Seven Legendary Riders

This article is about a set of riders in the Kamen Rider Series.

The Seven Legendary Riders (七人伝説のライダー, Shichi-nin Densetsu no Raidā) are the first seven Kamen Riders: Takeshi Hongo (Kamen Rider 1), Hayato Ichimonji (Kamen Rider 2), Shiro Kazami (Kamen Rider V3), Joji Yuki (Riderman), Keisuke Jin (Kamen Rider X), Daisuke Yamamoto (Kamen Rider Amazon), and Shigeru Jo (Kamen Rider Stronger). The series these Riders originated from (Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider V3, Kamen Rider X, Kamen Rider Amazon, and Kamen Rider Stronger) were the first five series, a continuous run lasting from April 1971 to January 1976. An interesting point to notice is that all seven of these Showa-era Riders had their mechanic be Tobee Tachibana.

The seven Riders were first united during Kamen Rider Stronger. They also appeared as a group a few times in Kamen Rider (Skyrider), often shown operating separately from the Eighth Rider, Skyrider. It was only in Movie War Mega Max, however, a crossover movie between Kamen Rider Fourze and Kamen Rider OOO, that the group reappeared, separate from later Riders, and was referenced with a proper name by other characters.

The Seven Legendary Riders later appear again as a group in Super Hero Taisen where they take on Captain Marvelous (Gokai Red), although by the time of the final battle against Dai-Shocker and Dai-Zangyack, they're mixed with the various other Riders and Super Sentai heroes.

History

Stronger

New members of the Delza Army went to Japan from various points of the world to defeat Stronger and take over the country, but alongside them come various Riders who had been fighting against them in other points of the world. The first one was Shiro Kazami, Kamen Rider V3, who quickly joined Stronger in his battle after he defeat Marshal Machine but survives and escapes with V3 Kick.^{[The Man Who Returned! Stronger wouldn't be alone for long though, as Daisuke Yamamoto, Kamen Rider Amazon, and Keisuke Jin arrive and join the battle. ^{[Three Riders Vs. The Powerful Delza Army!]}

Afterwards, Stronger met Joji Yuki, Riderman, initially as a foe, but quickly becoming allies after V3 clears the misunderstanding between each other. V3 and Riderman leave and face the Delza Army troops who destroyed a dam, with Riderman facing Armored Knight and V3 taking on Commander Jishaku. However, Riderman is easily defeated and V3 is caught into a trap and is swallowed by a fissure.^{[Riders Captured! Long Live Delza!!]}

After General Shadow defeated, Stronger ends up losing contact with all other Riders, and captured by Marshal Machine, Commander Jishaku, and Armored Knight. However, Rider 1 and 2, by then thought to be just urban legends, reappear to rescue Stronger and challenge Marshal Machine. After Stronger rescue Rider 1 and 2 from Marshal Machine trap they have final duel against Marshal Machine and his subordinates. ^{[Appearance! Riders 1, 2!!]}

Amazon and X return, revealing that they had disappeared to rescue V3 and Riderman. With all 7 Riders together, they defeat Marshal Machine and other remaining Delza army members and march against the Great Leader of the Delza Army. During the battle, they learn that he was the same leader as Shocker's, Gel-Shocker's, Destron's, Black Satan's mysterious leader, and he was also behind GOD and Geddon. he impervious to the attacks of the Riders. However, the Seven Legendary Riders combine their powers and go into his body. There, they find a giant alien brain who self destructs himself in an attempt to kill all seven Riders, however, they all escape successfully and leave. Afterwards, they all leave together, but would fight again when a new evil appeared. ^{[Goodbye! The Glorious Seven Riders!]}

Later, Tobee Tachibana took some children to a Kamen Rider roadshow. Just as he was reminiscing about all the heroic modified humans he's lived alongside- Ichigō, Nigō, V3, Riderman, X, Amazon, Stronger and Tackle- the first seven Riders gradually shown up to greet him in their human guises, unrecognized by the crowds. When it's revealed that the kaijin onstage were 'real', not actors, the Riders transformed to save the crowd and Rider actors, uniting their power to defeat the Delzer Army's true leader, Great General Darkness in his hideout beneath the stadium. ^{[All Together! Skyrider

