Daiji Igarashi (五十嵐 大二, Igarashi Daiji) is a Fenix (now Blue Bird) captain who transforms into Kamen Rider Live (仮面ライダーライブ, Kamen Raidā Raibu). Before, he was possessed by his inner demon Kagero and forced to transform into Kamen Rider Evil (仮面ライダーエビル, Kamen Raidā Ebiru).
History
Background
Daiji Igarashi was born in 2001 as the second son of Genta and Yukimi Igarashi, and the middle brother to Ikki and Sakura. When Daiji was two, Daiji was present when Happy Spa being burnt down by his father, who had been taken over by Vail. He was shown to be unconscious with his mother, who was pregnant at the time, but would fortunately survive.
At one point during his childhood, Daiji had gone missing during a camping trip but Ikki was able to find him. As a young adult in present day, Daiji decided to enter the Fenix cadet training program and eventually graduated, where he would rise through the ranks quite quickly. His skill were proficient enough to the point where he was considered the prime candidate for the Revice Driver.
The Deadman Crisis
During his commencement ceremony as Fenix’s new captain, the Deadmans launch a big assault on Fenix to which Daiji and his teammates fight off the Giff Juniors and evacuate the civilians. When George Karizaki asked Daiji to use the Revice Driver to transform into a Kamen Rider, he hesitated in panic after seeing Hiromi Kadota failing to transform. However, it was Ikki who was able to use the Revice Driver to defeat the attacking Deadmen.
Recognizing his older brother's potential, Daiji pleaded for Ikki to work with Fenix. However, Ikki refused due to him prioritizing the bathhouse and opted to use the Revice Driver for occasions. Ikki's procrastinations caused a falling out between brothers which worsened after Ayaka Oketani was driven to become a Deadman. Eventually, Ikki came around to becoming a full-time Kamen Rider after pursuing through Daiji's wishes.
Kamen Rider Revice: The Movie
Daiji would appear to Ikki outside of Happy Spa to inform him the latest Deadmans rampage. He gives his brother a case containing the Megalodon Vistamp. While Ikki prepared to rush off only wearing a towel, Daiji reminds Ikki to put on his clothes.
Becoming Kamen Rider Live
Although Daiji was elated that Ikki signed a contract with Fenix, his hidden resentment towards him for taking his chance at the title grew stronger since his brother's debut as Revi. This allowed his inner demon, Kagero, to spawn and take over his body. Kagero used Daiji's body to transform into the mysterious Kamen Rider Evil to fight Revice. Once Fenix had caught onto Daiji's actions, his co-captain Hiromi became Kamen Rider Demons to subdue him.
Once Ikki became aware of Kagero's possession and Daiji's resentment, his brother managed to get through Daiji and encouraged him to fight back. Upon regaining control of his body, Daiji officially uses the Two Sidriver to fight as Kamen Rider Live. While the Igarashi brothers became active Kamen Riders, their sister Sakura would find the means to become Kamen Rider Jeanne. Despite generally retaining control over his body, Kagero would occasionally resurface to cause trouble to Igarashi siblings.
Beyond Generations
After the Deadmans reawakened Diablo, Daiji arrived at the abandoned Shocker base to confirm the theft of the Diablo Stamp. As the Earth's future is being threatened, this prompted Fenix's Kamen Riders to join forces with the Sword of Logos. They would also encounter time-displaced Shocker scientist Ryunosuke Momose, who sought to make amends with Hideo, his young son he left behind in 1971, who is now an adult in 2021.
Daiji joins Vice, Sakura, Touma, Rintaro, and Yuri to venture to the future, while Ikki stayed behind in the present to help defeat Diablo. He would meet an elderly George Karizaki, who assisted the heroes by granting them to access to Clone Riders forms. Daiji would assume the forms of Kamen Riders Knight, Meteor, and Ryugen. Upon returning to the present, Kamen Rider Live would join forces with Espada to battle the Edison Crisper.
Dismantling the Deadmans' Operations
After the Fenix Skybase was raided by the Deadmans, Karizaki suspected Commander Wakabayashi is a traitor. Despite Hiromi vehemently denying these claims, he nevertheless engaged in a stakeout with Daiji and Karizaki to catch Wakabayashi in the act. Hiromi broke down in tears after learning that the Chameleon Deadman had murdered and impersonated Wakabayashi, while Daiji was left shocked by the revelation.
