The Freeze Roidmude (フリーズロイミュード, Furīzu Roimyūdo), known simply as Freeze (フリーズ, Furīzu), originally Roidmude 001 (ロイミュード００１, Roimyūdo Zero Zero Ichi), and still referred to as 001 by the others, was one of the original trio of Roidmudes along with 002 and 003.
Shortly after his creation, he assumed the form of Soichi Makage (真影 壮一, Makage Sōichi), a rogue secretary of the National Bureau of Defense (国家防衛局, Kokka Bōeikyoku), proceeding to establish a strong position in the political world. This alias allows him to keep an eye on the police forces, as well as Kamen Rider Drive when the Roidmude's case had been brought up. It was only after Shinnosuke Tomari discovers the truth and confronts "Makage" that 001 reveals himself and finally accesses his evolved form.
He was also the creator and developer of the Neo Viral Cores.

Background[]
The vacant bodies of 001 and 003 prior to their installation of negative emotions by Banno.
Freeze, originally designated as Roidmude 001, was the first amoung Roidmudes produced by Dr. Tenjuro Banno. When development for the Roidmudes hit a dead end, Krim Steinbelt provided Banno with the Core Driviars, enabling the Roidmudes to have the capacity to evolve. After Krim parted ways with Banno, the mad scientist proceeded to install negative human emotions into the Roidmude models, starting with the vacant bodies of 002 and 003. Vowing that their kind would evolve to surpass Banno and humanity itself, the Roidmudes killed their creators Banno and Krim after their awakening.
Roidmude 001 later assumed the human guise of Soichi Makage, where he was promoted to role of secretary of the National Bureau of Defense, establishing a strong position in the political world. Eisuke Tomari, a veteran police officer, had suspected Makage for manipulating the police forces from inside and confronted him. Although Freeze used his memory alteration ability on Eisuke, he was stunned as it did not work on him. While Freeze fought Eisuke as a last resort in order to silence him, it was also during this moment where he gained the emotion of humiliation, but decided to spare him for a while.
Makage later set up a South Eisuke Bank by luring Eisuke with some clues. While the robbery occurred, Eisuke's partner Mitsuhide Nira quietly infiltrated the bank and knocked out one of the robbers. Roidmude 001 would witness the jealous Nira shooting Eisuke from a distance and decided to conceal the event from her public's memories while forming a pact with Nira. The firearm used to shoot Eisuke was later hidden by a forensic expert, before Makage concealed his memories as well. After the robbery, he falsified a national pandemic in 2005, coordinating vaccinations to the Japanese residents in order to collect the medical records of those who could potentially resist his memory manipulation.

During Global Freeze, the 108 Roidmudes emerged and launched an attack on humanity which would be known as the Global Freeze, but were defeated by Protodrive. But eventually, Brain, Heart, and Freeze managed to gain the upperhand against Protodrive. After capturing Proto-Zero, Roidmude 001 picked up the Drive Driver containing Krim Steinbelt's consiousness, gloating their victory. From there, he worked together with Heart and Brain to experiment on Proto-Zero, stripping him of his memories and free will with the new persona known as Chase. Following this, he continues to oversee the nation's police activities while keeping the public in the dark regarding the Roidmudes and the Heavy Acceleration.
The Roidmude Infiltrator[]
Several months following Global Freeze, Krim had chosen Eisuke Tomari's son, Shinnosuke Tomari, as the latest incarnation of Kamen Rider Drive and had become a thorn in the Roidmudes since then. Freeze would be contacted by Brain after being bested by Medic multiple times. He accepted his call for help by providing the Roidmudes with his latest inventions, the Neo-Viral Cores which can enable the Roidmudes to evolve by fusing with the intended human so they can fuel themselves with their darker heart.
Makage entrusted Mitsuhide Nira to look after the Special Investigation Unit so that he may able to destroy Shinnosuke Tomari and the Kamen Riders from within. As Roidmude 001, he continues to oversee the progress of the Fusion Roidmudes and making his presence hidden from Drive for the time being. He even employed Brain in the police force under the alias of "Sou Noumi" to further cause more trouble with Shinnosuke. After taking notice of Go Shijima's connection with Tenjuro Banno, Freeze manages to rewrite his memories so he can serve the Roidmudes instead.
While Shinnosuke was investigating the circumstances that led to Eisuke's death, he discovered from Chase's memories that Makage was Roidmude 001 the entire time. While Shinnosuke attempts to arrest Makage, the latter transforms into the Freeze Roidmude and attempts to erase Shinnosuke's memories. However, like his father, Shinnosuke inherited the same resistance to his memory manipulation ability.
Freeze in his Over Evolved Form
The Special Investigations Unit would later discover the facility holding 001's victims and thwarted his plans. This led to a battle would ensued and Freeze battled Kamen Rider Drive until he was defeated by Drive Type Formula. But this defeat only intensifies his humiliation and, with his Core intact, achieves the Over Evolved State and reconstructed himself in a new body. Using his newfound power, Freeze was able to swiftly kill both Shinnosuke and Krim. Freeze would embrace his enlightened state and encourages his fellow Roidmude executives to reach their ultimate evolutions; all except Heart who refused to do things Freeze's way after he murdered Shinnosuke.

