The Paradox Roidmude (パラドックスロイミュード, Paradokkusu Roimyūdo) is the main antagonist of Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future. He is an Advanced Roidmude who murdered and masqueraded as Eiji Tomari (泊 英志, Tomari Eiji) by stealing his Rider powers and transforming into Kamen Rider Dark Drive (仮面ライダーダークドライブ, Kamen Raidā Dāku Doraibu).

Background[]
Roidmude 108 imprisoned in the wall
Roidmude 108 (ロイミュード１０８, Roimyūdo Ichi Zero Hachi) was the last Roidmude created by Tenjuro Banno and was among the armada to march his brethren during the events of Global Freeze. However by August of 2015, 108 had been imprisoned by the other Roidmudes and deactivated due to his dark behavior.
108 after killing Eiji Tomari.
He would reawaken sometime before 2035 after the Roidmudes have successfully conquered the world. Roidmude 108 would engage with a battle against Eiji Tomari, the future Kamen Rider Drive. He defeated his opponent and stolen his Drive Driver to become Drive, renaming it as "Kamen Rider Dark Drive". Operating the NEXTridoron, he used the Time Road to travel back in time to create an eternal Global Freeze.
The Paradox Roidmude[]
Upon arriving in 2015, Roidmude 108 began to manipulate Shinnosuke Tomari to destroy the Drive Driver, taking advantage from the knowledge of Krim's destructive disorder during that period. To do that he assumed Eiji Tomari's guise and employed the Future Roidmudes to attack the Kamen Riders. He also took advantage of Drive Type Next's autopilot function to attack the present Drive. After faking his death to despair Shinnosuke, "Eiji" revealed his true colors after he had destroyed Krim and admitted his identity as Roidmude 108.
The Roidmude 108 from 2035 began to search for his 2015 counterpart to merge themselves to create the eternal Global Freeze. While he continues to assume the role as Kamen Rider Dark Drive to assure Shinnosuke won't get in his way. Roidmude 108 succeeded in his goal and his fusion with his past self created the Paradox Roidmude. As he attempted to unleash a powerful Heavy Acceleration, his efforts were foiled when Shinnosuke restarted his Drive Driver with the Tridoron Key and used his son's Shift Car to assume Drive Type Special, using the form to vanquish Paradox for good.
Post-mortem[]
Upon his destruction, Paradox was added to the Eradicated Roidmude Table. Two years after the Roidmudes' shutdown, the 108 Roidmudes' fragmented data would lead to the emergence of the amalgamation Roidmude 5886.

Kamen Rider Dark Drive was amoung the Dark Riders revived to serve Shocker. The Dark Riders are torture a traitor Shocker Combatmen, but is intervened by Kamen Rider Ghost, who along with Kamen Rider Specter and Necrom appears to vanquish the revived Dark Riders.
Chou Super Hero Taisen[]

Seperate iterations of both Kamen Rider Dark Drive and the Paradox Roidmude exist in the video game, Chou Super Hero Taisen. Kamen Rider Dark Drive was among the three Dark Riders that existed in the Game World who had fought Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. Alongside Dark Kabuto and Dark Ghost, he was eliminated by Ex-Aid Double Action Gamer Level X. The Paradox Roidmude was among the Shocker army of the Game World led by Shocker Leader III, the boss of the Chou Shocker Taisen bonus stage. This army was ultimately wiped out by a combined force of Kamen Riders and Sentai Rangers

- Heavy Acceleration: The signature ability of the Roidmude is to somehow slow down the movement of surrounding objects', including that of humans, with their unaffected consciousness aware of their impass during this time. One can be protected by the Heavy Acceleration effect by carrying Shift Cars or Signal Bikes on their person.
- Advanced Camouflage: Roidmudes can generate disguises through film-layers around their body that function similar to the cerebral cortex.
- Data Mimicry: Roidmudes can transform their bodies into data to travel within the electricity/cyberspace while in their Core modes. They can as well temporarily morph their bodies into data to easily phase through solid objects.
- Energy Attack: Plain Roidmudes all have machine-gun-like fingers from which they can fire energy bullets. This feature is forsaken for greater power upon evolution into an Advanced Roidmude.
- Wall Crawling: Spider Type Roidmudes possess the ability to climb walls. This feature is forsaken for greater power upon evolution into an Advanced Roidmude.
- Webbing: Spider Type Roidmudes can generate spider webs from their mouth to their liking. They can even spit an energized version which as strong as their finger blasts. This feature is forsaken for greater power upon evolution into an Advanced Roidmude.

After awakening the past Roidmude 108, "Eiji" merges with it, coining this evolution as a Supreme Evolved (超絶進化, Chōzetsu Shinka). Its appearance is identical to the Over Evolved State (超進化態, Chō Shinka-tai), sporting a golden body.

- Global Freeze: Unlike most Advanced Roidmudes whose Heavy Acceleration ability affects a certain radius, Paradox is able to create a Global Freeze entirely on his own which envelopes the entire Earth. Paradox is also able to create a more powerful version of the Global Freeze which completely freezes any movement on Earth. Only the Shift Next Special Car has been known to be able to counter these effects.
- Advanced Camouflage: Roidmudes can generate disguises through film-layers around their body that function similar to the cerebral cortex.

Type Next (タイプネクスト, Taipu Nekusuto) is Dark Drive's futuristic mercedes-based form. Accessed through the Next side of the Shift Next Special Car, this form bears the Type Next Tire (タイプネクストタイヤ, Taipu Nekusuto Taiya).
Without a user, Dark Drive can operate autonomously like a remote-controlled drone, accepting orders and executing them. It is noted that in this specific configuration, Dark Drive without a host is weaker to some degree. The body of the autonomous Dark Drive can be recreated with its Drive Driver and Shift Brace intact.

Portrayal[]
The Paradox Roidmude is voiced by Rikiya Koyama (小山 力也, Koyama Rikiya), who previously voiced Kamen Rider Bujin Gaim in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle and physically portrayed Joe the Haze in Kamen Rider Black RX. His suit actor is Kazuya Okada (岡田 和也, Okada Kazuya).

Who is Dark Drive?
- The identity of Dark Drive was the subject of mystery in the run-up to the premiere of Surprise Future, with a trailer following the Drive episode airing on the Sunday before the film's release offering six suspects: Go Shijima, Krim Steinbelt, Chase, Kiriko Shijima, Eiji Tomari, and Shinji Koba. Ultimately, it turned out to be technically both Krim and Eiji, but in reality neither of them due to the Paradox Roidmude disguising as them.
- The usage of Drive Driver requires compatibility with its user. Meaning, when 108 stole Eiji's identity, he also stole his compatibility.
- Paradox Roidmude, as his name suggests, is itself a paradox, as his own destruction in the past altered the future, negating his future self's existence, thus preventing him from traveling back to the present and evolving into his advanced form in the first place.
- Paradox Roidmude is the only Drive Rider to have a A.R. World counterpart, or otherwise.