Fenix was still recovering after the Chameleon Deadman seized the Giff Stamp while disguised as Commander Wakabayashi. The only clue to the location of the Deadmans' base is Kagero, as they aim to stop Giff's resurrection. Against Daiji's wishes, Ikki and Sakura knocked him out to awaken Kagero. The heroes managed to discover the Deadmans' base, and Daiji led his squad to raid Giff's ceremony. Daiji continued to fight as Kamen Rider Live to shut down the Deadmans' operations.
Battle of Darkness and Light
With the rest of the Deadmans generals now scattered, Daiji's workload was no lesser than before as all Fenix's efforts prioritized finding Orteca, who was in possession of the Giff Stamp to unleash the Gifftarians. Daiji began to notice Hiromi's weakening health, though was asked to not worry. Following the operation to capture Orteca, Daiji is informed that there's a demon hidden in the Demons Driver. While this made him suspicious of Fenix, Daiji felt conflicted due to his position as a captain.
The next day, Orteca escaped from Fenix's custody and obtained the Demons Driver. Daiji confronts Orteca at the Fenix Skybase hangar, and watches him transform into a Kamen Rider Demons. On the ground, Live was overwhelmed and defeated by Orteca's great power. Knowing that time would run out, Hiromi warned Daiji not to trust Fenix and entrusted the future to the Igarashi siblings, before being knocked off a cliff.
With Hiromi missing, Daiji became further conflicted over his loyalty to Fenix. He becomes determined to avenge his comrade and stop Orteca. Due to Giff's resurgence, Daiji becomes afflicted with severe headaches. This allows Kagero to resurface and tempting him to give up control over his body. Eventually, his father Genta resurfaces as Kamen Rider Vail. It would be revealed that because their father has Giff's genes, the Igarashi siblings are connected with Giff.
When Kagero resurfaced for the last time, Daiji separated from his demon in a battle for supremacy. The two transform and battle fiercely. Live gradually overwhelms Evil, while the latter strived for Daiji to not hesitate despite his poor condition. After he prevailed, the dying Kagero gives Daiji the Holy Wing Vistamp before vanishing. This gave Daiji access to become Kamen Rider Holy Live. He resolved to use his new power to defeat Orteca, but was forced to deal with a rampant Jack Revice. Daiji would push himself to fight Orteca until the latter was defeated by a reformed Kamen Rider Revice. Daiji decides to stay with Fenix to flush out the "internal rot" within the organization.
The Giff Uprising
Having grown suspicious towards Director Akaishi, Daiji devotes himself to restoring Fenix's righteousness. In time, he uncovers Akaishi's relationship with Giff and became more determined to stop him. Although Daiji tries to live up to Hiromi's honor, but the pressure he pushes onto himself began taking its toll on his mental wellbeing. Karizaki explains that since humans operate between good and evil sides, Daiji became unbalanced since Kagero was no longer a part of him. Since then, Daiji was forced to endure several losses after Akemi Mikoshiba was turned into Giffdemos and Akaishi depleted most of Fenix's forces.
Akaishi would take advantage of Daiji's unhinged state, manipulating him to join his side. Despite Ikki wanting to stop Giff, Daiji sought prioritizing to save humanity by encouraging people to join Giff. This ends up causing a rift between his siblings. After Daiji misunderstood Ikki's efforts to save Akemi, blaming him for her apparent death, causing Hiromi to intervene. Hiromi warns him to not let his righteousness get the better of him. Instead, Daiji decided to stay in Fenix and continue serving Akaishi.
