The Desire Grand Prix (デザイアグランプリ,Dezaia Guran Puri), sometimes referred to as DesiGra (デザグラ,Dezagura, DGP), is a tournament where participants transform into Kamen Riders and compete against each other by defeating the Jyamato and protecting the city. The winner of each game will be granted "the right to bring an ideal world to life" as the prize.[1]
The Desire Grand Prix was created by the organization of the same name to combat the Jyamato. The games had been going for thousands of years, as they were held even before the first incarnations of Ace Ukiyo in 1 AD participated. As the story progressed, it was revealed that the DGP was in fact a reality game show viewed by individuals from the future, with the Jyamato grown in-house by the staff members to incite entertainment for its viewers, along with the revelation that the wishes are granted by the Goddess of Genesis. According to Ziin, the tournament was originally a battle royale between Roman soldiers. The Deza Shin would simply be rewarded gold coins as prizes. After Mitsume was transformed into the Goddess of Genesis by Suel, the Desire Grand Prix would be reformatted to grant the victor their idealized world. The players started to fight against the Jyamatos instead of other players. The modern DGP is revealed to be a reality game show that has an elite audience of fans who watch it from behind the scenes, with cameras observing every move of the contestants.
The show's audience was the people from the far distant future who traveled to pre-selected time periods to use as a setting for their games. These people were backed by corporate sponsors such as the Kurama Foundation, who used their influence to keep law enforcement and government officials out of their affairs. The reasons the people of this future were doing this show is because their era was “boring”, with everything from the length of a person's life span to their jobs being in everyone's control to select and social gatherings and fun such as festivals being nonexistent. Ziin compared their fascination with the past to how people of the 21st century romanticized certain eras such as the Sengoku era or the American Wild West for their own entertainment through various media.
Later, several insurgents such as Beroba and Michinaga Azuma temporarily reformatted the game into the Jyamato Grand Prix[2], in the hopes of stealing the Goddess for themselves. After Michinaga won the JGP, executive producer Suel reclaimed the competition and reformatted it into the Desire Royale[3].
As the staff returned to the future following the failed Grand End, Ace Ukiyo reclaimed the Desire Grand Prix as its sole administrator while attempting to uphold the original purpose of the tournament they were led to believe in from the beginning, which was to protect the world from the Jyamato as Kamen Riders. The former management of DGP who were still loyal to Suel, however, continued to thwart Ace's ideal world and resetting the Grand End by sending Zitt to the present-day with a task to eliminate Ace and turn Tsumuri into the second Goddess of Genesis.
After Suel's death at the hands of Ace, the management staying in the present were erased from existence, while a new tournament was set up by Ziin to support the people's wish to become happy without sacrifice. This tournament was briefly interrupted and hijacked by a pair ofcriminals from the future.
Games Played
Pre-Series Games
The following games take place prior to the beginning of the series. As such, very little detail is known about the games, and are either mentioned or seen via flashbacks.
Various DGP Participants engaging a battle royale.
This edition of the Desire Grand Prix was one of the earliest variations of the game. It was a battle royale between Roman soldiers and were rewarded with golden coins as prizes. This was before Mitsume was transformed into the Goddess of Genesis and the Desire Grand Prix began granting idealized worlds.
This edition of the Desire Grand Prix took place 2,000 years ago, before the tournament began implementing Desire Drivers and the ability to become Kamen Riders. One of Ace's reincarnations fought against Licht Kugimiya and defeated him. Although it was customary at the time for the loser to receive a finishing blow, but Ace refused and accepted his victory.
Numerous deceased DGP Participants in the Saboten Knight Jyamato's reign of destruction.
This edition of the Desire Grand Prix was prior to Ace Ukiyo joining the game. According to Ace and Girori, the Saboten Knight Jyamato was present as the final boss, wiping out all the participants. As such, all casualties in the game became permanent, and the game was forgotten from history.
During his high school years, Ace Ukiyo was invited by Tsumuri to participate in the Desire Grand Prix. Presumably, he had won the game and continued to participate in the present day.
In one of the rounds, Michinaga Azuma was caught in a Jyamar Area, where his friend Toru Imai was coincidentally participating in the game. There, Michinaga witnessed his friend getting assaulted by two unknown riders and fatally wounded by a horde of Pawn Jyamato, before dying in Michinaga's arms. Before the civilian would be killed by the Jyamato, Ace as Geats would save him. Later on, Michinaga would participate in the Desire Grand Prix, but always found himself in second place before his rival Geats.
In one of the rounds, a young student named Sara Sakurai was on the outside of a Jyamar Area, while her parents were inside. She bore witness to the Jyamato killing her parents in front of her. After the game was reset, she lost all memory of the incident, though she would briefly recover the aforementioned memories by accidentally touching Tycoon's Core ID. While the world was eventually reset at the end of the game, the Sakurai's parents remained permanently deceased.
During the game, Hiroki lost the will to fight and escaped, only when he was stopped by a group of DGP staff members, with Win among them. Defeated by the Guard Riders, Hiroki was forced to fight the Jyamato again, while Win breaks the rules to save him from the Jyamato. After being saved, he decided to give up and was eliminated from the game.

