This article is about a villain in Kamen Rider V3. |
Doctor G (ドクトルG, Dokutoru Gē, 13-30) is Destron's first general in a knight armor who originated from Germany and was given charge to oversee their operations in Japan. He is the leader of the Mechanical Army. He wields a battle axe, a short sword, and a knife. In the comics, his scorpion-shaped helmet could transform into a deadly scorpion, but this didn't happen on TV. Most of his monsters are cyborgs that are the same type as Destron Leader's cyborgs. Pronounced his enemy's name "Kamen Raaaaida V3!".
After numerous failures, Doctor G summoned the spirits of his dead, evil warriors to transform him into Kani Laser (カニレーザー, Kani Rēzā, 30) for his final battle with Kamen Rider V3. Despite putting up a valiant battle, he was destroyed by V3's V3 Kirimomi Hanten Kick.
Biography[]
V3[]
Doctor G arrived in Japan after he was contacted by Great Leader of Destron who gave him orders to oversee their operations and to defeat Kamen Rider V3, Shiro Kazami. [Terrifying Commandant: Doctor G!!]
Doctor G was responsible for the resurrection of Shocker's key figures (Colonel Zol, Dr. Shinigami, Jigoku Taishi, and General Black). [Zol, Shinigami, Jigoku, Black Rise from the Grave]
Endgame[]
After many of his plans were thwarted by V3 and his laboratory was destroyed by a special Interpol group known as the "Destron Hunters." He personally confronted the hunters and killed them all (except for Ken Sakuma who was saved by V3). Faced with no other viable options to redeem his past failures, Doctor G summoned the spirits of past villains, becoming Kani Laser. Kidnapping Tobee Tachibana and the members of the Kamen Rider Scouts, Doctor G challenged Shiro to a final battle.
Though Shiro and Ken successfully rescued Tobee and the others, Doctor G remained undeterred. Declaring that he would not allow Shiro to transform into Rider form, Doctor G continously swung his axe at Shiro, causing both to enter the ocean. Toying with the helpless Shiro, Doctor G neglected to uphold his declarement, doing nothing when Shiro re-attempted his full transformation sequence. Though easily withstanding V3's attacks, Doctor G decided to transform into his Kaijin form, revealing the ability to shoot lasers from his head. Ultimately though, V3 defeated him with a V3 Spinning Reversal Kick, canceling Doctor G's transformation. Admitting defeat, Doctor G stated that Destron will remain undefeated, despite its setback. Bidding Shiro farewell, Doctor G exploded.[Doctor G! The True Form of Evil is...?]
Legacy[]
- Main article: Narutaki
This version of Doctor G is a knight armored general of the revived Dai-Shocker in Super Hero Taisen. He is second in command of the organization, below only its Great Leader. and standing above the other Great Commanders recruited by it. Like the original, he wields an axe in battle and is able to assume the form of the Inhumanoid Kani Laser (カニレーザー, Kani Rēzā).
The driving force behind recreating Dai-Shocker, he revived past villains and manipulated the Riders and Super Sentai into fighting each other, placing Tsukasa Kadoya/Kamen Rider Decade, as a figure-head leader for the sole purpose of defeating Dai-Zangyack.
Upon learning the truth of Tsukasa's plans though, Doctor G personally decided to destroy the Kamen Riders, assuming his alternate form. Though resisting the combined forces of various Sentai members and Riders, he was defeated by the combined efforts of Kamen Rider Decade, Ryuki, Blade, and the Goseigers, who gave the three riders new Gosei Cards. Defeated, he reveals himself to have been Narutaki, who tells Decade that his journey will continue and vanishes behind a dimensional wall. [Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen]
Game World[]
An iteration of Kani Laser with the iteration in question somehow looking identical to the form that had been assumed by Narutaki when he had disguised himself as Doctor G during the events of Super Hero Taisen was part of the endlessly reviving army of Shocker in the amusement park Game World. In his first known appearance, he was destroyed by Kamen Rider Blade's Lightning Slash. [Maze 1: Emu, is dead?] Emerging as a result of Kuroto Dan's plot to revive himself, however, Shocker's forces would persistently attack, no matter how many times defeated, the Kamen Riders he had gathered for this purpose. [Maze 2: Escape] Once the Game World was destroyed by Kazuma Kenzaki's Joker Undead power, the Shocker army was assembled one last time under Kamen Rider Genm Zombie Gamer and Totema, but was ultimately wiped out by Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Maximum Gamer Level 99 and the second Kamen Sentai Gorider. Behind the scenes[]
Portrayal[]
In the original Kamen Rider V3, Doctor G was portrayed by Jōtarō Senba (千波 丈太郎, Senba Jōtarō). As Kani Lazer, he was voiced by Ritsuo Sawa, his suit actor was Masaru Okada. [1]
The Doctor G seen in Super Hero Taisen is portrayed by Tatsuhito Okuda (奥田 達士, Okuda Tatsuhito), who also portrays Narutaki in Kamen Rider Decade.
Concept Art[]
Notes[]
- Doctor G received a homage in the form of Scoprion Lord Leiurus Acutia, a "monster of the fortnight" in Kamen Rider Agito. With a design, coloration, ax, and shield that are very similar to those of the earlier villain, this Lord bears a strong resemblence to both Doctor G and his monster form. Acutia also debuted in episode 13 of Agito, the second series of the Heisei era, just as Doctor G first appeared in episode 13 of V3, the second series of the Showa era and the overall franchise.
- After the return of Shocker generals Colonel Zol, Dr. Shinigami, Jigoku Taishi, and General Black in various forms in recent years, Doctor G's appearance in Super Hero Taisen makes him the first of the Destron commanders to return in a recent crossover movie. It remains to be seen whether Baron Kiba, Archbishop Tsubasa and General Yoroi will follow suit in a future movie.
