Bat (バット, Batto) is a field captain in the Shocker ranks. He is responsible for the "recruitment" (abduction) of potential cyborg candidates. He is the only Shocker member depicted as being capable of flight.
History[]
His human identity is a man in a black cloak with high tension and eccentric behavior. His main mission is to abduct a cyborg candidate, and Hongo is also abducted by him. At the time of the final battle, Asuka, who was selected as a cyborg candidate, was taken to Shocker's base, but He is ultimately destroyed by Kamen Rider 1 and 2's Double Rider Kick.

Bat is a cyborg with an ability of bat, transforms by wearing a special reinforced suit and a mask. His suit is equipped with a wings, allow him to fly freely in the sky and perform reconnaissance using small robots Mecha Bat (メカコウモリ, Meka Koumori). It also has a stealth function by wearing a cloak.

Portrayal[]
The Bat was portrayed by Kanji Tsuda (津田 寛治, Tsuda Kanji), who previously portrayed Daisuke Okubo in Kamen Rider Ryuki. His suit actor was Makoto Arakawa (荒川 真, Arakawa Makoto).
Basis[]
Bat was based on Bat Man, who was the second kaijin to fight Kamen Rider in the original series. Unlike Bat, the original Bat Man did not fight Kamen Rider 2, as the latter had yet to be introduced in the series.
