- "I'm Bitter Gavv! Soon-to-be the world's ultimate lifeform... Or so I'm told. (俺はビターガヴ!この世で最強の生物を目指す者... らしいぜ。 , Ore wa bitāgavu! Konoyo de saikyō no seibutsu o mezasu mono... Rashī ze.)"
- ―Dark Shoma's introduction to Shoma and Hanto Karakida[src]
Dark Shoma (ダークショウマ, Dāku Shōma)[2] is a mysterious individual resembling Shoma who transforms into Kamen Rider Bitter Gavv (仮面ライダービターガヴ, Kamen Raidā Bitā Gavu).
History
Hanto Karakida was the first to witness Dark Shoma, mistaking him for the original, he wandered the streets to satiate his hunger and activate his powers. Having previously attacked an oden stall and a restaurant, Dark Shoma then attacked a snack shop where his powers activated after creating the Sparkingummy Gochizo from one of the snacks there. Hanto arrived to face Dark Shoma (still mistaken for the original) who then transformed into a Kamen Rider against Valen.
During Bitter Gavv's first fight against Valen, Rakia Amarga arrived to fight the former as Kamen Rider Vram. Before Vram could defeat him, Valen fired a shot which distracted Vram and gave Bitter Gavv an opportunity to escape.
Continuing his search to unlock more of his powers, Dark Shoma attacked a delivery truck carrying snacks and later a factory, where he found snacks which created the Vrocan Spicy Gochizo. The original Shoma and Hanto arrived to confront him where Dark Shoma refers to himself as "Bitter Gavv" for the first time. The three fought, and was ultimately defeated by the two using finishers from their Gurucan and Doumaru forms.
Personality
Dark Shoma's personality is the exact polar opposite of Shoma, being that he does not care about the well being of others. Having just been born, he acts like a child; he throws a temper tantrum and wildly attacks anyone whenever he doesn't get what he wants or when something doesn't go his way. Dark Shoma also showed to be arrogant, as he introduced himself to the original Shoma as the strongest lifeform ever created.
Powers and Abilities
- Granute Physiology: As a Granute, Dark Shoma possesses a gavv which is his own unique Henshin Belt Bitter Gavv.
- Gochizo Creation: Whenever he eats snacks from the human world, Dark Shoma can create the associated Gochizo from his Gavv organ. Theoretically, he can accumulate a large number of them in a short period of time, and the Gochizo produced depend on the type and flavor of the snacks he consumes. However, this only works with said snacks, as anything else he eats (i.e. oden) will not produce any Gochizo. Currently, his Bitter Gavv only produces Gochizo if the snack satisfies his hunger.

Weaknesses
- Sloppy Fighting Style: Bitter Gavv's fighting style is so brutish and unrefined for the degree his strength is clocked at, that just throwing a punch can dislocate his arm, requiring him to have to pop it back in place. He can also create the Bitter Gavvgablade but it is seemingly too heavy for him to use effectively, resulting in wild uncontrolled swings.
- Bitter Gavv Activation: While Shoma's affinity with treats that bring him positive emotions allows for multiple Gochizo to be created in quick succession, Dark Shoma's Bitter Gavv is seemingly attuned to the greedy nature of its user, and only produces Gochizo if the snack satisfies his hunger.

Sparkingummy Form (スパーキングミフォーム, Supākingumi Fōmu) is Bitter Gavv's cola-flavored gummy candy-based primary form accessed by using a Sparkingummy Gochizo in the Henshin Belt Bitter Gavv.
All of Sparkingummy Form's stats exceed those of the other Riders' primary forms. Like his counterpart, he can summon the Bitter Gavvgablade from his Bitter Gavv. Bitter Gavv's strength can exceed his physical limits but will destroy his body parts doing so.
Sparkingummy Form consists of the following parts:
- Sparkingummy Alterhead (スパーキングミオルタヘッド, Supākingumi Orutaheddo): The head.
- Sparkingummy Mug (スパーキングミマグ, Supākingumi Magu): The face. The biological tissue generated by using Sparkingummy Gochizo intermittently explodes internally, generating tremendous power and activating the abilities of every body part. This makes it possible to draw out specs that exceed the power of the transformer, as long as one is willing to self-destruct.
- Sparkingummy Rage Eye (スパーキングミレイジアイ, Supākingumi Reiji Ai): The eyes. They are highly transparent, allowing for extremely high light absorption efficiency and excellent night vision.
- Gradnal (グラドナル, Guradonaru): The recording organ. The special crystalline structure also has a neurotransmitter auxiliary function that amplifies the functions of each body part during combat and enables smooth links with weapons and other items.
- Bitbady (ビットバディ, Bittobadi): The body. The transformer's body transforms and changes by distorting the characteristics of Gochizo, exhibiting partially outstanding powers.
- Sparkingummy Sternum (スパーキングミスターナム, Supākingumi Sutānamu): The chest. The biological tissue generated by using Sparkingummy Gochizo intermittently explodes internally, generating tremendous power and activating the abilities of every body part. This makes it possible to draw out specs that exceed the power of the transformer, as long as one is willing to self-destruct.
- Sparkingummy Alterarm (スパーキングミオルタアーム, Supākingumi Orutaāmu): The arms. The special punch explodes when it hits a target, increasing the destructive power of the punch.
- Sparkingummy Alterleg (スパーキングミオルタレッグ, Supākingumi Orutareggu): The legs. The special kick explodes when it hits a target, increasing the destructive power of the kick.
This form has the following finishers:
- Henshin Belt Bitter Gavv finisher:
- Sparkingummy End (スパーキングミエンド, Supākingumi Endo): Bitter Gavv generates pulses of black and red waves with speckled energy. He gathers it towards the right Sparkingummy Alterleg and delivers a spinning side kick of the accumulated energy at the enemy.

Notes
- With the exception of a costume change, Chinen's appearance as Dark Shoma remains largely the same from regular Shoma, which was a choice by the production to make it easier for Chinen to switch roles back-and-forth while filming. While playing Dark Shoma, Chinen used facial expressions and bodily postures that he normally would not use for regular Shoma.[2]