At this point, Daiji completely turned against his siblings and allies who stood his way. As Weekend begin to mobilize their efforts to rally the public away from Fenix's untruths, Daiji led a horde of Giff Juniors to assault the Weekend shelter. Despite his efforts to persuade the refugees to obey Giff, Daiji's words were harshly rejected and he angrily sent the rampaging demons to kill them. He would also battle Ultimate Revice and Jeanne, disillusioned that they no longer understand his efforts in saving the world. After Holy Live got defeated by Ultimate Vice deflecting back his own finishing attack, he threatened his own siblings only to be slapped in the face by Sakura, prompting Vail to intervene and take them back to Ararat. Daiji scheduled a fight against Ultimate Revice, and declared to Akaishi that this was the perfect chance to take down humanity's number one enemy. On the battlefield near Ararat, Ikki reminisces to Daiji about how they used to resolve arguments back as children, but Daiji rebuffed it as a ridiculous joke, and although Ikki remarked how he had to prioritize his family first, Daiji still exclaimed that was the exact reason why he hated his brother, leading to a fight between Holy Live with Vail's unrequested assistance and Ultimate Revice that ended with Ultimate Revice's victory before Akaishi intervened and teleporting Daiji away after having brutally defeated the Weekend Riders and killing Tasuke Ushijima.
After Genta Igarashi decided to settle his 25-year-long conflict with Vail, Daiji decided to assist Giffdemos (Akaishi) in fighting Ultimate Revice as Holy Live but Jeanne defeated and begged Daiji to watch their father as he wanted to show his second son a different path. After both battles ended, Daiji almost returned to his family but got distracted by Giff's arrival who ambushed them with a horde of numerous Giff Juniors. All of them were able to escape thanks to Over Demons' assistance.
Upon witnessing the veracity of Giff's power in his very eyes, Daiji grew impatient with Akaishi and fatally shoots him at his most vulnerable. He tries requesting Giff to forming a contract with as a means to spare humanity, but was stopped twice before he could do so. After facing Hiromi as Kamen Rider Demons in a fierce battle, Daiji is then encouraged to stop running away from his past and admit his fears. Tearfully calling Kagero back to life for help, he reunites with his inner demon and uses the Perfect Wing Vistamp to become Kamen Rider EvilytyLive. Daiji returns to the light and promptly aid his siblings and their inner demons to destroy Giff and his forces.

Battle Familia
Price of Transformation
Several weeks have passed and the Igarashi family return to a peaceful life. When Daiji planned to rebuild Fenix, he finds the Demons Troopers had been ambushed. He learned that Hana and Tamaki were attacked by Kamen Rider Juuga, who turns out to be George Karizaki. Daiji and Sakura would also learn that Ikki is losing memories of their family and could no longer recognize their parents. Although they try to plead with Karizaki by surrendering their belts, Daiji and Sakura had to fight Karizaki once the situation escalated but found themselves overwhelmed by Juuga's strength.
Forced with the option to have his brother confront Juuga, Daiji and Sakura visit Hana and Tamaki in the hospital. After a deep conversation, he decided to support Ikki's battle against Karizaki to solve the scientist's internal issue. He would watch Ikki and Vice's duel against Karizaki with Sakura and Hiromi anxiously. When Juuga is defeated, Daiji and Sakura go to congratulate Ikki, but was saddened upon discovering his brother had lost the memories of his siblings as well.
With Ikki losing all memories of the entire family, Daiji is forced to watch his brother moving out of Happy Spa. However, he couldn't accept the fact that Ikki had forgotten his entire family. When Vice gathered the entire family and their friends, Daiji joins along his plan to trick Ikki into fighting him for the contract would end. However, doing this would result in Vice disappearing. While this plan appeared to have worked, Ikki began to realize something is wrong and easily deduced Vice and everyone had orchestrated their final battle.
Daiji watched as Ikki and Vice transformed into Ultimate Revice, deciding to battle on much friendlier terms. Everyone present was able to tearfully laugh in happiness and cheer on for the both of them. As the battle concluded, Daiji watched Ikki and Vice's final moments and with that, Ikki's memories of his family are restored. A few months later, Daiji would begin building a new organization called Blue Bird alongside Hiromi, Hana, and Tamaki while living a happy life with his family.

Juuga VS Orteca
Personality
Daiji is a clear-headed yet shy and prideful young man. He is somewhat submissive, generally meaning well but lacking confidence and often the necessary willpower. While he loves his family dearly, he suffers from an inferiority complex towards his older brother Ikki, whom he felt was constantly the center of attention. When Ikki became the Kamen Rider that Daiji was supposed to be, Daiji's pent-up frustration at being overshadowed yet again led to the awakening of Kagero, who often possessed Daiji. Eventually with Ikki's help, Daiji is now able to keep Kagero under control while believing in his own strengths again.
