This article is about a transformation device in Kamen Rider V3. |
The Transformation Belt Double Typhoon (変身ベルト ダブルタイフーン, Henshin Beruto Daburu Taifūn) is Kamen Rider V3's first and foremost transformation belt and weapon. Shiro Kazami transforms into V3 by performing the "Henshin", a series of moves which activates the 2 revolving pistons of the Double Typhoon, and then converts the accumulated wind energy to transform Kazami into Kamen Rider V3. Kamen Rider V3 is powered by the energies of the right "Kamen Rider No.1 Typhoon" and the left "Kamen Rider No.2 Typhoon". This allows V3 to utilize both the "Skill" of Kamen Rider 1 and the "Strength" of Kamen Rider 2. It is thinkable that like V3 who is sometimes considered a modified version of his predecessors, the Double Typhoon is considered the same to the original Typhoons.
Overview[]
The Double Typhoon symbolizes the skill of Rider 1 and the power of Rider 2, the windmills in the center of the belt rotates (It is described that the right windmill operates in the Rider 1's pose and the left windmill operates in the Rider 2's pose) with a pose that combines the transformation pose of the Double Riders and the shout of "Henshin! V3!" (変身!V3!, Henshin! Bui-Surī!). By absorbing wind power, it is converted and stored as energy by the Energy Converter beside the belt, supplied through Artificial Muscles, activates each function, and the transformation is completed. The time required for the transformation is 4 seconds.
Weakness[]
It is susceptible to damage to the point of being inoperable. However, the belt can be repaired.
Design[]
The Double Typhoon is composed of the following parts:[1]
- Red Lamp (レッドランプ, Reddo Ranpu): The point where the energy generated by the two wind turbines is concentrated.
- Wind Turbine (風車, Fūsha): The right turbine contains the skill of Kamen Rider 1, and the left turbine contains the power of Kamen Rider 2, and by rotating them, they generate the energy necessary for Kamen Rider V3 to transform and operate.
- Energy Converter (エナージコンバーター, Enāji Konbātā): The device that stores the energy converted by the Converter Lung in the chest. When energy is depleted, the transformed state cannot be maintained, and the transformation cannot be performed again.
History[]
Bent on revenge for his family's deaths, Kazami pleaded for the Kamen Riders to give him the power to fight Destron like them. The two Kamen Riders refused at first, but after Kazami was fatally wounded while saving them, the two decided to honor his wish and convert him into a cyborg.
While performing the reconstruction surgery to save Kazami however, Kame Bazooka ambushed the Double Riders with his shoulder cannons. Though the Double Riders retaliate, they were too weakened from transmitting their powers onto Kazami and became overwhelmed. Suddenly though, Shiro had appeared to help his predecessors, successfully transforming into Kamen Rider V3.
