Aruto Hiden (飛電或人, Hiden Aruto) is a 22-year-old aspiring comedian who became the CEO of Hiden Intelligence after the death of his grandfather. Originally uninterested in taking up the position, he became witness to the terrorist attacks committed by MetsubouJinrai.net and reluctantly became Kamen Rider Zero-One (仮面ライダーゼロワン, Kamen Raidā Zerowan) for the sake of pursuing his dreams of making others smile.

Due to manipulations of the timeline by the Time Jackers, Aruto lost the ability to transform during the attack by Another Zero-One, which resulted in him temporarily resorting to using a ForceRiser to transform into Kamen Rider 001 (仮面ライダー001[ゼロゼロワン], Kamen Raidā Zerozerowan).

History

Early Life

Aruto Hiden was born the grandson of Hiden Intelligence CEO, Korenosuke Hiden. His father, Soreo Hiden, passed away when he was young, so Aruto was raised by a HumaGear resembling his father to take Soreo's place as a parent and as emotional support.

Aruto and Soreo were present on the day of the Daybreak Town Accident, where they were enjoying a family outing with young Aruto spent most of his time engaging in comedic antics. When the chaos erupted from the Hiden Intelligence building, Soreo shielded Aruto from one of the explosions, but was grievously damaged in the process. In his final moments, Soreo encourages Aruto to continue pursuing his dream before his systems shutdown completely, leaving the young boy to grieve.

Becoming Zero-One

At the age of 22, Aruto is continuously struggling to hold his career as a comedian. After getting fired from his job at a theme park, Aruto was met at the park entrance by Izu, a secretary-type HumaGear who escorted him to Hiden Intelligence headquarters to discuss the wills of his late grandfather,

Brought before the executive committee, Aruto reads his late grandfather's wills and is shocked to discover that an imminent crisis involving the HumaGears will happen again, and the only way to combat against them is the Hiden Zero-One Driver, to be used exclusively by the succeeding president, whom his grandfather had named Aruto as. Although the entire board of directors were enraged by this sudden development, Aruto quickly turns down the role and excuses himself.

As Aruto goes back to the theme park in an attempt to beg for his job back, the Berotha Magia attacks the park, and Aruto attempts to stop it but is beaten senseless. After getting triggered from the Magia saying that human dreams were meaningless, Aruto re-stood his ground and asked the just-arrived Izu for the Zero-One Driver. Aruto's mind was then uplinked into the communications satellite Zea, where his mind processing speeds were enhanced to the point where he learns the entire Zero-One tutorial in five seconds. Aruto transforms into Zero-One and destroys the Magia henchman as well as the Berotha Magia. After his first battle, Izu reveals that by accepting the Zero-One Driver, Aruto had also accepted being the president. Originally being reluctant to do so, he was re-inspired after seeing the park manager be grateful for Zero-One. [I am the President and a Kamen Rider]

Being CEO of Hiden Intelligence

After Aruto and Izu arrive in Hiden Intelligence HQ, he was guided by Izu after she introduce herself as Aruto's HumaGear Assistant. Aruto was halted by Security-Type HumaGear but later is allowed in by Security-Type HumaGear.

Later, Izu takes an excited Aruto to CEO's office and give him first task as the new CEO is to welcome the representatives of A.I.M.S, a government special force for AIs. Yua Yaiba, head of R&D and Isamu Fuwa, the force's captain. Fuwa accuses Hiden Intelligence at covering HumaGears' rampage at the amusement park, but Aruto Deny all accusation with the help from Izu.

As Aruto tries to do his signature jokes, but as usual, it's so lame and no one is reacting, beside Fuwa that is seemingly shaken with anger. But, Their conversation is cut short when an intruder is detected inside the HQ.

Kuehne Magia attacking Hiden Intelligence and A.I.M.S. as Kuehne Magia tried to attack civilians but got protected by Security HumaGear. Aruto tried to transform into Zero-One, Kuehne Magia escapes using wings.