After choosing to discard Kagero's help entirely, Daiji's resolve and sense of justice strengthened greatly but his righteousness eventually got the better of him, gradually turning him into a brash and emotionally reckless individual. This would evidently cost him greatly, resulting in a series of crippling defeats from Hideo Akaishi as Daiji desperately clings onto his beliefs that Fenix was supposed to do what was right for humanity.
After witnessing Giff's sheer power, Daiji began to genuinely believe that humanity had to submit to Giff for the greater good in preserving the safety of humanity, putting him at odds with his siblings over their differing beliefs. Eventually, Akemi's death would be the final straw for Daiji, fully placing the two brothers on opposing camps as the war over Giff reaches its peak. Ultimately, Daiji's actions stem from a profound sense of hurt and loneliness, as no one was able to truly understand him, including his own family whom he would briefly see as enemies for getting in his way. After both his father's and Hiromi's efforts, he finally realized his inner weaknesses and eventually desired for Kagero to return. This not only restores Daiji back to normal, but he now also accepts Kagero as a part of him.
Daiji has an extremely low tolerance for spicy food, a trait not shown with Kagero.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Giff's Offspring Physiology: As a child of the man who's infused with Giff's DNA, Daiji can safely transform into a Kamen Rider using the Vistamp system.
- Inner Demon Control: Although Daiji's hidden resentment towards Ikki had initially allowed Kagero to let loose, his elder brother's encouragement motivated him to break free and suppress Kagero. After Daiji managed to gain control of his inner demon, the two are now able to switch places whenever Daiji's physical body receives a strong enough force to knock him out and render the dominant personality unconscious. When Kagero vanished in Episode 26, this control was formerly no longer in effect. After his return, Daiji regains this ability, but is now able to let Kagero take control at will and vice versa.
Abilities
- Skilled Combatant: As a member of Fenix, Daiji is trained in unarmed combat against the Deadmans.
- Skilled Marksman: Daiji is a skilled firearms user, capable of vanquishing several Giff Juniors with his gun. He has mastered the usage of the Livegun that comes with the Two Sidriver and can dual wield it with an Ohinbuster50 in Gun Mode effortlessly.
- Tactician: Compared to his siblings who are brawlers, Daiji is more so of a strategist in battle. Daiji was able to recognize a trap set by the Deadmans designed to keep the Kamen Riders away from their intended target. Additionally, he was able to devise a plan to seal Giff back into his own domain using Ultimate Revice's powers.
Former Weaknesses
- Giff: Due to Daiji possessing an inner demon of his own, he would eventually also suffer side effects as a result of Giff growing stronger. However, his case is the inverse of Vice, as Daiji is the one who suffers from immense headaches, while Kagero's strength continues to grow relative to Giff's empowerment. During Kagero's absence with the Holy Wing Vistamp, this weakness theoretically negated.
- Inner Demon Absence: Due to Kagero's absence, it was theorized by George Karizaki that since humans operate between their good and evil aspects, Daiji had become unbalanced since Kagero's presence was suppressed. Furthermore, he becomes more brash and reckless with each defeat he suffers. After Kagero resurfaced from the Holy Wing Vistamp (now evolved into the Perfect Wing Vistamp), Daiji returned to how he was beforehand.

- Livegun: This finisher has four variations.
- Live gathers gold energy at the end of the Livegun's barrel before firing a volley of gold blade-shaped energy projectiles while performing a cartwheel.
- Gold light appears at the end of the Livegun's barrel before Live turns around and fires numerous gold blade-shaped energy projectiles at a group of enemies.
- Gold light appears at the end of the Livegun's barrel before Live fires a large blast of gold energy sound waves at close range, launching the enemy away.
- Live fires two volleys of gold blade-shaped energy projectiles at the enemy from close range. He then places the Livegun's barrel against the opponent's body and fires more blade-shaped projectiles at point-blank range, pushing the enemy backward.
