The Transformation Belt Dreadriver (変身ベルト ドレッドライバー, Henshin Beruto Doreddoraibā) is the transformation device mainly used by Kamen Rider Dread.
Dreatroopers also wields Dreadriver, while their Driver name variant is called Dreadriver (MP) (ドレッドライバー (MP), Doreddoraibā (MP), lit. "Dreadriver Mass Produced").
Overview[]
The Dreadriver is equipped with advanced material transmutation functions, and can perform multiple transmutation by consuming Repli Chemy Cards.
The Three Dark Sisters created the driver from Malgam fragments as the crystallization of human malice. But to complete it, Atropos required the energy of a Level Number 10 Chemy. The Level Number 10 Occult Chemy UFO-X was captured by Clotho in Kyoto, and the Three Dark Sisters used its energy to complete the Dreadriver. Although, the Chemy was able to break free and escaped through a wormhole, as Level Number 10 Chemies cannot be subjugated by normal means.
Sabimaru Tsuruhara was selected as the sisters' test subject to experiment with the Driver. Holders of the Dreadriver are given the name "Kamen Rider Dread". After Dread’s first defeat and Sabimaru now freed by Houtaro's new powers as Super Gotchard with the Exgotchacalibur and UFO-X, Atropos retrieved the Driver and made new adjustments to it to allow her young sisters to use it and transform into Dread.
The holder of this Driver will be given the courtesy name "Kamen Rider Dread".
After Glion absorbed Germain's body as his vessel for resurrection, he can also use powerful alchemy as Germain did, as seen transmuted Kenichi Tsuruhara's tablet into Dreadriver, in order to created a Dreatrooper. Later in his throne room, Glion transmuted his gold cube into countless Dreadriver, increasing the numbers of Dreatroopers.
After Atropos's and Lachesis's demise, Clotho had the original Dreadriver and used it to battle Glion as Dread Type Three. However, due to her body reaching her limit, she lost to Glion without injuring him. It also disappeared following Clotho's death.
Design[]
The Dreadriver is composed of the following parts:[1]
- Vevel Setter (ヴェヴェルセッター, Veveru Settā): The Repli Chemy Card madness device. Swiping the Repli Chemy Card turns the Repli Chemy sealed in to go mad, depriving it of reason and putting it in a state of readiness to deploy alchemical formulas.
- Khonsu Stiller (コンススティラー, Konsu Sutirā): The inverted distiller. It forcibly separates and absorbs only the necessary abilities from the loaded Repli Chemy Cards. This allows special moves such as "Blood Rain" to be activated, and when four or more Repli Chemy Cards are loaded at the same time, even more powerful super moves such as "Blood Sacrifice" can be performed.
- Atum Circular (アトゥムサーキュラー, Atumu Sākyurā): The luminous transmutation deployment disk. A high-level transmutation using millions of brilliant colors is developed on the Repli Chemy Card placed in the center.
- Nekhbetvoke (ネクベトヴォーク, Nekubetovōku): The lever-type alchemy activation device. Multiple transmutation starts by opening and closing. This enables various operations with only simple movements by reading the intention of the person holding the device.
- Duatrange (ドゥアトレンジ, Duatorenji): The commandment belt. The Dreadriver is fixed to the waist of the wearer, restraining them under its influence.
Functionality[]
Transformation[]
The user first scans SteamLiner Repli Chemy Card in the Vevel Setter on the top of the Driver. The Atum Circular will display the level number of the Repli Chemy Card. The user then inserts the Repli Chemy Card into the Atum Circular slot before pulling the Nekhbetvoke lever. The Repli Chemy will come out from the driver while spewing fire. The fire and Repli Chemy will engulf the user, before a large black ribcage structure envelops the user, thus transmuting the user into Kamen Rider Dread Type Zero.
To transform into Dread Type One, Two & Three, The user may scan another Repli Chemy Cards after Scanning the SteamLiner Repli Chemy card in the Vevel Setter and insert all of them into the Atum Circular (with Unicon Repli Chemy card to access Type One, DaiOhni Repli Chemy Card to access Type Two, and both Unicon & DaiOhni Repli Chemy Cards to access Type Three). Once they pulled the Nekhbetvoke lever, the Repli Chemy will come out from the driver and a hand from the Type Zero armor will grab hold of it before it transmutes into the armor.
Drain[]
By inserting Repli Chemy Cards into the Khonsu Stiller, Dread is imbued with the ability distilled from the Repli Chemy or given the weapon transmuted from them. Dread can activate multiple Replichemies' ability with each consequent card added, allowing Dread to match the abilities of Kamen Rider Gotchard's forms.
Finisher[]
To initiate the Dreadriver's standard finisher, the Dread Breaking (ドレッドブレイキング, Doreddo Bureikingu), the user closes and opens the Nekhbetvoke lever. On Type Three however, the Dread Punishment ( ドレッドパニッシュメント, Doreddo Panisshumento) announcement will be heard instead.
When Dread (from Type Zero to Type Two) drains no more than three Repli Chemy Cards, closing and opening the Nekhbetvoke lever initiates the Blood Rain (ブラッドレイン, Buraddo Rein). Draining four or more Repli Chemy Cards allows Dread to initiate the Blood Sacrifice (ブラッドサクリファイス, Buraddo Sakurifaisu). The screams of sacrificed Repli Chemies will be heard when the lever opens.[2]
On Type Three, When Dread drains no more than two Repli Chemy Cards, closing and opening the Nekhbetvoke lever initiates the Blood Execution (ブラッドエクスキューション, Buraddo Ekusukyūshon). Draining Three or more Repli Chemy Cards allows Dread to initiate the Over Catastrophe (オーパーカタストロフィ, Ōbā Katasutorofi). Like the previous types, the screams of sacrificed Repli Chemies will be heard when the lever opens.

- Whereas scanning normal Ride Chemy Cards after transforming causes the screen to display their respective attributes, Legend Rider cards will display the helmets of the Kamen Riders they represent.[4]
- The Dreadriver appears to have sounds recycled from the Crocodile Fullbottle and the Primitive Dragon Wonder Ride Book.
- In the DX Dreadriver's promotion on Bandai's YouTube Channel, the initial standby was completely different from the one used in both the show and the actual DX toy itself.[5]
- The Eldoradriver, reuses the same basic design and some parts of the Dreadriver.
