Burn! Fight! Wrestler G! (燃えよ! 斗え! レスラーG!, Moeyo! Tatakae! Resurā Ji!) is the fifth episode of Kamen Rider Gotchard. It features the debut of Gotchard Antwrestler and Bulletchoucho Wild.
Synopsis[]
Seeking the teachings of Renge and Sabimaru who have sealed away a lot of Chemies, Houtarou and Rinne go to a certain professional wrestling Dojo with Renge and the others.
When Houtarou immediately tries to find a Chemy, he's attacked by gang-like men who are after the Dojo's land. However, Alchemy can't be used against ordinary people. In front of a confused Rinne and the others, Houtarou borrowed Renge cards and transformed into Gotchard! However this time, a powerful Malgam suddenly appears!
Plot[]
Early in the morning, Houtarou wakes up and helps his mother with opening up Kitchen ICHINOSE, feeling bad that he had been unable to help her during the evening hours last night. Tamami insists that he doesn’t have to overdo it and can go back to sleep, but her son says that helping the restaurant is just as important as his current goals at school.
Tamami asks about the new “club activities” he is participating in (indicating Houtarou or Rinne made a fake explanation about his Alchemy Academy activities). Houtarou says his new club is fun and he has made many new friends, with Hopper1 observing in the corner out of sight. Tamami is happy and relieved, she then remembers that Rinne came by the other day and had nothing but good things to say about her son and how he helped her. Houtarou honestly believes that it was Rinne that helped him out moreso, remembering the ordeal in the ant labyrinth.
He then recalls after being rescued by Supana that he and Rinne returned to the Academy and inquired to Mr. Minato about the Three Dark Sisters and their motives. He said that opening the Door of Darkness is the goal of the Sisters, which would trigger a cataclysm that would shroud the world in eternal darkness. While Houtarou in the present is concerned about this, he resumes chopping cucumbers for his mother.
Later at dusk, the Sisters discuss their next move on a building rooftop. Atropos insists to her younger siblings that they need to take a more proactive approach to manipulating the Chemies instead of waiting for them to come in contact with human malice, as “Master Glion” has ordered them to do the former. Clotho thinks that their boss is impatient, but Lachesis thinks that it is better than facing their wrath. Atropos instructs Clotho and Lachesis to find stronger Chemies to give rise to even stronger Malgam.
As evening falls, a wrestler named Golem Gouriki is wandering the city streets looking for a fight, attacking some punks who called him an idiot after Gouriki bumped into them. Clotho is intrigued by Gouriki’s brute strength and ferocity, like a mad beast, offering him the opportunity to unleash his full power.
The next day at the Academy, Houtarou notices that the Chemy cards all have numbers on them and that his Gotchard forms add the numbers to 10. Rinne says that is pretty common knowledge and nothing impressive.
Renge and Sabimaru walk in, with the latter having overheard their conversation and realizing that his classmates have last names that when the first parts are broken off read 1 and 9 and that adds to 10. Renge hears Sabimaru’s mumbling and asks what he is talking about but he says it is nothing using Issac and insists that Renge returns Kamantis. Renge does so and thanks Houtarou for the trade as the two of them caught a lot of Chemies using Kamantis, with Houtarou returning Sasukemaru and Energyl to her. He then asks them to see the cards they sealed, which Renge agrees to. They have captured: the butterfly Chemy, Gengenchoucho, the sniper Chemy Bulletbaang, the fire engine Chemy Hikkerescue, the scientist Chemy Doctorkozo, the cicada Chemy Bakuonzemi and the rose Chemy Flayrose.
Houtarou is impressed but Renge says that Sabimaru deserves the credit for capturing them and she just helps. Houtarou is amazed and asks the two to teach him how to capture Chemies, praising Sabimaru while Renge schemes to make each lesson ¥10,000 each. Sabimaru doesn’t know how to handle being praised by his junior classmate but is flattered and decides to skip the fee and show Houtarou how they operate in the field with Rinne tagging along.
The quartet track a Chemy to the Asahi Pro Wrestling Gym, with Renge sensing it nearby before the Chemy Riser reacts. The gym’s owner Koichiro Asahi rushes out yelling at them and attacks them with a wooden sword, thinking that they were Yakuza enforcers. The kids manage to calm him down by saying that they are students with Renge lying to him saying she wants to be a female wrestler, with Sabimaru objecting to her dishonesty. Houtarou tells the truth about their search for a Chemy, only for the very Yakuza thugs that Koichiro was worked up over to appear and demand that he leave the premises.
Koichiro explains that the Yakuza wants the land that his gym is on for an unknown reason, but he refuses to give it to them and so they constantly harass him to try to get him to leave. The thugs have pickaxes, sledgehammers and crowbars, ready to tear the gym apart at their boss’s command. Houtarou wants to use alchemy to save Koichiro’s gym but Rinne says using alchemy on normal humans is against the rules.
The goons are ordered by their boss to start wrecking the gym but the wrestler Chemy, Wrestler G, fights off the goons while possessing a wrestler action figure. Koichiro refers to Wrestler G as his “Tag Partner” and explains Tag Team Wrestling to the kids, in which two wrestlers form a bond of trust that can double, triple or even quadruple their power. The boss gets irritated and orders his men to quit messing around and get rid of Koichiro and company with guns.
Realizing that they are in real danger, Houtarou decides to break the rules and uses the Gotchardriver to become BulletChoucho Wild, a handgun that Rinne fires, creating a hallucinogenic image that calms the gang members down by showing a field of flowers and butterflies that they run and chase gleefully out the door. Houtarou thanks Gengenchoucho and Bulletbaang for the help and they make great “tag partners”. Koichiro thanks the kids for saving him, only for the victorious moment to be soured by Golem Gouriki showing up to challenge Koichiro to a fight, using his bloodlust to create malice to fuse with the gorilla Chemy, Gorillasensei, to become the Gorilla Malgam.