Several years after the defeat of the Delza Army, the organization Neo-Shocker moves ahead with terrorist attacks in various points of the world to push ahead their world domination plans. The seven Riders spread around the world to fight against the new threat. Eventually, Stronger returns to Japan, following reinforcements sent by Neo-Shocker to take over the country. Arriving there, Stronger meets and observes a new Rider there with interest, Hiroshi Tsukuba, who had been using the name "Kamen Rider", but was called "Skyrider" by Stronger. Stronger rescues Skyrider when he gets to his limit, and tells him about the seven Riders fighting around the world. Stronger trains Skyrider and, together, they fight and stop Neo-Shocker's operation. Afterwards, Stronger leaves Japan again to join up with the other Riders, while Skyrider remains there protecting it from Neo-Shocker's future plans. ^{[Two Kamen Riders, Who is Another?]}^{[Enter Stronger; Two Riders vs. Two Formidable Monsters]}

Neo-Shocker gathered an army of Second Generation Cyborgs in Japan, led by Gurand Bazarmy, known as the Strongest Cyborg on Earth, and also planned to launch a direct offensive with an experimental tank, the Varithium Cannon, led by Hirubiran. To save Japan, the seven Riders returned to Japan together and, alongside Skyrider, destroyed the experimental Varithium Cannon. However, they were soon challenged by Gurand Bazarmy and his troops. ^{[Tank and Kaijin the Second Generation Corps, Full Force of Eight Riders]}

The seven Riders spread around Japan to fight against various attacks from Neo-Shocker. However, Gurand Bazarmy stood in their way, moving with great speed between locations and making them unable to stop Neo-Shocker's plans. However, V3 and Stronger together managed to fight Bazarmy to a standstill and rescue an unconscious Skyrider. While he recovered, the Riders decided to give Skyrider a special training to defeat Gurand Bazarmy. V3 makes the proposal to Tsukuba Hiroshi, who accepts to put his life on the line to become stronger.

After Skyrider's training was finished and he powered up, all Riders left to face Neo-Shocker again. Skyrider faced Gurand Bazarmy, while the Legendary Seven fought against Neo-Shocker's Second Generation Cyborgs troops and crushed them. After the battle was over, the Seven Riders left Japan again, to fight Neo-Shocker all over the world, while Skyrider remained to protect Japan. ^{[Eight Riders' Great Training of Friendship]}

Seven Riders confront Neo-Shocker leader — In advance of Skyrider, the Seven Legendary Riders confronted the Great Leader once more.

Attending the call of Stronger and Rider 2, who had located Neo-Shocker's main base, in Japan, Rider 1, V3, Riderman and Amazon return from various countries around the world joining up as the Seven Legendary Riders again. Rider 1 takes leadership of the group, and they head to Neo-Shocker's underwater base, only to be faced with a giant dragon, the Great Leader of Neo-Shocker himself. The attacks of all Riders prove to be infective against the Great Leader, however, Stronger and Rider 2 motivate the others to continue fighting and they hold on long enough for Skyrider to arrive. Skyrider stuns the Great Leader by shooting his foot with a bowgun he stole from a Neo-Shocker member, and, using the opportunity, all Seven Legendary Riders hit the Great Leader with their Rider Kicks, knocking down the giant. However, he was still alive, and decides to detonate the Oxygen Destruction Bomb, which would destroy Earth's atmosphere completely. The eight Riders combine their powers and use Skyrider's Sailing Jump together, holding the Great Leader inside an energy barrier that contains the explosion's blast. However, all eight Riders seemingly perishing alongside it. ^{[Farewell, Hiroshi Tsukuba! Eight Heroes Forever....]}

After that battle, all eight Riders would reappear fighting against the Dogma Kingdom a few months later, with Skyrider becoming part of their group. Later, Super-1 and ZX also joined them. So, for years, that final battle against Neo-Shocker marked the last time the Legendary Seven Riders fought as a group separately from later Riders.

Movie War Mega Max

A meteor shower hit various points of Earth, bringing with it time anomalies, monsters and the interest of the shadowy organization Foundation X.

Kamen Rider 1 appears during the prologue, battling the forces of Foundation X alongside Kamen Rider 2 in Europe. Kamen Rider V3 and Riderman head to a meteor landing site in the Mediterranean islands, where they find a large army of Pseudo Yummies, fighting against them alongside Riderman. Kamen Rider X and Amazon head to a meteor landing site in the South America, where they find a large army of Stardust Ninja Dustard, fighting against them alongside Amazon. In the Middle East, holding off all three grunt types, Stronger fails to stop Foundation X from retrieving the SOLU.

