The Black Bodhi (黒の菩提樹, Kuro no Bodaiju) is a cult group that appeared in Gaim Gaiden: Kamen Rider Duke.[1] It later reappeared in the novel adaptation of Kamen Rider Gaim.
History[]
Black Bodhi was formed by Kugai Kudo and other members which were civilians that were brainwashed by the Zakuro Lockseed. He uses the civilians as self-destruct bombs and planned the attack on the Yggdrasill Corporation. Its warehouse has an artificial Helheim where the blank Zakuro and other artificial Lockseeds were made. After Kugai's demise, this organization became defunct and was never heard of again. However approximately a year later after Yggdrasill Corporation became bankrupt and the Helheim invasion ended, Black Bodhi secretly resumes operation, this time by the remnants of Yggdrasill according to Mitsuzane Kureshima. It has an unknown affiliation to Neo Baron, headed by Shura, who would eventually carry Kugai's legacy. Aside from creating their own Sengoku Drivers and Lockseeds for Neo Baron, they are also planning to enact the Saver System which will wipe out any unwanted humans who are not worthy, almost similar to Yggdrasill's Project Ark.

- Black Bodhi's logo vaguely resembles Kamen Rider Ouja's insignia (cobra).
- According to Jin Haganeya, he chose the Black Bodhi as the organization name is a correspondence with the Yggdrasill Corporation, since the Bodhi Tree in Eastern culture and Yggdrasill in Western culture are both their representatives.[2]
