The gavv (ガヴ, Gavu) is an organ found in members of the Granute race.
Overview[]
The gavv is a secondary mouth located on the abdomen of a Granute. The gavv's tongue can be extended to great lengths and grasp objects. The members of the Stomach Family are also able to create Agents from their gavvs. Dente Stomach has created a number of surgical modifications that can be performed on gavvs to give the Granute new abilities. He first modified part-timers working for Stomach Inc. to be able to transform humans into Human Press when their gavv's tongue is wrapped around them. Dente then enabled Granutes to adopt a human disguise inserting a device called a Mimic Key (ミミックキー, Mimikku Kī) into their gavv. However, the gavv still remains visible when in human form. Each Mimic Key corresponds to a certain disguise, so a single Granute can adopt multiple human forms by using different Mimic Keys. When the Mimic Key is removed, the Granute reverts to their original form. Whereas part-timers insert the Mimic Key directly into the lower jaw of their gavv, the members of the Stomach Family use a separate device that can be worn as a belt. They are able to phase either their gavv or the belt through their clothes. After Dente departed to the human world, Nyelv Stomach succeeded him and is now responsible for performing the modifications of part-timers.
Shoma's gavv is unique and referred to as the Red Gavv (赤ガヴ, Aka Gavu) within the Stomach Family.[1] Unlike his siblings, Shoma was unable to create kin due to his half-human nature. At the request of Bouche Stomach, Dente modified it in hopes of giving him this ability. However, he still was not able to do so, leading to the operation being deemed a failure. After coming to the human world, Shoma discovers that he can create his kin, the Gochizos, by consuming human snacks and can use the Gochizos to transform into Kamen Rider Gavv.
