Divergence SP: Emergency Special! All About the DesiGra! (乖離SP:緊急特番! デザグラのすべて!, Kairi Esu Pī: Kinkyū Tokuban! Dezagura no Subete!) is the twenty-fourth episode of Kamen Rider Geats. It features the debut of Kekera's human identity, as well as Kamen Rider Kyuun and the only appearance of Kamen Rider Kekera. The episode also acts as a partial clipshow recapping the first half of the series.
Synopsis[]
Due to operational troubles, the management of the Desire Grand Prix has hastily organized a Special Episode for the audience. For us viewers, the secrets of the Desire Grand Prix are revealed.
Ace, Keiwa, and Neon also watch the Special Episode with Ziin and the other supporters, but the broadcast is suddenly hijacked by Beroba, and she has grand ambitions pertaining to the Jyamato!
Plot[]
The announcer interrupts the broadcast of the DGP due to “technical difficulties” and says that while the staff works towards fixing the problem, a TV “Emergency Special” will be broadcast. Niramu and Samas address the audience and say that they will reveal some secrets of the DGP to encourage the people watching to become fans of their program.
The announcer narrates that the DGP is a reality show that utilizes different time periods as settings for their competitions. The audience selects players from the outside world to participate and eligible candidates become Kamen Riders to battle the Jyamato and fight to survive with the last remaining becoming the Desire God.
Ace is sitting in Zinn’s room watching the special with him, annoyed that the DGP is seemingly doing nothing to stop Beroba after her last attack.
The announcer continues the special stating multiple eras have been used in the game.
The screen reveals that games were held in: Early historical China, Ancient Egypt, the American Wild West of the late 1800s, ancient Polynesia, the Napoleonic Wars, the time of the 11th century Vikings, Ancient Rome, India, Modern Tokyo, The Crusades, the age of nautical exploration (ex. Christopher Columbus), the realm of ancient Mayan civilizations and when asked by Keiwa, Kekera reveals that the DGP took place during the Sengoku period and eras that Keiwa would consider the future as well.
The narrative continues, revealing that some winners of the DGP wished for wealth, the rule over entire nations as their sovereign and one in particular wished for a child to love and cherish.
Neon is in her sponsor’s room asking them about the winners across history, a response comes from writing that mysteriously appears on a note, saying that many people found their happiness that way.
The narrative then focuses on Ace, the most recent Deza Shin, with highlights of his greatest battles replayed on screen. Ace asks Zinn when did he start supporting him, to which Zinn says that he left a deep impression on him and he watched him since before he entered the DGP because he fearlessly faced the Jyamato, knowing then and there he would be a great Kamen Rider.
Ace flashes back to the first time he transformed, fighting the Jyamato on his way home from school and encountering Tsumuri for the first time to give him his Desire Driver. Ace then later fought the Jyamato as Geats, impressed with his new form as he enjoyed the thrill of battle. Zinn also reveals he chose Ace because of his open mindedness, as despite revealing his intentions to him, Ace is calm and still carrying a normal conversation with him. Ace says it is just because he is used to surprises and Zinn can blame the DGP for that.
The narrator remarks on Ace’s undefeated winning streak, while the two comment on his search for Mitsume. The narrator then shifts focus to the Riders who tried to challenge Ace’s title of Desire God, stating that Tycoon and Na-Go’s stars are beginning to shine just as bright as Ace’s.
Kekera tells Keiwa that he chose him because he fits the description of a true Kamen Rider by genuinely desiring world peace and wanting to help others. Keiwa isn’t sure he is glad to be a Rider knowing this, shocked that a talking frog from the future would support him and his concerns about the victims of the Jyamato, including his parents. He is determined to make his wish to bring everyone back come true.
Neon learns her sponsor had watched her, feeling bad about her being alone and out of place in her own home. They desire her to live the happiest life and her desire is one that they can relate to. Neon responds that if they care so much they would show themselves to her instead of hiding. The note glows and “Kyuun” replies that finding her happiness is enough for him.
Highlight clips of all three star players play with the narrator revealing their problems with the DGP stem from Beroba, showing footage of her stealing the Vision Driver. Because of this, management has decided to postpone the DGP indefinitely until the matter is resolved. Recorded footage of her previous attack is played and then Samas speaks, saying such a disaster has never happened before in DGP history. Niramu reassures her and the audience that retrieving the Vision Driver will put this to rest, but interference disrupts their communications and Tsumuri tries to warn them that the DGP network has been hacked.
Their feed cuts out as Beroba is now on screen, claiming that the Jyamato is what has kept the DGP going for so long. She gives an overview of them, bioengineered lifeforms created solely for the role of being the expendable antagonists of the games. Thanks to the care of Archimedel, the Jyamato have evolved into intelligent, sentient beings by using human bodies as fertilizer nutrients. She claims that they now fight to exist as beings in their own right, no longer a commodity for the DGP to exploit and soon the entire world will belong to them.
Beroba declares the death of the Desire Grand Prix and the beginning of her Jyamato Grand Prix. The DGP staff and the Riders are horrified by this turn of events.
The game has only one objective, the Jyamato must kill Niramu (the “last boss”) and take his Vision Driver. Whichever Jyamato wins will have their wish granted and become the Jyamato God, reshaping the world in the Jyamato’s image. Upon hearing this, the Jyamato attack civilians in droves and kill several of them as they try to escape.
Tsumuri manages to get back the broadcast and urges the Riders to deploy to the city to stop the Jyamato. Zinn goes along with Ace to help.
Beroba orders Michinaga to go out, as he is now nearly half Jyamato and thus is an entrant in her game. Michinaga is a tiny bit reluctant, realizing how crazy Beroba is, but she manages to convince him to do her bidding when she shares that she chose him for his unwavering hatred towards Kamen Riders. If he is that determined, she’ll gladly change the world into what he wants, so long as he drowns humanity in misery and gives her a world that can thrill her. Michinaga wants nothing to do with her but will use her for now and play along to get what he wants.
The three Riders race to the scene of the attack and transform, knowing that despite there being no reward, they have to help the people. The trio charges at the wave of enemies and Ace gets the Boost Buckle to become BoostMagnum. Zinn watches Ace fight until Beroba shows up and wonders why he is there, Zinn says he loves the DGP and won’t let her stop it. The other sponsors show up in person to back Zinn up in trying to take down Beroba, all of them change into their Rider forms and the three fight Kamen Rider Beroba for the sake of seeing their Riders fulfill their dreams.
Ace and the others fight the Jyamato nearby and Niramu believes that they simply need to adapt to this new reality as Tsumuri nervously observes, but she continues to have faith in their Kamen Riders. Ace declares that no matter the game he will always win, as the battle between the DGP and JGP begins….
