Kamen Rider Gaoh is the only Kamen Rider in Kamen Rider Den-O to only have one form, called Gaoh Form (ガオウフォーム, Gaō Fōmu), and no Imagin partner (similar to Zeronos Altair Form). It is visually based on a crocodile and is similar to Den-O Sword Form. Upon transforming, Gaoh says "I will devour everything!" (全員、俺が喰ってやる!, Zen'in, ore ga kutte yaru!).
Gaoh Form is composed of the following parts:[3]
- DenKamen (電仮面, Den Kamen, lit. ‘Electric Mask’): The bronze overall crocodile-like mask. It is a mask dedicated to Gaoh Form. It allows for both sight and hearing.
- Gator Scan Eye (ゲイタースキャンアイ, Geitā Sukyan Ai): The eyes. It can see in a wide angle within a wide range. It can distinguish human faces up to 5km away and objects as close as 0.05mm. It also has a night vision function, allowing Gaoh to see targets up to 1km away in the dark thanks to infrared irradiation.
- Gator Horn (ゲイターホーン, Geitā Hōn): Antennae 'crocodile jaws' on top of the Gator Scan Eye. They catch air vibration waves and convert them into electrical signals, allowing Gaoh to hear wide range of sounds from 40Hz to 100,000Hz ultrasonic waves.
- O Signal (Oシグナル, O Shigunaru): The red sensor on the forehead. Allows Gaoh to detect Imagin within a range of 2km.
- Gator Breast (ゲイターブレスト, Geitā Buresuto): The chestplate. It is made out of Aura Armor (オーラアーマー, Ōra Āmā), and can alleviate 10 tons of impact.
- Gaoh Rail (ガオウレール, Gaō Rēru): A rail-shaped mold that resembles a crocodile's mouth, that runs vertically on the chest. It has the same shape as the rails on Gaoh’s head, and is used as a track for whenever the DenKamen moves.
- Aura Skin (オーラスキン, Ōra Sukin): The bodysuit. It can be considered Gaoh’s ‘skin’, and an aura covers it. It has excellent defensive capabilities and reduce currents of 500 volts as well as mage caused by diamond-hard cutting edges.
- Gaoh Gauntlets (ガオウガントレット, Gaō Gantoretto): The forearm armor that stretches to the back of the hands. They are a type of Aura Armor that allows Gaoh to withstand shocks from executing special attacks. They are also effective when delivering punches of 7 tons, or when using knife-hand strikes.
- Wrist Bangles (リストバングル, Risuto Banguru): Golden bracelets around the wrists. They enhance the energy dissipation effect of the mind and body, improving the secretion of adrenaline, therefore improving athletic ability and as a result improves punching force.
- Gaoh Cuisses (ガオウキュイス, Gaō Kyuisu): The thigh armor. As Kamen Rider Gaoh, they take on a bronze coloration.
- Gaoh Poleyns (ガオウポレイン, Gaō Porein): The knee armor. Increases destructive power of knee kicks.
- Gaoh Greaves (ガオウグリーブ, Gaō Gurību): The shin armor. They are a type of Aura Armor that protects the shins from any attack.
- Ankle Bangles (アンクルバングル, Ankuru Banguru): Golden anklets around the ankles. They have the same effect as the Wrist Bangles.
- Gaoh Sabotons (ガオウサバトン, Gaō Sabaton): The feet. They are a type of Aura Armor that protects the insteps.

Behind the scenes[]
Portrayal[]
Gaoh was portrayed by the late Hiroyuki Watanabe (渡辺 裕之, Watanabe Hiroyuki). He previously played Akio Ishimuro, the commander of XIG, in Ultraman Gaia, and Taiga Saezima in Garo (series). As Kamen Rider Gaoh, his suit actor was Yoshifumi Oshikawa (押川 善文, Oshikawa Yoshifumi).
- Watanabe, at 51, was the oldest individual to portray a Kamen Rider during filming until Takanori Jinnai, who was 54 when he portrayed Kamen Rider Sorcerer in Kamen Rider Wizard in Magic Land. Tsurutaro Kataoka, who portrayed Jun Honganji in Kamen Rider Drive, was 60 when his character transformed into a Mass Production Model Mach.
Notes[]
- Gaoh is the first movie Rider to appear in three TV series episodes.
- Similar to several other major villains in Kamen Rider Den-O (such as Kai, Shiro, and the Oni brothers) Gaoh's origins have remained a mystery, with no offical information being given by Toei. Therefore, Hiroyuki Watanabe created his own interpretation on the matter to use when portraying Gaoh[4]. In said interpretation, Gaoh once had a son who died at the age of five, something which devastated Gaoh. Since the timeline did not allow Gaoh to overturn this tragedy, he sought revenge in turn, being driven mad with grief.
- Kamen Rider Gaoh was originally supposed to be reused with Kamen Rider Diend Complete Form but his suit was retooled for Kamen Rider Yuuki. Despite this, Yuuki never made it as one of Diend Complete Form's cards.[Citation needed]
- In Kamen Rider Wizard, Amadum briefly dressed as Gaoh at one point, paying homage to him as a fellow villain.[Neverending Story]