- Driver: Live jumps into the air while green energy flows from the Two Sidriver and into his lower leg before performing a flying kick. The energy is then released in the form of green liquid that rearranges into a bat shape and changes color, culminating in a white bat construct surrounded by spiraling golden energy. The bat construct flies alongside Live's kick before both strike the enemy, creating a gold shockwave upon impact. The bat construct then disappears into the point of impact before Live's kick breaks past the enemy, leaving behind a golden sonic boom.
- Livegun: This finisher has four variations.
- Bat Justis Finish (バットジャスティスフィニッシュ, Batto Jasutisu Finisshu): Varies depending on which mode the Two Sidriver is in.
- Livegun + Ohinbuster50 finishers:
- Bat Justis Finish + Ohing Strike: Gold energy gathers at the end of the Livegun's barrel while a cyan projection of the Ohinstamp's seal appears in front of the Ohinbuster50's barrel along with several blank pink and blue energy stamps. Live then fires both weapons, creating a blue projection of the Ohinstamp's seal and a gold projection of the Bat Vistamp's seal along with a burst of gold energy. A large gold blade-shaped energy projectile is fired from the Livegun while a ball of blue energy is fired from the Ohinbuster50. The two projectiles pierce the opponent, leaving large holes.

Kamen Rider Holy Live (仮面ライダーホーリーライブ, Kamen Raidā Hōrī Raibu) is Live's albino crow-based super form accessed by using the Holy Wing Vistamp in the Two Sidriver.
All of Holy Live's statistics exceed those of Jack Revice. Compared to Kamen Rider Vail, all of Holy Live's statistics are lower with the exception of jump height, which is higher. Using the Innocence Wings (イノセンスウイング, Inosensu Uingu) on his back, Holy Live gains the ability to fly. He can also cover himself with the wings in order to protect himself from enemy attacks. By temporarily transforming himself into a mass of white feathers, Holy Live is able to avoid enemy attacks. In addition to using the Livegun normally, Holy Live can use the wing extending from the Holy Wing Vistamp as a blade for melee attacks and can perform blue energy slashes with it. Holy Live can also fire a beam that upon striking the enemy restrains them in a spherical blue energy field.
After falling to the devil's side and becoming more negative and ruthless, Holy Live's fighting style becomes more powerfully aggressive as a result, as shown when he sent Kamen Rider Aguilera flying with just a single punch. This also makes him capable of fighting on the same level as Ultimate Revice, both on whom have had their power levels enhanced using Giff's genes.
Daiji lost access to this form after the Kagero was released from the Holy Wing Vistamp which evolved into the Perfect Wing Vistamp.

- Holy Justis Finish (ホリージャスティスフィニッシュ, Hōrī Jasutisu Finisshu): Varies depending on which mode the Two Sidriver is in.
- Driver: This finisher has two variations.
- Holy Live flies into the air and performs a flying kick with his leg covered in light blue energy, creating a shockwave. A dome of blue energy then forms around Live as he approaches the opponent. The kick produces a shockwave of light blue energy upon impact before a mass of white feathers is scattered into the air. Soon afterwards, the enemy explodes.
- Holy Live performs a flying kick covered in light blue energy through a crowd of enemies, destroying them and resulting in multiple explosions.
- Holy Live jumps forward and extends his wings as his lower leg glows. He then performs a flying kick with his leg surrounded by spiraling cyan energy. Upon the kick striking the enemy, more of the spiraling cyan energy is produced and surrounds Live's entire body.
- Livegun: This finisher has four variations.
- Holy Live parries the attack of an enemy using the Livegun's blade before delivering a cyan energy slash to a second opponent. He then charges cyan energy at the end of the Livegun's barrel and fires several cyan blade-shaped energy projectiles into the first enemy at close range, causing them to explode.
- Holy Live spins and uses the Livegun's blade to release several blue and cyan energy slashes around himself. The energy slashes form a full circle and destroy any enemies near Live, resulting in multiple explosions.
- Holy Live charges the Livegun for an extended period of time, with swirling cyan and dark blue energy appearing at the end of the barrel as a large cyan blade-shaped energy projectile is formed. He then fires the projectile at the enemy, producing a blue shockwave. The projectile is surrounded by additional cyan and dark blue energy before striking the target.
