Don Wada

Don Wada (和田どん, Wada Don), affectionately nicknamed and more commonly known as Don-chan (どんちゃん), is the protagonist character from the arcade game Taiko no Tatsujin.

The arcade game has had several tie-ins with the Kamen Rider Series, with several songs from various Kamen Rider seasons being made playable in the game.

Starting with Kamen Rider Ghost, unlockable costumes based on the Kamen Riders were included in the game:

  • When players clear the song Warera Omou, Yue Ni Warera Ari in Taiko no Tatsujin: White Version and above, the Kamen Rider Ghost costume is unlocked, where he becomes Ghost's new Rider Machine. Don-chan's face is replaced with Ghost's symbol and he changes his body color to match Ghost's.
  • When players clear the song EXCITE in Taiko no Tatsujin: Red Version (V6.08) and above, the Kamen Rider Ex-Aid costume is unlocked, where he becomes Ex-Aid's new Rider Machine. Don-chan wears Ex-Aid's Eyelight Scope (アイライトスコープ, Airaito Sukōpu) and changes his body color to match Ex-Aid's.[1]
  • When players clear the song Be The One in Taiko no Tatsujin: Blue Version and above, the Kamen Rider Build costume is unlocked, where he becomes Build's new Rider Machine. Don-chan's face is replaced with Build's symbol and he changes his body color to match Build's.
  • When players clear the song Over "Quartzer" in Taiko no Tatsujin: Blue Version and above, In 2018's, the Kamen Rider Zi-O & Geiz costume is unlocked, where he becomes Zi-O and Geiz's new Rider Machine. Don-chan's face is replaced with a gear with Zi-O's symbol "Kamen" (カメン lit. "Mask") and he changes his body color to match Zi-O's.