Houtarou becomes Gotchard SteamHopper in front of Renge and Sabimaru, who cannot believe that their junior classmate is a Kamen Rider, with him apologizing for not telling them sooner as he fights the Malgam. This doesn’t go well as Gorilla uses an aggressive wrestling move to overpower the hero and injure him: the Windmill Back Breaker. Valvarad appears to fight Gorilla, who retreats due to Supana’s armor having slightly greater strength than his, though he insults Houtarou as he leaves, calling him “baby face” and vows to fight him again.
Supana notices Wrestler G in the action figure and demands that he be handed over to him. Despite being hurt from the back breaker move earlier, Houtarou stands up to Supana, refusing to have Koichiro’s tag partner be separated from him with Rinne, Sabimaru and Renge backing him up. Supana is annoyed by this and just leaves. Houtarou suddenly collapses in pain from his injuries and is taken to the gym where Koichiro gives him a lidocaine patch.
He explains when asked about the Malgam that Gouriki was a former wrestler who often went on a rampage during fights to the point he would attack the audience as well as his opponents, causing several people to have severe injuries. This led to Gouriki being arrested and convicted for assault once and a rising star pupil of Koichiro’s gym had his wrestling career end tragically because of Gouriki crippling him in a brutal match, forcing the student into retirement.
Everyone who knows of Golem Gouriki is afraid of him because of this and this has resulted in no new fighters coming in to train at Koichiro’s gym. Despite this, Koichiro doesn’t want to give up, he wants to give the youth of today the inspiration to shoulder the future of Japan’s Pro Wrestling as a teacher and his dream was always to have his own wrestling gym. Despite the hardships he faces now, Koichiro eventually found Wrestler G in his action figure form and sensed a kindred spirit, now his dream to fight alongside him in the ring. Koichiro was once the masked wrestler Sunshine Mask when he was young and he wants to experience the feeling just one more time. Houtarou realized that his dream is a future alongside Chemies just like him and promises to protect the Asahi Gym.
Koichiro believes that in order for Houtarou to win, he must overcome Gouriki’s signature move, the Windmill Back Breaker. Houtarou suggests that he can do that if Koichiro trains him, but the former fighter is reluctant due to his age, so Wrestler G merges with him to rejuvenate his body. The kids don’t know what is going on, having never seen a pure merger of a Chemy and a human before since they normally create a Malgam.
The fused being enters the ring and encourages Houtarou to train with him as his tag partner. The young hero is amazed that a new possibility exists for humans and Chemy and accepts the challenge. They go through grueling sparring and training to try to find a way to defeat the Windmill Back Breaker, with Koichiro encouraging Houtarou to twist his body when Gouriki puts him in the hold to counter the attack. Despite multiple failed attempts, Houtarou’s classmates cheer him on and he refuses to give up, with Rinne even encouraging him by cheering him on. Houtarou charges at Koichiro, promising that this time he will defeat the move….
The next morning, Golem Gouriki enters the gym read to fight, eager to break the spine of “Baby Face” and then challenge Koichiro to a match, changing into the Gorilla Malgam again. Houtarou is ready for him this time as Wrestler G has been sealed, acknowledging him as his tag partner and synchronized with Antrooper. Houtarou thanks Koichiro for training him as he becomes Gotchard AntWrestler and Renge declares the fight a no time limit knockout match and rings the bell.
Gorilla tries to put his opponent in a hold and then a twisting wrist lock, but Houtarou breaks free and uses the ring ropes to his advantage to ricochet back from oncoming attacks, for jumping and propel Gorilla towards him to kick and elbow stamp him. Irritated, Gorilla prepares to execute the Windmill Back Breaker, but Koichiro shouts for Houtarou to counter and he does a full reversal that puts Gorilla in a rear twisting arm lock. Dumbfounded that his signature move was defeated, Gorilla is kicked aside. Koichiro gets pumped watching the match, saying it truly defines the intensity of wrestling and Wrestler G shares some of his power with his old tag partner to rejuvenate him to fight alongside the Kamen Rider in a tag match. Rinne is surprised, as the Chemy’s power capacity is exceeding what the Gotchardriver can hold.
Koichiro puts Gorilla in a rear twist lock while Houtarou strikes with a punch, the two then do a double elbow stamp to Gorilla’s back and finish with a double clothesline attack as Renge gets pumped from witnessing the action. Houtarou asks Koichiro if he can finish the fight, which the veteran fighter entrusts him to do as Wrestler G returns his power to the Driver and Koichiro tags out. Houtarou throws Gorilla against the ropes and executes his new wrestling drop kick finisher, the AntWrestler Fever, freeing Gorillasensei from Gouriki and sealing him in his Card.
Later, Mr. Minato has handcuffed Gouriki for the police and wiped away all his memories about the Chemy from his mind, then takes him to the arriving officers.
Houtarou wants to apologize to Koichiro for breaking up his tag team with Wrestler G, but the gym instructor doesn’t mind as Mr. Minato explained to him that more dangerous people than the Yakuza will come after the Chemy if he stays at Asahi Gym. He does feel a bit sad about the rules requiring him losing the memories of his friend and Rinne says they cannot bend those rules when Houtarou wants to object to this and starts to cry about breaking up a bond. But Koichiro says he will be fine and he can try again to train new wrestlers, laughing as he walks away. Wrestler G isn’t ready to say goodbye and tries to follow Koichiro, the latter tells him not to but thanks him for restoring his dreams as he walks into his gym and closes the door. Wrestler G starts crying as Houtarou takes him and thinks about the dreams of Koichiro in the ring.
