Comel Amarga (コメル・アマルガ, Komeru Amaruga) was a former Stomach Inc. part-timer and the late younger brother of Rakia Amarga.
History[]
At some point in the past, Comel became addicted to Dark Snacks unbeknownst to Rakia. His addiction dug into Rakia's savings and was caught when Rakia noticed the money had been squandered, causing Comel to run away from home. Rakia later suspected that Comel had too been scouted as a part-timer, received modifications, and commanded to harvest Human Presses for Dark Snacks. A year before the series began, he tried to return home but was fatally wounded by Glotta Stomach and, filled with regret for ruining his own life, he ultimately died while in Rakia's arms.
According to Nyelv Stomach, Comel was indeed a part-timer for Stomach Inc. but was terminated some time ago.
Personality[]
Comel was a cheerful and kind-hearted boy, who always put other people's needs before him. But ever since Comel began to consume Dark Snacks, he became erratic and dishonest.

Behind the Scenes[]
Portrayal[]
- Comel Amarga is voiced by Kazutomi Yamamoto (山本 和臣, Yamamoto Kazutomi). His primary suit actor is Mutsumi Igarashi (五十嵐 睦美, Igarashi Mutsumi), with Suzuka Usami (宇佐見 紗風, Usami Suzuka) substituting for her in Episode 26.
Etymology[]
- Comel's name is derived from the Spanish and Portuguese word "Comer", meaning "eat", and Amarga is derived from the Spanish and Portuguese word for "bitter".
Notes[]
- The specific animal motif for Comel is unclear, although his suit actor Mutsumi Igarashi used the chipmunk emoji 🐿️ in reference to the character.[1]
- Unlike the vast majority of Kamen Rider or Super Sentai creatures, Comel's head has moving eyelids akin to Toho's Godzilla franchise. Most of the other creatures in the franchise limit any additional moving head parts to limited mouth movement.