- Cyan energy gathers at the end of the Livegun's barrel, which is pointed towards the enemy at point blank range. Holy Live then fires several several cyan blade-shaped energy projectiles surrounded by additional cyan and black energy. The projectiles pierce through the enemy's body and leave cyan sparkles in the air.
- Driver: This finisher has two variations.

- Evilyty Perfect Finish (エビリティパーフェクトフィニッシュ, Ebiriti Pāfekuto Finisshu): Varies depending on which mode the Two Sidriver is in.
- Evilblade: Live swings the Evilblade, creating a series of teal energy slashes with energy blades embedded in them. The energy slashes strike multiple enemies in succession, resulting in them exploding. Live then briefly transforms into Kamen Rider Evil and swings again while running, creating two back-to-back energy slashes to attack more enemies. Upon returning to normal, Live manifests a teal energy copy of Kamen Rider Evil beside him. The two Riders swing their Evilblades downward, causing a single energy slash to slice though a group of enemies. The copy of Evil disappears as the enemies explode.
- Livegun: Live covers the wing of the Perfect Wing Vistamp in teal energy and uses it to deliver a teal energy slash to the opponent. The attack leaves behind black and white feathers before causing the enemy to explode.
- Evilyty Perfect Finale (エビリティパーフェクトフィナーレ, Ebiriti Pāfekuto Fināre): Varies depending on which mode the Two Sidriver is in.
- Driver: This finisher has two variations.
- Live flies up to an airborne enemy while covered in green energy. He then performs a flying kick with his foot covered in cyan energy as he produces a large trail of multicolored energy. After the kick strikes the enemy, a teal energy copy of Kamen Rider Evil appears beside Live. The two kick the enemy again, producing cyan energy upon impact. The enemy is launched away as a result, leaving behind a a trail of multicolored energy themselves.
- Live jumps into the air and performs a flying kick with his wings extended. His entire body is surrounded by teal, green, and black energy, while additional strands of clear energy flow from his foot.
- Livegun: This finisher has three variations.
- Cyan light appears at the end of the Livegun's barrel before Live fires a sustained barrage of bladed projectiles made of black and white energy, with the barrel producing a cyan shockwave every time Live fires. He aims to the side while continuing to fire, attacking a line of enemies. The projectiles impale each opponent, causing them to explode.
- While flying through the air, Live disappears into a mass of feathers before reappearing in front of the enemy. He charges teal energy at the end of the Livegun's barrel before firing a large bladed projectile made of teal energy at close range. After the projectile strikes the enemy, it is followed by a beam of cyan energy fired from the Livegun.
- Waves of teal energy appear around the end of the Livegun's barrel before Live fires a volley of bladed projectiles made of teal energy. The projectiles are surrounded by semicircles of teal energy as they fly through the air before striking several enemies. Live then fires a cyan energy beam surrounded by additional black energy at a final target, producing a cyan shockwave upon impact. After striking the opponent, the beam traps them in a sphere of cyan energy covered by black and white feathers.
- Driver: This finisher has two variations.

Two Sidriver Buckle (ツーサイドライバーバックル, Tsū Saidoraibā Bakkuru): Allows any of the Geats Riders to access Live Form, which is equipped with the Livegun. It is based on Kamen Riders Live & Evil, as well as their transformation belt, the Two Sidriver.
- Kamen Rider Live (仮面ライダーライブ, Kamen Raidā Raibu)
Relationships
Family
- Ikki/Kamen Rider Revi: Daiji's older brother whom he secretly resents, especially after witnessing Ikki successfully use the Revice system when he couldn't. Eventually, due to his support when breaking free of Kagero's influence, becoming Live, he continuously fights alongside his brother against the Deadmans (and later Giff). However, the manipulations of Fenix's director would eventually drive a wedge between the two brothers once again due to their differing beliefs, with Akemi's death being the final straw in redirecting Daiji's anger and resentment towards his brother yet again. As the war against Giff reaches its peak, Daiji now deems his brother as a threat towards humanity itself, as Ikki's actions, while in the name of wanting to protect people's happiness, have ended up costing more lives than needed, going against Daiji's own beliefs of preserving the peace. After he realized the error of his ways and regains Kagero, Daiji would make peace with Ikki and fight alongside him again.
