Encounter VI: Last Boss and Kicking Can (邂逅Ⅵ:ラスボスと缶けり, Kaikō Shikkusu: Rasubosu to Kankeri) is the seventh episode of Kamen Rider Geats.
Synopsis[]
While Neon is out livestreaming, a Jyamar Area suddenly appears. The final mission, "kicking can game" has begun!
The Jyamato this time is a powerful final boss with the capability to destroy the world. It is said that it can be defeated by targeting its power source cans at its feet.
That means the Rider who can "kick the can" will become the Deza Shin! Ace, Keiwa, Neon, and Michinaga face off against a mighty enemy!
Plot[]
Keiwa does another video diary, stating that only four contestants remain in the game and expressed concern about the DGP’s policy for erasing the memories of the players once they are retired and about the players who are eliminated. Sara bursts into his room unannounced, startling him and he tries to hide his video diary, which leads his sister to misinterpret that he was watching some sort of adult content and she says he has nothing to be ashamed of as he is an adult. A mortified Keiwa tries to say he isn’t doing that but Sara doesn’t believe him.
Somewhere in the city, Ace is sitting high atop a billboard and staring at his Roman coin, thinking of a memory of when he was a child. A woman gave the coin to him, telling him to forget about her as he will be happier that way and then abandons him. Ace reveals that the woman was his mother, wondering where she is now.
Keiwa finds an old essay he wrote when he was in elementary school in a box, which says that he hopes in 10 years to be a wonderful adult who defends world peace. Sara says that her brother hasn’t changed much since then and Keiwa thinks she is teasing him. She does wonder what he meant by being a wonderful adult, which he does not remember what exactly he was thinking then. He then finds old paper crafts of katanas and shurikens he made and Sara believes that maybe Keiwa was hoping to be a ninja that would protect the world from evil.
Neon livestreams yet another escape attempt from her home, her 53rd attempt, only for Ben to immediately find her and try to chase her down. Neon tries to hide behind a woman, but she is actually John in a disguise, who captures her but Neon escapes upon tricking him into thinking his skirt is ripped open and the two guards get trapped in a Jyamar Area barrier. Neon is surprised as she didn’t receive a call to alert her that Jyamato were in the area, rushing to the temple.
Tsumuri announces to the players that they have an emergency on their hands, eating breakfast while talking and ordering the Riders to protect the city. Each of them defends civilians while battling the Jyamato and Tsumuri apologizes for not contacting them, announcing that the final boss is approaching. Keiwa clears the secret mission of killing Jyamato without being detected and is rewarded with the Boost Buckle.
Tsumuri explains that the last mission for the round is a game of “kick the can”. Michinaga rushes the boss, the Soboten Knight, who is a pint sized monster that is surprisingly strong and easily knocks him back. Saboten grows bigger by extracting and consuming human essence, drinking it from a can, he is considered one of the most destructive Jyamato in DGP history. Whomever kicks his can out of the Jyamar Area will cause Saboten to lose all its stored energy, defeating it and then that player will win the title of Desire God. Upon hearing this, all four Riders rush to attack but Saboten drinks from the can and grows into a 9 foot tall monster that pummels Na-Go Buffa and Tycoon, who tried to attack directly and then Saboten teleports away to hunt for more humans to consume. Tsumuri stresses that they must defeat Saboten or eventually it will be “game over”.
At the lounge, Ace reveals he is familiar with Saboten, recalling a DGP game where all the Riders who participated lost, resulting in the area it was in being totally destroyed and all the humans trapped inside were killed. The existence of the area was then erased from the memories of man. Ace says that is an old story and he heard it before he started competing in the DGP, revealing he has been participating since the year 1 A.D. Keiwa thinks he is telling another lie, but Ace tells him not to ask questions if he doesn’t believe him. Michinaga demands to know why Ace is still competing since he got his wish for fame, Ace simply says Michinaga will find out when he wins.
Michinaga approaches Keiwa and demands to be given the Boost Buckle, knowing that speed is the only way to kick Saboten’s can. Keiwa refuses, intending to use Boost this time, which Michinaga scoffs at because he thinks Keiwa doesn’t have what it takes to save the world. The two nearly get into a fight before Girori insists that they all go home and rest until Saboten appears.
Neon invites Ace to eat at the soba shop, where both celebrities are surrounded by fans, she says that she is concerned about the world ending and that now her wish seems selfish in comparison. Ace doesn’t understand her concern as it is natural to be rewarded for their efforts and true heroism is the pride of standing up and fighting for the greater good.
Keiwa and Sara enter the shop, with the latter fangirling over seeing Ace and Neon together. Keiwa picks up their order and remembers Mr. Fukuoka being killed by the Jyamato and vowing that this time he would not let that happen again. As he returns to the table with their meal, Sara demands to know when he became acquainted with the two celebrities, with Keiwa sheepishly saying it “just sort of happened”.
As they talk, Sara reveals that their parents both died when they were young and she and her brother spent their lives taking care of each other. Ace remains silent for a second and then says that must be tough to deal with. Sara says it is fine, more happy to be meeting Ace and Neon than drudging up old memories. As their conversations continue, Ace is awkwardly silent and observing Keiwa and Sara’s bond as siblings.
Upon leaving the soba shop, Neon confesses that she is a bit envious of Sara’s sibling bond, as she is an only child. The two girls have fun conversing and when Keiwa and Ace are alone, the latter tells Keiwa he thinks he understands his wish for world peace. He experienced the trauma of losing someone and hopes his wish will keep others from experiencing such pain. Keiwa asks Ace about his family, which he says he no longer remembers and then says he enjoyed his time with him and his sister, hoping that they can continue their commitment to saving the world.
Sara returns to her brother’s side, disappointed that Neon had to leave because she wanted to evade her bodyguards and now Ace has left. She thinks her “last dinner” ended anticlimactic, as she thinks she will never get a chance to eat with Neon and Ace again, but Keiwa reassures her that she will as long as the world is at peace. Sara finds that statement weird as she walks home with him.
The next morning, Saboten appears at an amusement park and drinks essence from his can, growing to several meters tall and rampaging. Tsumuri deploys the four Riders to the area and Keiwa commences his plan, equipping Boost to get close enough to kick the can. He uses the Boostriker to get in close to Saboten and knock him off balance and then revolves his Boost form to his legs to increase his running speed. He just barely gets close enough to the can, but Saboten detects him and smacks Keiwa into the air. Ace transforms and saves Keiwa from an oncoming energy blast, but reveals that he planned for this to clear the secret mission and obtain the reward for the mission: the Ninja Buckle. Keiwa, badly injured, is upset that Ace tricked him again and for taking things so lightly with the world in danger. Ace says he will win again and get his wish, becoming Ninja form as Saboten grows to Kaiju size.
Ace uses his ninja power to fight Saboten and uses clones to distract him long enough to kick the can, but Saboten then catches it and teleports away. Tsumuri confirms that the mission is still going as Ace failed to kick the can out of the Jyamar Area and away from Saboten, thus the game has reset. Keiwa is still angry about being used by Ace, who says he simply knows the game better than him and he alone will save the world. Keiwa declares he will not trust Ace anymore, but collapses from his injuries and Neon looks disapprovingly at Ace.