Afterwards, all Seven Legendary Riders infiltrated a Foundation X secret airport to stop Lem Kannagi, who was leading a plan to control energy sources around the globe and also their operation regarding the meteors. However, they're all taken by a trap and Rider 1, 2, V3, and Riderman are sealed in Astro Switch while X rider, Amazon, and Stronger are sealed in Core Medal.

Later, Kamen Rider Fourze finds the seven sealed Riders, and with Kamen Rider OOO's help, releases all of them at once. V3 warns them that Kannagi will receive a full charge of cosmic energy if he reaches space, which would make him invincible according to Riderman, and he needs to be stopped now. Meanwhile copies of the Greeeds and Sonozaki Family Dopants approach the group, standing in their way. The Seven Riders stay behind facing them, while Fourze and OOO head to stop Lem Kannagi. Rider 1 battles the copy R Nasca, finishing it with his trademark Rider Kick. Rider 2 battles the copy Gamel, finishing it with his Rider Punch. V3 fights against a copy Claydoll Dopant and finished her off with his V3 Return Kick. Riderman fights against a copy Mezool and finished her off with his Rope Arm. X fights against a copy Uva and finished him off with his X Kick. Amazon fights against a copy Smilodon Dopant and finished it off with his Wild Slash. Stronger fights against a copy of the Terror Dopant and finished him off with his Stronger Electro Kick. Meanwhile, OOO and Fourze managed to stop Lem Kannagi in space. Afterwards, in a scene added to the movie's Director's Cut, the young Riders, and also another Rider from the future, Aqua, gave goodbye to each other and to the veterans, everyone parting ways afterwards. ^{[Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max]}

Super Hero Taisen

The Seven Riders face Gokai Red and are seemingly killed one by one. However, it turns out that it was all a plan to fool Dai-Shocker and Dai-Zangyack. The Seven Riders, alongside many other heroes, return for the final battle against the villains. ^{[Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen]}

Kamen Ride 1

With the Kamen Ride: 1 card, Kamen Rider Decade transforms into Kamen Rider 1 as seen in Super Hero Taisen. Previously, in All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa, including Kamen Rider 1, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target. Unlike his other Kamen Rides, Decade's Decadriver changes along with his costume, taking on the appearance of the Typhoon Belt. However, when Captain Marvelous (as Akarenger) strikes the "Typhoon" during battle, it seems to short out and changes back into the Decadriver, revealing "Rider 1" to be Decade after all.

1 Switch

1 Switch (1号スイッチ, Ichigō Suitchi, Cross): An Astroswitch bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider 1. In Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, it can be used by Kamen Rider Fourze to arm him with the 1 Module (1号モジュール, Ichigō Mojūru) on his right leg, boosting his kicking power and jumping height.

The 1 Switch appears on-screen in Movie War Mega Max, when the Seven Legendary Riders are captured by Lem Kannagi. Rider 1, along with Rider 2, V3, and Riderman, were turned into Switches (while X, Amazon, and Stronger were turned into Core Medals) and kept in a suitcase by a member of Foundation X. The Riders were able to return back to normal when Fourze inserted the Switches into the Fourze Driver and performed a Limit Break.

1 Ring (Green)

This Rider Ring which bears the likeness of Kamen Rider 1 is exclusive to Kamen Rider Wizard's Wizard Ring toyline. When used by a WizarDriver wearer, it would be able to summon Kamen Rider 1.

Kamen Rider 1 Lockseed (仮面ライダー１号ロックシード, Kamen Raidā Ichigō Rokkushīdo): A Lockseed bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider 1, created when Rider 1 was defeated in the battle between the Showa Riders and Heisei Riders. ^{[Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai]} The core image depicts the Typhoon while the lid backside image depicts Kamen Rider 1's Rider Kick gesture. When inserted into a Sengoku Driver or when channeled through the Showa Rider Lockseed, it would allow an Armored Rider to assume 1go Arms (１号アームズ, Ichigō Āmuzu). It is styled for Gaim, Kurokage, Bujin Gaim, and Kamuro in the toyline.

Signal Legend 1 (シグナルレジェンド１号, Shigunaru Rejendo Ichigō, Based on Rider 1's New Cyclone): Allows Mach to activate a Kourin Signal Legend. When used in the DX Drive Driver, it gives the sound for a Tire Exchange into Showa Rider.

Another 1 Watch (アナザー1号ウォッチ, Anazā Ichigō Wotchi): A twisted version of the 1 Ridewatch used to transform into Another 1.

