This article is about a Rider terminology in the Kamen Rider Series. |
Secondary Riders (2号ライダー, Ni-gō Raidā), also known as Second Kamen Riders (2nd 仮面ライダー, Sekando Kamen Raidā), are a subset of Supporting Riders that receive second billing in each installment of the Kamen Rider Series.
It is important to clarify that the Secondary Rider isn't necessarily the second debuting Rider or hold the second most significant role in the series' storyline. During production, Secondary Riders are identified to have the second largest focus on the marketing for toys and products, coming after the Primary Rider.

- Sakuya Tachibana is Kamen Rider Garren in Kamen Rider Blade. He usually stays friendly to Kazuma, despite having initially betrayed him due to Isaka's manipulation.
- Ibuki is Kamen Rider Ibuki in Kamen Rider Hibiki. As a fellow Oni, Ibuki is always friendly to Hibiki. This is the first Secondary Kamen Rider to be as such.
- Arata Kagami is briefly Kamen Rider TheBee before becoming Kamen Rider Gatack in Kamen Rider Kabuto. He is officially a secondary Rider, though he is the fifth Rider to appear. In-universe, Arata thought he was the chosen Kabuto, but the title went to Soji Tendo instead.

- Ryu Terui is Kamen Rider Accel in Kamen Rider W. He begins as an antihero obsessed with revenge and antagonistic towards Double before becoming a typical hero later in the series.

Kagero began as a villain who possessed Daiji and attempted to kill Revi. However, he would later begin to assist Daiji and his allies. Special Cases
- The original Hayato Ichimonji/Kamen Rider 2 replaced Takeshi Hongo/Kamen Rider 1 for a portion of the original Kamen Rider before the two teamed up afterwards. However, the version of the character from the reboot films Kamen Rider The First and Kamen Rider The Next, who was originally named Hayato Ichimonji, operated at the same time as the films' version of Kamen Rider 1. He begins as a villain working for Shocker before betraying them and aiding Kamen Rider 1.
- Another version of Hayato Ichimonji appears in the following reboot film, Shin Kamen Rider. Just like before, he operates at the same time as this movie's iteration of Kamen Rider.
- Jin Takayama is Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha in Kamen Rider Amazons. In Season 1, he serves as a deuteragonist and rival to the protagonist, Amazon Omega, like other secondary Riders despite being the first Rider to appear. In the majority of Season 2 he instead serves as a secondary antagonist.
- Isamichi Konjo is Kamen Rider Hattari in Kamen Rider Shinobi. He occupies the role of a secondary Rider.
- Nobuhiko Akizuki is Kamen Rider Shadowmoon in Kamen Rider Black Sun. He begins as a hero and ally before becoming a villain later in the series. He later becomes an ally once more at death.

Notes
- The name "2号ライダー" is also used to colloquially refer to Kamen Rider 2 himself, as much as Kamen Rider 1 is referred to in a similar vein as "1号ライダー".
- Although Toei has now confirmed Kamen Rider Garren to be the secondary Rider of Kamen Rider Blade,[19][20][21] the position was long debated to also belong to Kamen Rider Chalice due to Ryoji Morimoto having top billing over Kousei Amano during the show's run, even though other sources had already considered Chalice a "tertiary" Rider then.[22] Furthermore, promotional posts for Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer[23] and the packaging for the Rider Card Archives Neo 2 set displayed Chalice amongst the Secondaries.[24]
- The position of Secondary Rider has been predominately male, a record which was broken with Kamen Rider Majade, the franchise's first official female Secondary Rider.
