Synopsis[]
Michinaga continues showing his hostility to Ace while they are called into the the next round of the Desire Grand Prix, which requires the five remaining contestants to pair up. While the pairs are decided through lottery, each team fights to eliminate the Jyamato.
However, because there are an odd number of remaining contestants, the Desire Grand Prix management sends out one of their own, the mysterious Kamen Rider PunkJack to pair up with the outlier. Who exactly is he and which pair will emerge victorious?
Plot[]
Keiwa records another video diary until his sister Sara walks in on him. He tries to hide what he was doing, but this leads to her thinking he failed another job interview, she urges Keiwa to get his act together.
Michinaga and his friend, Toru, walk back to a van. Toru talks about his dreams of making a skyscraper, though Toru is revealed to not even be near Michinaga. His co-workers offer to take him to get lunch. Michinaga declines the offer and thinks about how he will win the DGP and fulfill his desire to create his world.
Ace is guest starring in an episode of a home makeover show, having purchased a house that he wants renovated. Michinaga's construction company has been hired to do the renovations, much to his chagrin. Tensions grow between the two as they talk, with Michinaga irritated by Ace's smug attitude, only for both of them to be summoned for the next round of the DGP.
At a shoreline walkway overlooking a bridge, numerous couples are abducted in the Jyamar Area by playing card themed Jyamato. Tsumuri welcomes the players to the third game of the DGP: the Concentration game. The Kamen Riders will be selected by lottery into team of two each to defeat the Trump Jyamato, monsters who abduct couples from dating spots. The team with the lowest score will be eliminated from the game. Ace draws first and gets Neon as his partner, Michinaga gets Keiwa as his partner for the game.
Morio points out that there are only five of them and so he has no partner to team up with, but Tsumuri says that a DGP staff member will fill the role as Morio's teammate. She selects Kamen Rider PunkJack, a silent and stoic pumpkin bear Rider who will remain transformed to protect his identity. Tsumuri adds that each team will receive a Mission Box to start off with, deploying them to the area
Neon gets the Claw Buckle, Morio gets the Chain Array Buckle and gives PunkJack the Shield Buckle to keep the new loot for himself. Keiwa gets the Boost Buckle yet again, which dumbfounds Michinaga about how his partner can be so lucky. The Trump Jyamato arrive and attack, with Michinaga becoming Buffa Magnum to battle them. The Riders soon learn that none of their attacks have lasting damage on this type of Jyamato as they get right back up even after a finisher. Ace notices something strange when the Trump Jyamato revive and the wave ends with no one scoring any points.
In the lounge, Keiwa asks Michinaga why he used Magnum in a melee fighting style rather than shooting. Michinaga says he is used to close quarter combat and Magnum is ill suited for him, wanting his Zombie Buckle back. Keiwa decides to get it for him going with the Magnum Buckle to Ace for a trade.
Neon is frustrated that they didn't score at all, but Ace has figured out how to defeat the Jyamato. Keiwa offers the trade, with Ace revealing that certain Buckles have higher compatibility for certain Core IDs. For him, Magnum works best with Geats and Zombie has Buffa, the compatibility rate grants Riders a potential power boost, but in the end it boils down to how skilled the combatants are.
Ace and Neon accept the trade under the condition that Keiwa gives up Boost as well. Keiwa reluctantly accepts the trade and gives Zombie back to Michinaga, who berates him for handing over Boost to Ace. Keiwa says he only wants to help since they have to be a team, but Michinaga rejects him and says he is fine on his own. Keiwa asks what his problem is, with his partner calling him naive as only one person shall win the prize, so their teamwork is pointless.
Keiwa correctly guessed that something happened to Michinaga, with the latter telling him to leave him alone and back off, storming out of the lounge. He stands in the hallway and remembers when this all started, finding Toru being mortally wounded by the Jyamato, dying in his arms and dissolving. Two Kamen Riders in the shadows laughed at the death of his friend as they walked away. Geats witnessed this happening but was preoccupied fighting the Jyamato and unable to reach Toru in time. Michinaga burns with rage upon remembering this, driven by revenge.
Ace and Neon go to the virtual training room with holographic Jyamato to spar with, with Ace proposing they both do dancing to improve their synchronization.
The Trump Jyamato abduct more couples when Keiwa and Michinaga arrive, they fight and Keiwa also notices a pattern with the Jyamato and figures out how the game works while Morio struggles to work with PunkJack as the latter acts on his own. Ace and Neon have fully figured out the game: they must kill a matching suit of cards on the Jyamato simultaneously at the same time. They start the music and Ace shoots the Jyamato, then uses Boost and marks each matching pair with paintballs. Upon knowing which ones are which, Ace and Neon execute their finisher attacks simultaneously and in time with each other and successfully destroy the Jyamato and score points.
At the lounge, Girori encourages everyone to rest and be on standby, notifying that six Jyamato remain. Ace and Neon get something to eat and the other teams are dissatisfied with their performance. Morio is upset he is stuck with PunkJack, but Girori informs him that he can use his Desire Money to buy a ticket to reroll the lottery and get a new partner to pair with. Neon objects to being reassigned and misunderstood that her score would be deducted. Girori reassures her that a player's score in this game is kept with them, though the score wouldn't matter if a player has zero points.
Michinaga says he doesn't want the ticket or their pity and storms off, going to the virtual training room to beat up some virtual Jyamato. Ace tries to talk to Michinaga about how his loner nature can hinder him in the game, Michinaga proclaims that all Riders are his enemies, revealing his desire to crush people like Ace. He later storms out, leaving Ace in the training room alone.
Morio stops Michinaga in the hallway and offers him a chance to change partners with the ticket he purchased...
