The Transformation Dragon Fist Cross-Z Magma Knuckle (変身龍拳 クローズマグマナックル, Henshin Ryū Ken Kurōzu Maguma Nakkuru) is a knuckleduster-like item used to transform into Kamen Rider Cross-Z Magma. Similar to the Cross-Z Dragon, it is used in the Build Driver with the Dragon Magma Fullbottle inserted to transform. It can also be used as a weapon by Cross-Z in both his default and Cross-Z Magma forms.

History

After the remains of the Dragon Sclashjelly transformed into a black Fullbottle in Banjo's hand during Episode 30, Sento Kiryu used it to develop the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle. Sento originally planned to use the item himself, but gives it to Cross-Z after they infiltrate the Pandora Tower. Cross-Z uses it as a weapon and inserts the black Fullbottle, but to no effect. Instead, he is able to use it effectively on its own and with the Taka Fullbottle. In the battle with Blood Stalk in the following episode, the Fullbottle absorbs the energy of the Pandora Box and transforms into the Dragon Magma Fullbottle, which Banjo uses to transform into Cross-Z Magma for the first time.

Components

The Cross-Z Magma Knuckle is composed of the following parts:

• Drag Burn Knuckler (ドラグバーンナックラー, Doragu Bān Nakkurā): The striking destruction unit fixed to the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle. The striking surface is infused with the Dragon Sclashjelly, and it has the ability to absorb heat from the surroundings to increase the power of striking attacks. In addition, luminous energy is emitted from the four ducts when unleashing a charge attack.
• Dragonic Igniter (ドラゴニックイグナイター, Doragoniku Igunaitā): The button used when activating charge attacks. Pressing the button activates the CZM Volcanic Charger, which rapidly generates and compresses luminous energy. The luminous energy is released from the ducts on the striking surface as soon as the button is released, causing a large explosion when the punch hits. If a Fullbottle is loaded into the Fullbottle slot, a special charge attack with added properties becomes possible, and it can disable an enemy with a single blow in some cases.
• CZM Volcanic Charger (CZMボルケニックチャージャー, CZM Borukenikku Chājā): The special reaction blast furnace installed in the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle. In addition to converting the ingredients of the Dragon Magma Fullbottle into a fluid equipment called Variable Magma (ヴァリアブルマグマ, Variaburu Maguma) during transformation, it is responsible for generating luminous energy for transformation and charge attacks. It can also heat the absorbed Transgel Solid to ultra-high temperatures, increasing the amount of its ingredients by up to four times.
• Fullbottle Slot (フルボトルスロット, Furu Botoru Surotto): A Fullbottle slot built into the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle. It activates the Transgel Solid (トランスゲルソリッド, Toransugeru Soriddo) inside the loaded bottle with a special pulse and takes it inside.
• CZM Knuckle Transer (CZMナックルトランサー, CZM Nakkuru Toransā): The button used when transforming the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle. After loading the Dragon Magma Fullbottle in the slot, the transformation system is activated by pulling up the grip while pressing the button. At this time, the CZM Volcanic Charger is activated, and a large amount of Variable Magma is rapidly generated.
• Magma Break Grip (マグマブレイグリップ, Maguma Burei Gurippu): The grip. It is equipped with a motion detection system that optimizes attack behavior by recording and analyzing the enemy's behavior and the user's habits. It also reflects combat data obtained from video recordings of Ryuga Banjo's transformations into Kamen Rider Cross-Z and Cross-Z Charge, as well as from footage of his matches as a martial artist.
• CZM Knuckle Connector (CZMナックルコネクタ, CZM Nakkuru Konekuta): The connection terminal of the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle used when transforming. When the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle is loaded into the Build Driver, the Drag Burn Knuckler opens to the left and right, expanding the Driver's functions. Afterwards, it deploys the Magma Ride Builder (マグマライドビルダー, Maguma Raido Birudā), a special ladle directly connected to the CZM Volcanic Charger that pours Variable Magma from above the user's head. The Variable Magma reacts to the special pulses emitted by the Driver and transforms into a suit and weaponry.