Upon becoming aware of the Special Investigation Unit's attempt to revive Shinnosuke and Krim, Freeze arrived to put an end to them once and for all. Fortunately, the both of them were revived through the creation of Shift Tridoron. The both of them transform into Kamen Rider Drive Type Tridoron and were able to overpower the Over Evolved Freeze. Once weakened, he was hit with a Trailer Impact by Drive Type Tridoron, destroying his body and sending his Core into the sea. In his final moments, Freeze resurfaced and revealed that he wasn't the one who claimed Eisuke Tomari's life before his Core exploded.

Soichi Makage's identity as Roidmude 001 was later made public by both Mitsuhide Nira and Sou Noumi as part of an deception to frame the Special Investigations Unit for colluding with the Roidmudes. In said plan, his image was used as the murderer of Eisuke Tomari. This deception was soon be exposed by Shinnosuke following the confrontation with Nira and Brain.

The ghost of the Over Evolved Freeze later returned along with the Sword Roidmude and the Thief Roidmude, emerged through a dark portal and attacking Shinnosuke in a dream he experienced during a near-death experience. However, Shinnosuke was saved by Kamen Rider Ghost, who fought the three Roidmude spirits, quickly vanquishing them with his Gan Gun Saber.
The 108 Roidmudes' fragmented data would lead to the emergence of the amalgamation Roidmude 5886.
Although not specifically mentioned, presumably the "real" Soichi Makage was put into protective custody along with other humans who had been copied by the Roidmudes in light of the emergence of Roidmude 5886 who been attacking such people. [Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Heart]
Personality[]
Freeze's attire when he is not busy with political matters.
As the first Roidmude to be created, 001 is wise, cunning and manipulative. As shown, he had planned from the beginning to join the police forces and promoted to the secretary of National Defense Agency, in order to weaken them so Roidmudes can continue their global domination. He even can simply use his memory manipulation to conceal certain criminal activities from police forces that may had been related to Roidmudes. 001 is also supportive of Brain, willing to help him after his comrades slowly reject him (Medic bested him multiple times with Heart continuing to favor her more than Brain). Even if he is one of the first trio of Roidmudes and among the single numbered ones, he refuses to take leadership of his kind, passing it to the other generals all while he oversees the police forces' activities, mainly because he likes working in the shadows.
Freeze claims that his special emotion is "humiliation (which causes his rage)", which he discovered upon confronting Eisuke, and intends to use his son as a key to complete his evolution.

The Core is the basic essence or 'soul' of the Roidmude. Following his evolution into the Freeze Roidmude, 001's body was briefly destroyed by Kamen Rider Drive Type Formula's Trailer Impact before managing to immediately recreate it and reach his Over Evolved form. By amplifying his emotions of humiliation to the maximum, Freeze is able to restore his body without the aid of a Viral Core and evolve into his Over Evolved Roidmude form. This is indicated by yellow accents over his body. This state of evolution is more powerful than the standard Advanced Roidmude form and the Fusion Evolution State achieved via Neo Viral Cores, and it is powerful enough to even destroy Drive in a single blow. However Freeze was utterly destroyed in this form by Drive's Type Tridoron.

Roidmude 001 is portrayed by Masami Horiuchi (堀内 正美, Horiuchi Masami). As the Freeze Roidmude, his suit actor is Masaru Obayashi (大林 勝, Ōbayashi Masaru)
Etymology[]
In his human identity's name, the Kanji Makage (真影 lit. "The true shadow") signifies him as the wirepuller while Ichi (一 lit. "One") reflects his designation number.