- Sakura/Kamen Rider Jeanne: Daiji's little sister whom he tries to keep out of trouble. Eventually though, becoming Jeanne changed his opinions of her as he fights alongside her in battle. However, due to Weekend's actions, Daiji's anger would extend towards Sakura as well, since she was siding with Weekend. After he realized the error of his ways and regains Kagero, Daiji would make peace with Sakura and fight alongside her again.
- Yukimi: Daiji's mother who worries for him when it came to him and Ikki. She was one of the first to realize that Daiji was experiencing several troubles of his own, and was determined to keep Happy Spa safe, up and running, such that Daiji could still have a home to return to once he had overcome his troubles.
- Genta/Kamen Rider Vail/Kamen Rider Destream: Daiji's father who is proud of his achievements at Fenix. After regaining memories of his past, Genta becomes much more concerned for his second son, having already witnessed his ordeal with Kagero. Genta expresses hopes that the family will be able to go on an onsen trip again once Daiji returns home.
Friends
- Blue Bird
- Hiromi Kadota/Kamen Rider Demons (I): Daiji's former commander from Fenix who he highly looks up to and stands by in battle. He worries about him due to the side effects of using the Demons Driver. Hiromi eventually leaves Fenix until Orteca takes the Demons Driver, blasting him off a cliff. Daiji fights Orteca to avenge his superior, until he learns that he somehow survived the downfall but had seemingly lost his memories in the process. Hiromi would later return just as Daiji was going through a personal crisis of his own, though his words of warning would fall onto deaf ears. After numerous failed attempts to lead him to the right side, Daiji thanked Hiromi once his inner demon returned.
- George Karizaki/Kamen Rider Demons (III)/Kamen Rider Juuga: Fenix's scientist who created the Two Sidriver after learning of Daiji's inner demon Kagero, and gave Daiji the driver out of curiosity towards the dynamic between Daiji and Kagero. Though Daiji initially held a level of anger towards George over what happened with Hiromi, he eventually forgives him. George also becomes more concerned with Daiji's well-being as the two became more suspicious of director Akaishi's actions within Fenix.
- Tatsuhiko Tabuchi: tba.
- Hana Natsuki/(Kamen Rider) Aguilera: Once enemies when she was with the Deadmans, now allies. Hana fought Daiji to knock some sense into him for trying to kill his own family due to his blind justice. Last thing she doesn't want is to see Sakura cry.
- Go Tamaki/Julio/Kamen Rider Over Demons (II): to be added
- Kagero/Kamen Rider Evil: Although the two do not have a good relationship like Ikki and Vice, when Daiji is shocked by the existence of his inner demon, his hidden resentment ultimately proves to be stronger in comparison to his own weak will, enabling Kagero to possess Daiji effortlessly. However, thanks to Ikki's encouragement, Daiji was able to break free from Kagero's clutches and regain his own identity. Despite that, Daiji does not hesitate to ask Kagero for help if necessary, even for the location of the Deadmans. When the Holy Wing Vistamp was being made, Kagero knew that only one of them would be able to survive. After a battle between the two, Kagero is defeated by Daiji, but gave him his power to become Holy Live before passing away. When he returned, Daiji immediately accepted him as a part of himself as they become Evilyty Live against Giff.
- (Kamen Rider) Vice: Ikki's inner demon who he fights alongside. After taking up the Rolling Vistamp, Daiji almost suspected him betraying his brother, but realized that he was actually protecting him from Fenix. Daiji would later extend his anger towards Vice as well due to how they currently interfere with Fenix's affairs. This would later be resolved once Kagero returned.
- Lovekov/Kamen Rider Invincible Jeanne: Sakura's inner demon.
Allies
- Akemi Mikoshiba: A Fenix doctor who's concerned about Daiji due to his friendship with Hiromi. When she doesn't come back from spying on Akaishi, Daiji seeks them both, finding her a victim in the director's schemes with Giff. Daiji was particularly shocked and affected by what director Akaishi had done to Akemi, with Akemi's eventual death being the final straw in turning him to the devil's side.
