The Transformation Holy Sword Dogouken Gekido (変身聖剣 土（ド）豪剣激（ゴウケンゲキ）土（ド）, Henshin Seiken Dogōken Gekido, lit. "Earth Master Sword Fierce Earth") is the transformation device and personal weapon of Kamen Rider Buster.

In episode 8, Saber temporary wielded Dogouken Gekido when its user was turned to stone. Saber later returned it. Much later, it was stolen by Sabela and given to Master Logos to use. It was later taken back by its user after Touma thwarted Master Logos' plan.

Design

The Dogouken Gekido is composed of the following parts:

• Mainstay Hilt (メインステイヒルト, Meinsutei Hiruto): The handle. It functions as a heart pillar (心柱, kokoro-bashira) that penetrates through and supports the interior of the Dogouken Gekido's armor, which already boasts tremendous defense power. Due to this, an anti-vibration characteristic is added, further raising the durability of the entire sword, increasing the attack hit rate. The bottom is decorated with Buster's emblem.
• Gekido Trigger (ゲキドトリガー, Gekido Torigā): The trigger. When triggered, the Dogouken Gekido reads its user's intentions and initializes Rider Finishers, generating earth-shattering power.
• Gekido Shelf (ゲキドシェルフ, Gekido Sherufu): The area of the Dogouken Gekido where a Wonder Ride Book is placed in. In addition to drawing power from the Wonder Ride Book and transmitting it to the Seiken, it also brings various abilities to the "Sword Robe" (Buster's bodysuit).
• Daigekizin (ダイゲキジン, Daigekijin, lit. "Great Fierce Blade"): The amber-colored blade section. It has been sharpened by holy sand over several years, and the blade has the ability to increase its sharpness when it hits harder targets; the harder the target, the sharper it becomes.
• Gekido Soul (ゲキドソウル, Gekido Sōru): The blade's dark grey base/structure. It is a blade that can carry wisdom. By pressing a Wonder Ride Book against the Shingan Reader, the Dogouken Gekido can embody and hold its contained lore for attacks. Additionally, the blade's armor, which boasts absolutely high defensive power formed by metamorphism due to extremely high pressures, and structure, which is designed to disperse external force, enables the user to wield the large Dogouken Gekido.
• Shingan Reader (シンガンリーダー, Shingan Rīdā, lit. "Mind's Eye Reader"): The reading device located atop the Gekido Shelf. By pressing the special speed-reading metal fitting Spireader located on the back cover of a Wonder Ride Book against it, the Dogouken Gekido can read the book's lore. As a result, it becomes possible to temporarily hold all the power of the Wonder Ride Book's lore in the Seiken for finishing attacks. Additionally, attack power can be stacked when a Wonder Ride Book is pressed against it several times.

Functionality

Transformation

To transform, the user plugs a Wonder Ride Book into the slot on the side of the sword, thus making the user appears in a library surrounded by rocks. The user then pull the trigger, summoning a rock formation that took resemblance of a turtle shell before performing a downward vertical slash to crush the rocks. The rocks in questions later manifest as both the armor and visor, thus completing the transformation. By removing the inserted book and repeating the process with a different one, Buster can enhance his armor without cancelling his transformation.

Finisher

To activate a finisher, the user scans a Wonder Ride Book book in the slot located above the hilt before pulling the trigger. The scanning can be done up to three times.

This finisher has four variations:

• Rocks from the surrounding gather onto Dogouken Gekido, enlarging the sword to a massive size. Light orange energy then covers the blade before Buster performs an enhanced downward slash.
• Rocks from the surrounding gather onto Dogouken Gekido, enlarging the sword to a massive size. Buster then charges the sword with orange energy and performs a horizontal slash.
• With a second copy of Dogouken Gekido, Buster performs an orange energy slash with both swords simultaneously.
• Rocks from the surrounding gather onto Dogouken Gekido before transforming into a giant orange energy construct of the sword, which Buster uses to perform a downward orange energy slash. Buster then swings Dogouken Gekido, now in its normal state, launching a horizontal energy slash.

Yellow electricity gathers on the blade, as Buster thrusts the blade into the ground, and a large quill forms around Dogouken Gekido, enlarging the sword and generating electricity on the blade part allowing Buster to perform an enhanced blade thrust.

Domame Dai Dandan (土豆大断断, Domame Dai Dandan lit. "Earth Bean Grand Judgement Cut"): Green energy surrounds Dogouken Gekido before it is transformed into a large beanstalk, which Buster swings into the ground, crushing any enemies underneath it. Smaller vines then grow out of the main stalk and attack any surrounding enemies.

Portrayal

The Dogouken Gekido is voiced by Akio Otsuka (大塚 明夫, Ōtsuka Akio), who has voiced various characters in Super Sentai, including Hades God Dagon in Mahou Sentai Magiranger and Champ/Oushi Black in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger. The vocal section is provided by singer Eizo Sakamoto (坂本 英三, Sakamoto Eizou).

Etymology

The name part of the sword, Gekido (激土, Gekido), is a play on a Japanese word with the same spelling, "激怒", with means "rage" or "fury".

Notes

• Although the prop version of Dogouken Gekido is the largest weapon wielded by a Kamen Rider in the franchise, the DX toy is roughly the same size as the Hinawadaidai-DJ-Ju Taiken Mode.
• The script that were written on the Dogouken Gekido has meaning and significance:
  • Strike down with a giant sword of earth! (巨大な大地の剣で薙ぎ晴れ!, Kyodaina daichi no ken de nagi hare!).
• Production-wise, a flat cutout of the Dogouken Gekido is used in place of the actual prop in fight scenes due to its size.