Cross-Z's charged punch attack

Cross-Z can use the Magma Knuckle by itself as a knuckleduster weapon. Pressing the Dragonic Igniter without a Fullbottle inserted will boost the weapon's power and enable it to unleash a charged attack. This attack is several times more powerful when Cross-Z is already in Cross-Z Magma form.

Transformation

To transform, the user inserts the Dragon Magma Fullbottle into the Fullbottle Slot on the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle, flips the Magma Bray Grip to the top, and inserts the device into the Build Driver, causing the Drag Burn Knuckler to split down its middle and expose the inserted Fullbottle. After turning the Vortex Lever, the Magma Ride Builder is deployed behind the user and pours Variable Magma over them. The Variable Magma forms eight large serpentine dragon heads before cooling to become rock. The Magma Ride Builder then breaks the rock, revealing Cross-Z Magma.

By cranking the Vortex Lever a few times, Cross-Z Magma can perform the Volcanic Attack (ボルケニックアタック, Borukenikku Atakku): Cross-Z Magma leaps in the air accompanied by numerous Variable Magma dragons that attack the target before converging around Cross-Z's foot in the form of bright yellow lava. Cross-Z then performs a flying kick that creates a large explosion upon impact, with the Variable Magma dragons separating once again.

By cranking the Vortex Lever many times, Cross-Z Magma can perform the Volcanic Finish (ボルケニックフィニッシュ, Borukenikku Finisshu), which has two variations:

• Cross-Z Magma performs a rapid series of flaming punches before his body is covered in lava and he delivers a final punch strong enough to launch the enemy.
• Cross-Z Magma is covered in lava before launching several magma dragons from his arms that home in on surrounding enemies.

With the Hazard Trigger attached to the Build Driver, Cross-Z Magma can perform an enhanced version of the Volcanic Finish: Lava covers Cross-Z's body before he performs several punches covered in fire.

By inserting a Fullbottle into the top of the Magma Knuckle before pressing the Dragonic Igniter, Cross-Z can perform the Volcanic Knuckle (ボルケニックナックル, Borukenikku Nakkuru).

• Taka: Cross-Z punches the enemy with the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle, which then projects orange energy hawk wings before Cross-Z delivers a powerful uppercut that launches the enemy into the air.
• Dragon Magma: This finisher has three variations:
  • Cross-Z Magma is covered in lava before charging the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle with fire and performing a punch that creates a fire construct of a dragon which strikes the enemy and pushes the them back.
  • Cross-Z Magma leaps toward the enemy and performs a punch while surrounded by a giant Variable Magma construct of a dragon.
  • Cross-Z Magma's entire body is covered in fire while he runs toward the enemy and punches them.
• Silver Dragon: Cross-Z Magma uses the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle to deliver a powerful punch covered in silver flames that creates a large shockwave upon impact.

Behind the Scenes

Portrayal

The Cross-Z Magma Knuckle is voiced by Norio Wakamoto (若本 規夫, Wakamoto Norio), who previously voiced Rey Kivat and Arc Kivat in Kamen Rider Kiva: King of the Castle in the Demon World, and the Sclash Driver.

Notes

Eight dragons manifested from Variable Magma.

• The serpentine dragons manifesting during Cross-Z Magma's transformation sequence resemble that of the Yamata-no-Orochi, a eight-headed, eight-tailed mythical Japanese dragon.  In addition, the eight dragons are recreated into the Cross-Z Magma suit, one on the faceplate, another on the chest, two on the shoulder pads, two on arm guards, and lastly two on the leg guards.
• Following the general theme of chemistry involved in the transformations, much like the similarly designed Magma Ride Builder, the Cross-Z Magma Knuckle could represent smelting, as both the stabilization of the Dragon Magma Fullbottle and the transformation could be seen as Ryuga extracting power from a homogenized compound.
