Suit Actors

This article is about a list of actors in the Kamen Rider Series.

A suit actor (スーツアクター, sūtsu akutā) is a member of a Japanese tokusatsu production who works similar to a stunt performer. However, the suit actor does all of his or her stunts while in a full costume that normally obscures their identity from the viewer and performs pantomime, as an actor's voice will generally be dubbed during after-recording (アフレコ, afureko).

Some suit actors also play their own characters. Indeed, the original Kamen Rider, Takeshi Hongo, was played by Hiroshi Fujioka, who also did his own stunts as Kamen Rider. He famously shattered his leg in a motorcycle stunt gone wrong, resulting in him being replaced by Takeshi Sasaki as a new rider, with Hiroshi Fujioka returning to the show alongside Sasaki after recovering. This is likely why, minus a few exceptions, no other actor performed as their own suit actor on Kamen Rider, the Super Sentai Series, or the Metal Hero Series.
