Gaim Gaiden: Kamen Rider Gridon VS Kamen Rider Bravo (鎧武ガイム外伝 仮面ライダーグリドンVS仮面ライダーブラーボ, Gaim Gaiden Kamen Raidā Guridon VS Kamen Raidā Burābo) is a two-episode TTFCIcon-crosswiki-exclusive miniseries that serves an additional installment of Kamen Rider Gaim Gaiden, set within the continuity of Kamen Rider Gaim. In the special, Jonouchi and Oren investigate the reappearance of the Helheim's Fruits in Zawame City.

Synopsis[]

Several years after the events of Kamen Rider Gaim, Jonouchi has become a world-renowned pastry chef, but gains a bounty on his head set by Takatora Kureshima. With Jonouchi growing more and more popular by the day, a concerned Takatora approaches Oren Pierre Alfonso, while the mysterious Kamen Rider Sylphi lurks in the shadows...

Continuity and Placement[]

  • This special takes place after the events of the novel, which Bravo and Gridon have regained their Sengoku Drivers, and also after Zangetsu: -Gaim Gaiden-, which Zangetsu possesses the Shin Kachidoki Lockseed in hand.

Plot[]

Hideyasu Jonouchi is now a world-renowned pastry chef, with Masako Suzuka working as his secretary. Meanwhile, Oren Pierre Alfonso has returned to his former mercenary life. One day, he is contacted by Takatora Kureshima, who orders him to take down Hideyasu, as he is apparently using mutated Helheim's Fruits for nefarious purposes. Oren comes to see Hideyasu as he admits to using a new kind of fruit for his sweets, which makes the mercenary thinks that the allegation is true. Furthermore, Oren is briefly attacked by a silent Kamen Rider Gridon. Therefore, Oren sends a challenge letter to Hideyasu, which he gladly accepts, thinking that he has surpassed his master in patisserie.

At the meeting point, Oren attacks and tries to kill Hideyasu. When Oren transforms into Kamen Rider Bravo, a Helheim vine suddenly emerges and turns him into a mindless Bravo Kingdurian Arms. The mysterious Gridon appears and fights Bravo, much to Hideyasu's confusion. Masako tells Hideyasu to run away, but he insists that he must save his master, so he runs after the fighting Riders. While Bravo is distracted and runs after some nearby workers, the mysterious Gridon reveals himself to be Takatora and that he is using the pastry chef to lure out the true mastermind. He gives his Sengoku Driver and Donguri Lockseed to Hideyasu, allowing him to transform into Gridon on his own to stop the rampaging Bravo.

As Gridon fights Bravo, Masako watches outside. Takatora approaches the secretary and exposes her as the true culprit. Masako transforms into Kamen Rider Sylphi and fights Takatora, who transforms into Kamen Rider Zangetsu Kachidoki Arms. As the two battles occur at once, Gridon is defeated and knocked out of transformation by Bravo, with his Donguri Lockseed being destroyed. After Hideyasu fails to beg Bravo to come to his senses, Sylphi's nearby attack accidentally drops a Helheim's Fruit in front of Hideyasu. Although he is wearing a Sengoku Driver, the fruit does not change into a Lockseed as Hideyasu hopes, so he decides to eat it instead. However, before he can have a bite, he is stopped by the spirit of Ryoji Hase, who turns the fruit into a Lychee Lockseed. Hideyasu transforms into Gridon Lychee Arms and defeats Bravo, freeing him from the rampage. Zangetsu also defeats Sylphi. Before disappearing, Sylphi says this is not over and his battle will go on forever. Zangetsu calmly acknowledges it and thinks that is how it should be.

While carrying Oren back on his back, Hideyasu asks him to come back to train him, and Oren gladly accepts.

Errors[]

  • The stand-by loops for Bravo and Zangetsu continue to play even after the cutting blades were brought down.
  • When Takatora de-transforms as Gridon, the suit actor attempts to close the Donguri Lockseed cover but evidently misses, so it looks like he's just touching the Lockseed instead.

Notes[]

  • Instead of featuring Lockseeds and Armored Riders' logo as background, the closing screens merely features "To be continued..." and "End" in green placed at the bottom corners.
  • Pre-orders for the release of both Gaim Gaiden: Kamen Rider Duke and Gaim Gaiden: Kamen Rider Knuckle granted buyers access to vote for the lead stars of the next potential Gaim Gaiden. The options were Ryugen, Gridon, Kurokage, Bravo, Sigurd, Marika and Gaim, with both Gridon and Bravo leading the polls by the time it closed.
  • This is the first "double-feature" Gaim Gaiden to have both representing Riders in one cohesive story as opposed to two different stories.
  • This special marks the third official appearance of Zangetsu Kachidoki Arms, though this is the second time Kubota is present to play his character assuming the form itself, and this special marks his first on-screen opportunity doing so. The form first appeared in the Zangetsu stage show, and later the film Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer.
  • On the same day the first episode premiered, preorders for the Complete Selection Modification Sengoku Driver became available, with the new Lockseeds appearing in this special to be released at a later date as the Lockseed Charmant Set.
