The lead Heisei-era Riders from Kuuga to Zi-O.

Heisei Era Riders are Kamen Riders appearing in media from the Heisei Period of Japan.

The Heisei Era started on January 8, 1989, but the Heisei-era Kamen Riders are considered by fans and Toei as Kamen Riders made after Shotaro Ishinomori's death, thus ending his involvement with the Kamen Rider Series.

Kamen Riders Shin, ZO, and J's films were released in the Heisei Era period, but had involvement with Ishinomori. Riders are classified by Era according to when their respective series aired in real life, rather than the setting of the series. Thus, Riders such as Kamen Rider Ixa, despite appearing during the Showa Era within their series, are not considered Showa Era Riders.

Personalities

"First is Double, and now you. Looks like Heisei Riders are not that easy to get along on each other."
"The conversation is over, move away!"
―Tsukasa Kadoya talked to Takumi Inui on how each Heisei Riders are selfish[src]

Different than Showa Riders who are mainly fighting for justice, Heisei Riders are fighting for what they believe is right. This lead to have Heisei Riders to be not easy for joining hands to face an evil force unless they are directly involved in the fight. Especially in Kamen Rider Ryuki, as all the riders are not fighting to save people, but to fight each other to the death.

On a funny note, even most of the Heisei Riders' main villain are not trying to take over the world but just to achieve a selfish ambition, including just want the destruction.

Legend Rider Devices

  • Rider Rush Wizard Ring (ライダーラッシュウィザードリング, Raidā Rasshu Wizādo Ringu): Comes in Showa and Heisei variations. Toy versions make the Wizardriver announce the names of the Showa Riders and the main Heisei Riders. Interestingly, when scanned on either the Wizardriver or White Wizard Driver, instead of Rider Rush, the belt says “Special Rush” followed by the names of the Riders.

  • Heisei Rider Lockseed (平成ライダーロックシード, Heisei Raidā Rokkushīdo): Allows Kamen Rider Fifteen to transform into any Rider Arms themed after the Heisei-Era Riders, equipped with a different Arms Weapon depending on the current set of Arms. The core image depicts colorful lights while the lid backside image depicts the symbol of Gaim. Only used for the Gaim/Kurokage/Bujin Gaim/Kamuro-styled Decade, Fourze, Wizard, and Gaim Arms in the movie.
    • Squash: (Rider) Squash ((ライダー) スカッシュ, (Raidā) Sukasshu)
    • Au Lait: (Rider) Au Lait ((ライダー) オーレ, (Raidā) Ōre)
    • Sparking: (Rider) Sparking ((ライダー) スパーキング, (Raidā) Supākingu)

"Kaigan: Heisei Rider! (Modified 1 transformation noise) Aratana Kousei! Kore wa Heisei! (Energy warble)"

The Kamen Rider 45 Ghost Eyecon (仮面ライダー45ゴースト眼魂, Kamen Raidā Yonjūgo Gōsuto Aikon) is a special Eyecon as a gift along with the Kamen Rider Ghost: Legendary! Riders' Souls! DVD. It has double sides, one is Kamen Rider and the other is Heisei. It appeared in the Wizard Chapter in Kamen Rider Ghost: Legendary! Riders' Souls! when Freya combined the 16 Legendary Eyecons together.

It shows the number 45 on its Startup Time setting, Heisei Damashii's face on its first Transformation Time setting and Kamen Rider 1's face on its second Transformation Time setting. Interestingly, if the Eyecon is turned upside down to access the Kamen Rider side, the Startup Time setting becomes "Sh", which is short for "Showa".

It is used by Ghost in the DVD-exclusive final chapter of Kamen Rider Ghost: Legendary! Riders' Souls! to transform into Heisei Damashii and Ichigou Damashii.