Kamen Ride 2

Kamen Ride 2 (カメンライド２号, Kamen Raido Nigō) is the Kamen Ride Card which contains the power of Kamen Rider 2. In All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa Riders, including Kamen Rider 2, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target.

In theory, this card would allow Kamen Rider Decade to transform into Kamen Rider 2.

2 Switch

2 Switch (2号スイッチ, Nigō Suitchi, Square): An Astroswitch bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider 2. In Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, it can be used by Kamen Rider Fourze to arm him with the 2 Module (2号モジュール, Nigō Mojūru) on his left arm, boosting his punching power.

The 2 Switch appears on-screen in Movie War Mega Max, when the Seven Legendary Riders are captured by Lem Kannagi. Rider 2, along with Rider 1, V3, and Riderman, were turned into Switches (while X, Amazon, and Stronger were turned into Core Medals) and kept in a suitcase by a member of Foundation X. Kamen Ride Riderman

Kamen Ride Riderman (カメンライドライダーマン, Kamen Raido Raidāman) is the Kamen Ride Card which contains the power of Riderman. In All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa Riders, including Riderman, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target.

In theory, this card would allow Kamen Rider Decade to transform into Riderman.

Riderman Switch

Riderman Switch (ライダーマンスイッチ, Raidāman Suitchi, Circle): An Astroswitch bearing the likeness of Riderman. In Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, it can be used by Kamen Rider Fourze to arm him with the Rope Arm-like Riderman Module (ライダーマンモジュール, Raidāman Mojūru) on his right arm, allowing him to hit targets multiple times or to esnare them, akin to the Winch Module.

The Riderman Switch appears on-screen in Movie War Mega Max, when the Seven Legendary Riders are captured by Lem Kannagi. Riderman, along with Rider 1, Rider 2, and V3, were turned into Switches (while X, Amazon, and Stronger were turned into Core Medals) and kept in a suitcase by a member of Foundation X. The Riders were able to return back to normal when Fourze inserted the Switches into the Fourze Driver and performed a Limit Break.

Riderman Ring

This Rider Ring which bears the likeness of Riderman is exclusive to Kamen Rider Wizard's Wizard Ring toyline. When used by a WizarDriver wearer, it would be able to summon Riderman.

Riderman Lockseed (ライダーマンロックシード, Raidāman Rokkushīdo): A Lockseed bearing the likeness of Riderman, created when Riderman was defeated in the battle between the Showa Riders and Heisei Riders. ^{[Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai]} The core image depicts Riderman's belt while the lid backside image depicts the Rope Cassette Arm. When inserted into a Sengoku Driver or when channeled through the Showa Rider Lockseed, it would allow an Armored Rider to assume Riderman Arms (ライダーマンアームズ, Raidāman Āmuzu). It is styled for Gaim, Kurokage, Bujin Gaim, and Kamuro in the toyline.

Kamen Ride X

Kamen Ride X (カメンライドX, Kamen Raido Ekkusu) is the Kamen Ride Card which contains the power of Kamen Rider X. In All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa Riders, including Kamen Rider X, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target.

In theory, this card would allow Kamen Rider Decade to transform into X-Rider.

X Medal (Xメダル, Ekkusu Medaru): A Core Medal bearing the mark of Kamen Rider X. The X Medal appears on-screen in Movie War Mega Max, when the Seven Legendary Riders are captured by Lem Kannagi. X, along with Amazon and Stronger, were turned into Medals (while Rider 1, Rider 2, V3, and Riderman were turned into Astroswitches) and kept in a suitcase by a member of Foundation X. The Riders were able to return back to normal when OOO inserted the Medals into the OOO Driver and performed a Scanning Charge.

X Switch

X Switch (Xスイッチ, Ekkusu Suitchi, Cross): An Astroswitch bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider X. It is exclusive to Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, where it can be used by Kamen Rider Fourze to arm him with the X Module (Xモジュール, Ekkusu Mojūru) on his right leg, which has an extending Ridol-like part to enhance kicking damage.

X Ring

This Rider Ring which bears the likeness of Kamen Rider X is exclusive to Kamen Rider Wizard's Wizard Ring toyline. When used by a WizarDriver wearer, it would be able to summon X-Rider.

