Azuma (アヅマ ) is the main antagonist of Kamen Rider Revice: Battle Familia. He was a terrorist who allied with Chic and transformed into Kamen Rider Daimon (仮面ライダーダイモン, Kamen Raidā Daimon).
History[]
Background[]
Azuma was born in an ancient South American civilization with Hideo Akaishi about 3000 years ago. After Giff arrived on Earth, Azuma and Akaishi made a deal with the demon and obtained immortality. To set humanity on the right course, he assassinated numerous influential figures throughout history, but he also outlived many of his romantic partners. Devastated by humanity's ongoing wars, Azuma went into hiding soon after World War II and spent the following 80 years alone in the forest.
Birth of Chimera[]
In present day, Azuma's body began deteriorating following Giff's demise. He was tracked down by Hiromi Kadota and the two fought. Hiromi recognized him as the other man alongside Akaishi who formed a contract with Giff millennia ago. Azuma said he must lead humans down the proper path before knocking Hiromi unconscious. Azuma cut his hair with a knife and returned to the city. After observing Chimera's battle against an experimental demon, he followed Ryu Mukai to a laboratory.
Once Mukai left, Azuma confronted the lead doctor in charge, Masato Sotoumi, and fought against his lackeys Tony, Hakim, and Minami. He realized that Dr. Sotoumi was being manipulated by the demon Chic. The demon addressed Azuma, having learned everything about him from Akaishi's leftover data. Chic convinced Azuma to right humanity's wrongs by using Giff’s eyeball and the Chimera Driver to regain his immortality. He was later accompanied by Dr. Sotoumi’s lackeys to attack the city, acknowledging such bloodshed was necessary to lead humanity down the right path. He came across Nozomu Otani and his parents, luring out Ryu Mukai as planned.
After Azuma retrieved the Chimera Driver, he handed it to Chic to attach Giff's eyeball, then used it along with Tri Chimera Vistamp to become Kamen Rider Daimon. Mukai turned into a demon as a result of using the Chimera Driver and was destroyed by Daimon. Nozumu's parents also perish in the resulting explosion, with Azuma and his group leaving soon after. Arriving to Area 666, Chic guided Azuma to target the Igarashi family next, as they possessed Giff's genes. Azuma led the group to an airport as Genta and Yukimi Igarashi board the plane on vacation.
Kamen Rider Revice: Battle Familia[]
Azuma and his crew board the plane and hijack mid-flight. As planned, he captured Genta and Yukimi and the plane landed in Area 666. This drew the Igarashi siblings' attention, who engaged on a rescue mission to retrieve their parents and the other passengers. Expecting the three as formidable adversaries, Azuma transformed into Kamen Rider Daimon and was able to overwhelm them, as well as brainwashing their inner demons against them. Azuma later fought Ikki Igarashi one-on-one, the former revealing his intentions despite Ikki demanding Azuma to free the hostages.
He brought the entire Igarashi clan together to absorb their Giff cells. However, Nozomu Otami broke in and seized the Chimera Driver. After seeing Nozumu as Kamen Rider Chimera defeating the Mandrill Deadman, Azuma fought back to reclaim the belt. Despite this, the family were able to escape the laboratory with the rest of the plane passengers, through the assistance of Kamen Rider Geats.
With his immortality fading further, Azuma and Chic decided to block the escape route. He transformed into Daimon and attacked Revice Ptera Genome. He then engaged Ultimate Revice and outmatched the young Rider. However, the escape route for the passengers was secured due to the barrier being taken down by Orteca, who was equipped with another Chimera Driver that George Karizaki provided. The heroes' plan was working, causing Azuma to become depowered. He lamented to Ikki how he lost so many lovers due to living a long time.
- "Goodbye... my friend."
- ―Azuma's final words to Ikki[src]
At that moment, Ikki pointed out that Azuma had forgotten to enjoy life because of his immortality. Azuma was stamped with the Giffard Rex Vistamp, rejuvenating him so they could fight one last time. Azuma smiled and regained the feeling of enjoyment that he had long forgotten, leading to a one-on-one battle with Kamen Rider Revi. Finally, the battle ended in a draw after their finishing kicks collided. With Azuma's life fading, he entrusted humanity's future in Ikki's hands. After fist bumping Ikki, Azuma faded away along with his equipment and Giff's Eye.

Daimon's punching power and running speed are roughly equivalent to Ultimate Revi and Ultimate Vice, while his kicking power and jump height are significantly lower. Despite this, Daimon had the upper hand in his fight against the two until his own deteriorating condition incapacitated him. Daimon's abilities far outclassed most other Revice Riders at the time, as demonstrated when he was able to easily defeat Kamen Riders Revice, Live, and Jeanne in quick succession. The sole exception is Igarashi, who surpasses Daimon in all statistics apart from an equal running speed. In addition to his impressive strength and durability, Daimon can bring demons under his control, effectively neutralizing Riders who rely on their power. He can also create blasts of purple energy at close range.

- Unlike Akaishi, Azuma does not appear to display other supernatural powers such as teleportation or shockwaves. This may contribute with Akaishi operating much closer under Giff's servitude and upon their deaths, Azuma's immortality and strength had began to fade.