Final Game Results
This edition of the Desire Grand Prix had began approximately six months predating the series with roughly 33+ participants. It ended on September 4, 2022 with Geats and Buffa surviving, while the large number of unseen Riders had been eliminated according to the scoreboard. Kamen Rider Shirowe was killed by the Slug Fortress Jyamato in the final round.

Results: The Vision Driver is stolen from Chirami by Beroba, causing the game and the Desire Grand Prix to be postponed for an indefinite period, causing Na-Go's Dezastar status and the Dezastar voting to be terminated.
Results: Beroba's destruction of the Jyamar Garden makes it impossible for the game to continue at it's current state, so the DGP staff hastily puts together a special episode featuring Ziin and the other supporters. However this broadcast was hijacked by Beroba, resulting in the Riders stepping in to deal with the Jyamato, while the supporters handle Beroba themselves.
Results: Beroba's hijacking of the DGP and obtaining the Vision Driver ultimately results in the beginning of the Jyamato Grand Prix, where Jyamato now fight against humanity in order to obtain their ideal world.
Following the Desire Royale, Ace would be able to create his own rendition of the Desire Grand Prix with the power of the Boost MarkIX Buckle. Simultaneously, this would also be co-run by Suel's Desire Grand Prix staff members.
Results: Keiwa's sister Sara Sakurai was caught in the crossfire of the game, leading to her death. As a result, Keiwa convinces Tsumuri to create the Bujin Sword Buckle. After defeating Daichi, Keiwa would make Tsumuri (who was now an incomplete Goddess of Genesis) to grant his wish to resurrect all fallen DGP players, thus resetting the world and cancelling the Parasite Game.

Following Ace's victory, Suel reemerges from present day to prepare for the final round.
Results: Ace, who had already awakened as a God, was resurrected while giving Keiwa, Neon, and Michinaga the ability to transform once again. With their coordinated attacks, the four Riders would defeat Regad Omega. By destroying Suel and creating a world where everyone can be happy, the final Desire Grand Prix ends, removing all the End Riders' rider status, resulting in people losing their memories of Ace Ukiyo.
Game: Treasure Hunt Game (宝探しゲーム,Takara Sagashi Gēmu)
Enemies Present: N/A
Results: This game is not seen on-screen, as the tournament was immediately disrupted by Mela and Melo, who used the Jyamato World Tree to lure out Ace Ukiyo and split him, along with the world, into four.
Results: Mela and Melo are defeated by the Kamen Riders, and with the Jyamato World Tree destroyed by Kamen Rider Geats Oneness, the four separated Earths are restored back as one.
Notes
Although many Desire Grand Prix participants have never transformed, the opening sequence showed their Entry Raise Forms (albeit blurred) with similarly designed animal helmets to the main cast.
The official materials claimed that the Desire Grand Prix was inspired by popular online games in the survival game genre such as Fortnite and Apex Legends.[1] However, manga artist Hiroya Oku had noticed that the game's details and rules were remarkably similar to his own series Gantz. Oku later clarified that this remark was made jokingly as a viewer, while he had no intention of "getting into a fight."[5]
Rather than having the Riders fight and defeat each other like a battle royale in Kamen Rider Ryuki, series head writer Yuya Takahashi wanted to tackle more of a game in the sense of Kaiji and the more recently popular Netflix series, Squid Game.[6]
