The Transformation Belt Demons Driver (変身ベルト デモンズドライバー, Henshin Beruto Demonzu Doraibā) is the transformation device used by Kamen Rider Demons, Over Demons, Orteca, and the Demons Troopers.

Overview[]

The Demons Driver was created by Masumi Karizaki as the successor to the Vail Driver and features the Genomix (ゲノミクス, Genomikusu) system, which equips part of the Rider's body with an armament using the genetic information of a Vistamp. The Driver initially used the demon Vail as its power source. As a result, the demon could influence the Driver's functions and the power of Kamen Rider Demons. If Vail chose to do so, he could steal the life force of the Driver's user when they transform. Over time, this leads to the user's health deteriorating to the point that their organs and bodily functions register as those of an 80-year-old. Vail could also prevent the user from using additional Genomix forms by repelling a Vistamp away from the Ohinjector. When Vail recognized Orteca as a fellow demon, he allowed him to use more of Demons' power than Hiromi could.

After Vail permanently escaped from the Demons Driver, George Karizaki modified it so that it draws power from the user's inner demon instead by implementing the human body strengthening engine O.V.E.R. (オーバー, Ōbā). This results in a safer and more stable transformation as well as makes the Driver suitable for possible mass production. George later further modifies the Demons Driver so that Hiromi could use it again despite his deteriorated body.

Demons Trooper System Case

The Mass Production Type Demons Driver

Numerous copies of the Mass Production Type Demons Driver (量産型デモンズドライバー, Ryōsan-gata Demonzu Doraibā) were created by George and given to Hiromi, who then found suitable candidates in Weekend to use them. These mass-produced Drivers use α・O.V.E.R. (アルファオーバー, Arufa Ōbā) for transformation into Kamen Rider Demons Trooper α and β・O.V.E.R. (ベータオーバー, Bēta Ōbā) for transformation into Kamen Rider Demons Trooper β.

Design[]

The Demons Driver is composed of the following parts:

  • Ohinjector (オーインジェクター, Ōinjekutā): The stamping-type information input device. It receives the power of various species of organisms by stamping the special information transmission code of the Vistamp, known as the Vistamp Code (バイスタンプコード, Baisutanpu Kōdo).
  • Demons Red Pad (デモンズレッドパッド, Demonzu Reddo Paddo): The Genome approval device of the Demons Driver. As a preliminary step to the Ohinjector, the Vistamp is approved by stamping here. Only when the stamping is approved does it switch to a standby state, making Ohinjector input possible.
  • Demons Driver Body (デモンズドライバーボディ, Demonzu Doraibā Bodi): The exterior of the Demons Driver. It is made of cemented carbide with Astometalum (アストメタルム, Asutometarumu), a rare metal harvested from extremely rare meteorites, as the main material, and protects the internal delicate equipment from any impact.
  • Genomuscle (ゲノマッスル, Genomassuru): The artificial muscles of the Demons Driver. The artificial muscles, which draw out unlimited power by receiving an energy supply, rapidly multiply at the same time as the Decide Up and wrap around the whole body of the user.
  • Demons Knock (デモンズノック, Demonzu Nokku): The Demons Driver's operating device. It has a structure in which commands are input by strongly pushing the Demons Knock on both sides at the same time, providing a starting point for a variety of attacks. For example, by stamping the Vistamp after pressing them once during transformation, the Genome Module (ゲノムモジュール, Genomu Mojūru), which arms each part of the body based on its ability, is deployed on Kamen Rider Demons. Alternatively, pressing them once after stamping the Vistamp will charge Demons, enabling the finishing move Demons Finish (デモンズフィニッシュ, Demonzu Finisshu) to be carried out.
  • Demons Ladder (デモンズラダー, Demonzu Radā): A band that deploys when the Driver is equipped and is fixed to the user's waist, forming a chain field that prevents the power of the animal species from leaking out.
  • Vistamp Holder (バイスタンプホルダー, Baisutanpu Horudā): Holders for carrying Vistamps. They are placed on the left and right sides of the Demons Driver and a Vistamp can be set in each.

Functionality[]

Transformation[]

To transform, the user first presses the Activation Knock button on the Vistamp before stamping the Vistamp's Genomic Stamper against the top part of the Driver. The user then stamps the Genomic Stamper on the Demons Driver's screen to initiate the transformation.

So far, there have been several variations of transformations for various users:

  • When transforming into Demons, the user stamps the Spider Vistamp onto the Demon Red Pad, summoning a small spider. When the Vistamp stamps onto the Ohinjector, the spider creates a cocoon of webbing that forms the suit, with the spider attaching itself to the right shoulder and forming the chest armor and the face armor.
    • When Hiromi transforms into Imperial Demons, he activates the Giant Spider Vistamp and stamps it onto the Red Pad, summoning a giant red tarantula manifestation. He then stamps it on the Ohinjector, the tarantula spits out webbing as it breaks, causing it to form the armor and cape.
  • When transforming into Over Demons, the user activates the Kuwagata Vistamp and stamps it onto the Red Pad, summoning a stag beetle manifestation. As the user stamps the Ohinjector, the manifestation flies around and combines with the suit, forming the right shoulder and chest armor, and the face armor. The transformation effect differs from its user, as Hikaru's is red and blue, while Go's is red and orange.
    • When Go transforms into Get Over Demons, the transformation is the same process, except he summons a Giraffa stag beetle, and the effect is blue and orange.
  • When the Demons Troopers transform, they activate the Trooper Vistamps, stamp the Red Pad, and stamp the Ohinjector. The armor then quickly forms around them.
  • When Orteca transforms, he activates the Kraken Vistamp, and stamps on the Red Pad, as black ink surrounds him. As he stamps onto the Ohinjector, the ink begins to form the suit as the armor then snaps onto the suit, with the tentacles appearing to finish the transformation. The effect appears as a squiggly light green circle.

