The Transformation Belt Typhoon (変身ベルト タイフーン, Henshin Beruto Taifūn) is Takeshi Hongo/Kamen Rider 1's transformation belt, an advanced piece of technology with a white leather strap and single piston in the center.
In its original form, the Typhoon was unusable without an external power source, proving useless for Hongo in confined areas. Thus, Hongo needed to expose his Typhoon Belt to strong gusts of wind in order to transform, typically while riding his Cyclone motorcycle. After Hongo's "evolution" though, this weakness was remedied.
Later, from being upgraded into "New" 1, the Typhoon's strap changed into a red color, similar to Hayato Ichimonji/Kamen Rider 2's belt.
Like the Double Riders, most Shocker Inhumanoids possess a Typhoon as well, if concealed by the Shocker emblem buckle.
Design[]
The Typhoon is composed of the following parts:[1]
- Energy Converter (エナージ・コンバーター, Enāji Konbātā): A device that stores the energy converted by the Converter Lung in the chest. When the energy is depleted, Kamen Rider cannot maintain his Kamen Rider state and cannot transform again.
- Cyclone Guidance Device (サイクロン誘導装置, Saikuron Yūdō Sōchi): A guidance device that can control the Cyclone even from a remote location.
- Wind Turbine Dynamo (風車ダイナモ, Fūsha Dainamo): A device for receiving wind pressure as a source of energy. The wind causes the internal windmills to rotate, sending the wind power to the Converter Lung in the chest.

In Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai and Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis, Hongo's Typhoon belt has a shield much like Rider 2's belt, which would remain shut until he transforms.
In Kamen Rider 1 film, Hongo's Typhoon belt is similar to Super-1's Cyclode belt in design, given his form as Kamen Rider "Power Up" 1. When Hongo died, this Typhoon was able to absorb the energies from the flames of his pyre, somehow reviving him.

In the Pachinko Kamen Rider: Go-on video game, the next generation Typhoon belts used by Go Owaza and Shun Rikido appear to be separate transformation devices which can be equipped on externally.
Double Typhoon[]

The "Kamen Rider No.1 Typhoon" (right) and "Kamen Rider No.2 Typhoon" (left) powers were combined to charge the Double Typhoon, Kamen Rider V3's transformation belt.
By activating the Double Typhoon's two pistons, Kazami converts the accumulated wind energy to transform into Kamen Rider V3. The combination of the Double Riders' Typhoons allows V3 to utilize both the "Skill" of No.1 and the "Strength" of No.2.
Decadriver[]

When Kamen Rider Decade used his KamenRide Card to disguise himself as 1, the Decadriver took on the appearance of New 1's Typhoon belt, unlike other Kamen Rides where the Decadriver is still present. It changed back when the "Typhoon" was struck by Captain Marvelous

Typhoon Buckle (タイフーンバックル, Taifūn Bakkuru): Allows any of the Geats Riders to access 1go Form. It is based on Kamen Rider 1 and his transformation belt, the Typhoon.[2]