Kamen Rider X Lockseed (仮面ライダーXロックシード, Kamen Raidā Ekkusu Rokkushīdo): A Lockseed bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider X, created when X was defeated in the battle between the Showa Riders and Heisei Riders. ^{[Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai]} The core image depicts the Ridol while the lid backside image depicts the Ridol Stick. When inserted into a Sengoku Driver or when channeled through the Showa Rider Lockseed, it would allow an Armored Rider to assume X Arms (Xアームズ, Ekuksu Āmuzu). It is styled for Bravo and Knuckle in the toyline.

Kamen Ride Amazon

Kamen Ride Amazon (カメンライドアマゾン, Kamen Raido Amazon) is the Kamen Ride Card which contains the power of Kamen Rider Amazon. In All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa Riders, including Kamen Rider Amazon, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target.

In theory, this card would allow Kamen Rider Decade to transform into Amazon.

Final Attack Ride: Amazon

Attack Ride: GaGa no Udewa (アタックライドガガノウデワ, Atakku Raido: GaGa no Udewa, Attack Ride: GaGa Armlet): This card arms Decade Complete Form with the GaGa Armlet after Diend steals it from Llumu Qhimil, attaching to his right arm and giving Decade a portion of the ancient Inca artifact's energy. ^{[The Strong, Naked, Strong Guy]}

Final Attack Ride: Amazon (ファイナルアタックライドアマゾン, Fainaru Atakku Raido: Amazon): This card transfers the GaGa Armlet from Decade to Amazon's right arm, and allows Amazon to perform the Super Wild Slash (スーパー大切断, Sūpā Dai Setsudan) attack, used to destroy Llumu Qhimil. ^{[The Strong, Naked, Strong Guy]}

Amazon Core Medal

Amazon Medal (アマゾンメダル, Amazon Medaru): A Core Medal bearing the mark of Kamen Rider Amazon. The Amazon Medal appears on-screen in Movie War Mega Max, when the Seven Legendary Riders are captured by Lem Kannagi. Amazon, along with X and Stronger, were turned into Medals (while Rider 1, Rider 2, V3, and Riderman, were turned into Astroswitches) and kept in a suitcase by a member of Foundation X. The Riders were able to return back to normal when OOO inserted the Switches into the OOO Driver and performed a Scanning Charge.

Amazon Switch

Amazon Switch (アマゾンスイッチ, Amazon Suitchi, Square): An Astroswitch bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider Amazon. It is exclusive to Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, where it can be used by Kamen Rider Fourze to arm him with the Amazon Module (アマゾンモジュール, Amazon Mojūru) on his left arm, which would allow him to "chomp" on anything unfortunate to get caught in this Module's teeth.

This Rider Ring which bears the likeness of Kamen Rider Amazon is exclusive to Kamen Rider Wizard's Wizard Ring toyline. When used by a WizarDriver wearer, it would be able to summon Kamen Rider Amazon.

Kamen Rider Amazon Lockseed (仮面ライダーアマゾンロックシード, Kamen Raidā Amazon Rokkushīdo): A Lockseed bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider Amazon, created when Amazon was defeated in the battle between the Showa Riders and Heisei Riders. ^{[Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai]} The core image depicts the Condorer while the lid backside image depicts the GiGi Armlet. When inserted into a Sengoku Driver or when channeled through the Showa Rider Lockseed, it would allow an Armored Rider to assume Amazon Arms (アマゾンアームズ, Amazon Āmuzu). It is styled for Bravo and Knuckle in the toyline.

Kamen Ride Stronger

Kamen Ride Stronger (カメンライドストロンガー, Kamen Raido Sutorongā) is the Rider Card which contains the power of Kamen Rider Stronger. In All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa Riders, including Kamen Rider Stronger, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target.

In theory, this card would allow Kamen Rider Decade to transform into Stronger.

Stronger Medal (ストロンガーメダル, Sutorongā Medaru): A Core Medal bearing the mark of Kamen Rider Stronger. The Stronger Medal appears on-screen in Movie War Mega Max, when the Seven Legendary Riders are captured by Lem Kannagi. Stronger, along with X and Amazon, were turned into Medals (while Rider 1, Rider 2, V3, and Riderman were turned into Astroswitches) and kept in a suitcase by a member of Foundation X. Stronger Switch (ストロンガースイッチ, Sutorongā Suitchi, Circle): An Astroswitch bearing the likeness of Kamen Rider Stronger. It is exclusive to Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, where it can be used by Kamen Rider Fourze to arm him with the Stronger Module (ストロンガーモジュール, Sutorongā Mojūru) on his right arm, enhancing punching damage with an electrical charge.