A Genomix form change is activated by pressing the Demons Knocks on both sides of the Driver before repeating the same process of stamping a Vistamp on the top of the Driver, then the screen.

Finisher[]

Main article: Finisher (Revice)

To initiate the Demons Driver's standard finisher, the Demons Finish (デモンズフィニッシュ, Demonzu Finisshu), the user stamps a Vistamp used onto the screen before pressing both Demons Knocks once.

While using a Genomix, a finisher is performed by pressing the Demons Knocks twice, then a third time. This results in a Demons Requiem (デモンズレクイエム, Demonzu Rekuiemu) finisher using all of the active Vistamp abilities.

Users (chronological order)[]

User Kamen Rider Episode Obtained Description
Hiromi Kadota Kamen Rider Demons Theft!? Skateboard!? I'm Kagero! (first, original)
Lay Down My Body and Soul, The Whereabouts of the Decision (second, modified)
The Demons Driver initially appeared inside its case as George Karizaki handed the Mammoth and Ptera Vistamps to Daiji Igarashi, who asked the scientist if he could use it. George refused, as Daiji lacked the courage to use the Revice Driver. After Kagero possessed Daiji and became Kamen Rider Evil, the Driver was given to Hiromi along with the Spider and Batta Vistamps so that he could stop him. Hiromi later relinquished the Demons Driver when he resigned from Fenix.

When Daiji later attempts to form a contract with Giff, Hiromi asks George to further modify the Demons Driver so that he could use it despite his condition. He then transformed into Kamen Rider Demons once again in order to fight Daiji and change his mind. Hiromi continued to use this driver on a regular basis after his body was restored to match his biological age.

Orteca Lay Down My Life, Entrust My Feelings After being taken to Fenix Skybase and meeting with Hideo Akaishi, Orteca took the Demons Driver as the flying base began to plummet. After Orteca suffered defeat at the hands of Kamen Rider Holy Live, Vail abandoned him and the Demons Driver. It was then retrieved by George Karizaki.

Later, he acquired another Demons Driver and the Kraken Vistamp from Blue Bird's storage, with both of them being updated by Rinna Sawagami. He used it to transform into Kamen Rider Orteca.

George used the Driver to transform into Kamen Rider Demons to stop Kamen Rider Jack Revice's rampage before battling against the Anomalocaris Deadman. George later modified the Demons Driver for safer transformation, but was injured by Hideo Akaishi before he could have a chance to use it, leaving him unable to transform. George then entrusted both the modified Demons Driver and Kuwagata Vistamp to Hikaru Ushijima.
Hikaru Ushijima Kamen Rider Over Demons Unknown Threat, the Way We Should Go After requesting the modified Demons Driver and Kuwagata Vistamp from George, Hikaru transformed into Kamen Rider Over Demons to rescue the Igarashi siblings and Vice following the destruction of Fenix Skybase. Hikaru later gave the driver to Go Tamaki to succeed him.
Go Tamaki Courage to Face Each Other... What Should You Really Protect? After Hikaru was injured and left bedridden as a result of using Full Genomix, he gave his driver to Go in order for him to fight alongside the others.

The Demons Driver was later damaged by Kamen Rider Juuga, rendering it inoperable. He then left the driver at Masumi Karizaki's grave before it was retrieved by Hiromi. Nine months after the events of the series, the driver was either fixed or replaced by a new Demons Driver.

Various Weekend Members Kamen Rider Demons Troopers Father's True Intention, Son's Determination! After the deaths of Kimiko and Tasuke Ushijima, a large number of Weekend operatives received Mass Production Type Demons Drivers with either Trooper Spider or Trooper Kuwagata Vistamps for transformation.

Behind the Scenes[]

Portrayal[]

The voice of the Demons Driver is provided by Kenjiro Tsuda (津田 健次郎, Tsuda Kenjirō), who later voices both Vail and the Vail Driver, and previously voiced Redyue in Kamen Rider Gaim and Kasshine in Kamen Rider Zi-O.

Notes[]

  • Unlike other Drivers in Revice so far, the Demons Driver does not physically hold the Vistamp that was used to transform. Afterwards, the user stores the Vistamp in a Vistamp Holder.
  • In the very first DX Demons Driver promotional video uploaded by Bandai, the belt's transformation sound was very different from the show.[1] The video was later replaced by an updated version with the correct voice lines by Kenjiro Tsuda.
  • While its nature of draining energy from/slowly damaging the user has parallels with previous devices, the Demons Driver is the first to not directly involve the trinkets it uses in its life draining.
  • Instead of announcing the Vistamp's name, the Demons Driver announces these names for the following Vistamps:
    • Extra: Barid Rex, Volcano, Rolling, Holy Wing, Thunder Gale, Giffard Rex N, Giffard Rex S, Trooper Spider, Trooper Kuwagata, Fifty Gale
    • Another: Toysaurus (unique animation), Twin Chimera, Tri Chimera, Juuga
  • Because the following Vistamps either have a similar motif to or are modified from an existing Vistamp, their representations on the Demons Driver's screen are simply recolored from the other Vistamp:
    • Condor: Eagle
    • White Leo: Lion
    • Quetzalcoatlus: Ptera
    • Neo Batta: Batta
    • Toysaurus: Rex
  • The transformation announcement for the Demons Driver uses Future Bass Drop Loop 7 from Cymatics' Odyssey Sample Pack, the same sample used in Trippie Redd's Miss The Rage.[2]