- Weekend: The organization who marks him as an enemy. After realizing the error of his ways and regaining Kagero, Daiji would fully side with them.
- Masumi Karizaki: to be added
- Tasuke Ushijima: to be added
- Hikaru Ushijima/Kamen Rider Over Demons (I): to be added
- Nozomu Otani/Kamen Rider Chimera (II): to be added
Enemies
- Deadmans:
- Giff: Daiji's DNA, alongside his siblings', carries Giff's genes.
- Hideo Akaishi: The Fenix director whom Daiji doesn't trust due to his secretive behavior. He discovers the truth of his true allegiance to Giff and how he turned Akemi against them, turning her into one of Giff's servants. Though Daiji was intent on uncovering the director's dirty deeds, Akaishi was able to turn those intentions against him, delivering a series of crippling defeats towards him as he desperately clings onto his beliefs that Fenix was supposed to be doing what was right for humanity. Later, he begins to truly side with Akaishi, out of the belief that humanity can only preserve its own peace by submitting to Giff. In turn, Akaishi would treat Daiji with love as his own family, having sensed his deep-rooted loneliness. Unfortunately for Akaishi, Daiji kills him.
- (Kamen Rider) Orteca/Demons (II): When Orteca stole the Demons Driver becoming the next Demons after Hiromi, he vowed to take him down especially after witnessing his comrade get thrown off a cliff in their fight. Daiji vowed to avenge him. Even after gaining Holy Wing from Kagero, causing him to lose Vail and the Demons Driver, things went worse when Orteca continuously turns innocent victims into Gifftarians.
- Chameleon Deadman:
- Yasushu Kudo:
- Azuma/Kamen Rider Daimon: to be added
Legend Riders
- Keiwa Sakurai/Kamen Rider Tycoon: to be added
Others
- Vail: Daiji initially viewed Vail with disdain due to the demon's history with Daiji's father. However, after Daiji turned against his siblings and began truly siding with Fenix's corruption, Vail took an interest in Daiji due to their special circumstances; Daiji being a human who lost his inner demon and Vail being a demon who cut ties with his human host. Vail offers to become Daiji's replacement demon, though Daiji rejects his assistance, being adamant on doing things on his own.
Behind the Scenes
Portrayal
- Daiji Igarashi is portrayed by Wataru Hyuga (日向 亘, Hyuga Wataru). As a child, he is portrayed by Atsuki Yamada (山田 暖絆, Yamada Atsuki).
- As Kamen Rider Live, his suit actor is Yuji Nakata (中田 裕士, Nakata Yūji), who previously suit acted as Kamen Rider Espada. This is Nakata's first Secondary Rider role due to Eitoku taking the role of Vice instead, though he would later wear the suit in Revice Forward: Kamen Rider Live & Evil & Demons.[8]
Etymology
- Like the rest of his family, his surname contains the kanji for "fifty" (五十嵐), likely a nod to Revice commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Kamen Rider franchise.
- Daiji's first name contains the kanji for "two" (大二), possibly referencing his status as both the Igarashi second-born son and the Secondary Rider of Kamen Rider Revice. It might also allude to him being the user of the Two Sidriver.
- Live is a levidrome of Evil, as Daiji is a heroic Rider in contrast to Kagero, though his heroic position would be ironically inverted for some time.
- Evilyty is derived from the word "evility", meaning the state or instance of being evil. EvilytyLive is a palindrome, combining the words "Evil" and "Live".
Meme
- In Episode 39, while Daiji watches Weekend's forces battling the Giff Juniors and Hell Gifftarians on a laptop, Daiji furiously punches the monitor after Kimiko Ushijima's death. This scene has been subject to several memes, commonly imagining scenarios where Daiji would get enraged after seeing something on the internet.[9]
Notes
- Daiji's transformation pose is identical to Ikki's, except reversed.
- Of the Igarashis, Daji's demon is the only one to manifest itself as an alternate version of its host instead of a monster or anthropomorphic being.
- Kamen Rider Live's catchphrase, "Let's settle this seriously!" (大事に決めようか!, Daiji ni kimeyou ka!) is a pun on Daiji's own name.
- Wataru Hyuga has stated that his portrayal of Daiji is based on Loki from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[10]
