ep.2 The Omen of Destruction and Desast's Awakening (ep.2 滅びの予兆とデザストの覚醒, Episōdo Tsū Horobi no Yochō to Dezasuto no Kakusei) is the second episode of Kamen Rider Outsiders, and the third overall. It features the resurrection of Horobi and Desast, as well as the debut of Kamen Rider Desast.

Continuity and Placement[]

Synopsis[]

Ren Akamichi lost sight of the meaning of striving for strength in a world that had become peaceful. Then Kamen Rider Horobi appears in pursuit of Megid and asks for Ren's help in protecting the world from the looming evil threat. According to the predictions of Zein, a supernatural being who has learned good intentions and is uniting the worlds of Riders to eradicate evil, a threat is also approaching Ren. Meanwhile, Ecole and Joseph Rando of Foundation X begin Project Outsiders to stop Zein from destroying humanity. Using the power of Odin's Card Deck recovered by Kamen Rider Diend, They resurrected Desast.

Plot[]

In the time since peace was fully restored, Ren Akamichi began to train less, though the memory of him defeating Desast still weighted heavily on his mind. His inner self reminded Ren that this was because Ren wanted to battle Desast again, despite having convinced himself that Desast had been defeated in order to save the world. Horobi then approaches Ren, hoping to enlist him into a faction led by Zein to combat an impending evil, but Horobi is unable to persuade Ren. Desast runs to the city after being awakened in the Foudantion X, where he meets Ren and demands to fight him. Believing Desast to be that said "evil," Ren transforms into Kenzan to stop him.

After a brief fight, Horobi appears and transforms, facing Desast until Kenzan joins him and finishes Horobi, then, when Desast and Kenzan were going to continue their fight, possessed by Ark, Horobi attacks Desast with the Ark Driver-Zero, but Kenzan defends him and Horobi transforms, making Desast escapes with Ren. He later then admitted that he wanted to fight Desast again as he had no purpose in life, calling him his lifelong rival. Desast decides to face Ark-Zero, which causes his Alter Ride Book to transform into Gaikotsu Ninjaden Wonder Ride Book and his Grudge Dent to transform into Kokuranken Shikkoku. He also gains a Seiken Swordriver, which he uses to transform into Kamen Rider Desast.

Desast confronts and defeats Ark-Zero. After the fight, Nico Saiba arrives and sees Horobi was injured by Kamen Rider Desast after his body was temporarily possessed by Ark. Nico Saiba became an ally of Horobi some time after he was rebuilt and defected from Foundation X and chose to side with Zein to eradicate Ark's evil influence in the world. Nico warns Desast that he was marked as evil for Zein and should stay away from Ren. Desast warns that he wants to fight Ren again, but first he will defeat Zein. Claiming that his new story has just begun, Desast looks at his Wonder Ride Book and walks away. Once Desast retreated, Nico discussed with Horobi about their situation and came to a conclusion that they needed the help of Hiden Intelligence to support Zein through Kamen Rider Chronicle. She called Tsukuru Koboshi to call a shareholder meeting.
