazuki's demands, but the staffs ignores Girori's words and transform into Keibi Riders, with Win watching at one side. Appearing to have no choice, Girori gives the PunkJack ID Core and Beat Buckle to Win. Not wanting Hiroki's desire being misused, Win decides to help Girori and transform into Kamen Rider PunkJack and defeats the Keibi Riders, But, Girori suddenly appears and transform into Glare, controlling all the betrayed Keibi Riders. After the incident, Girori started to have Win to monitor Ace, as Ace's desire and actions has started raised he doubts.
In the present day, Niramu explains that a lot has changed while Win was unconscious and asks if he'll fight again. Win agrees but says it won't be as the DGP's pawn; he will choose what he puts his life on the line for.