Aruto was taken by Fuwa to the rooftop and was explained by Fuwa about his hatred towards to HumaGears after Daybreak Town Accident, the same day that Aruto's father figure HumaGear, Soreo Hiden was destroyed after protecting him from an explosion. Later, Aruto search for Security HumaGear that protects the civilians before. Upon learning his name as Mamoru, Aruto tells him to search for maintenance as his body is wrecked by Kuehne Magia. But They didn't know that There is someone whom watching them.

During the second attack from Kuehne Magia, Aruto saw Jin standing with Corrupted Mamoru whom transform into Ekal Magia and was given order by Jin to kill Aruto. After he remembered the words of Izu during Ekal Magia's attack that a corrupted HumaGear cannot be restored to normal, Aruto then transform into Zero-One and overwhelms Ekal Magia, but Ekal Magia escape by using a hacked Motorcycle. Izu then tells Aruto about the RisePhone's ability to summon the Rise Hopper bike. After Zero-One scanned his RisePhone, a big replica of RisePhone fell from the Zea, and transformed into Rise Hopper. Zero-One chases after the Magia outside. He successfully thrown Ekal Magia from the bike, and they continue the fight in an empty dock.

Aruto then Destroy Ekal Magia by using Rising Kaban Strash, until he saw Fuwa as Vulcan from the hole of Vulcan's Shooting Blast as they saw each other before Aruto vanishes in the smoke.

The Next Day, Aruto alongside with Izu, introduce himself as the new CEO of Hiden Intelligence on the press conference and plays the recording from Izu about Jin and Metsubojinrai.NET, letting the press know about that terrorist organization. He also claims that HumaGears are developed by Hiden Intelligence to realize humanity's dream while looking at a new in-training security HumaGear resembling Mamoru. Until a journalist asked about Aruto's past job as a comedian, as Aruto performs his joke much to the confused press while destroying the serious mood. Fuwa is seen shaken, because he tries hard not to laugh at Aruto's lame joke before leaving. Izu also tried to explain Aruto jokes, much to Aruto protest. [Is AI The Enemy? The Ally?]

HumaGears Rampage Aftermath

Aruto's reputation as CEO of Hiden Intelligence has gone down after the HumaGear Massive attack at the Hospital, but later was involved with a drama television show with Enji Matsuda, Actor-Type HumaGear who was the star of the show alongside with Shinya Owada, a very well renowned actor. Aruto then convince Jun Fukuzoe to participate in the show, as Jun agreed with the invitation to participate in the show with a frown.

When Aruto was filming Drama alongside with the other cast, Izu tell Aruto about the MetsubouJinrai.net Attack with her pose and her hand sign, Aruto was shocked by Izu's words but instead surprised the crew with his reaction. Later, Aruto Join the battle after he was informed about Dodo Magia and transform into Kamen Rider Zero-One Rising Hopper to fight against Jin. As Aruto tried to use Attache Arrow to fight Jin, Attache Arrow was taken by Jin, but he later use his Freezing Bear Form to finish off Jin before Jin escaped. [I am an Actor, Shinya Owada]

Zero-One appears in Sougo's dream

During one of Sougo Tokiwa's dreams, he saw Black Woz introducing Kamen Rider Zero-One. He wakes up in a panic, claiming that Zi-O had disappeared in his dream and the new Rider had taken his place.

Zero-One later appears to face the heavily injured Kamen Rider Zonjis, introducing himself to be the only one for being the true first Reiwa Kamen Rider, Zero-One. Aruto fended off the Kasshines and defeated Zonjis easily by using his Rising Hopper and Flying Falcon forms.

Kamen Rider: Reiwa The First Generation

Due to the creation of Another Zero-One caused by Time Jacker Finis, Aruto cannot transform into Zero-One again. Thus, he is forced to use the ForceRiser to become Kamen Rider 001. Much to his shock, he is also forced to fight Soreo Hiden, his "father".

Personality

Aruto is a cheerful individual who loves to make people laugh, and doesn't give up even if he fails to do so. Despite this cheerful trait, he will not hesitate to fight back against people who threaten that happiness. To this end, he reluctantly becomes a Kamen Rider not to be a company president, but to be someone who can protect the peace.

Due to his upbringing, he has a very positive outlook on HumaGears, and strongly believes they can prosper alongside humanity. This makes destroying Magias difficult for him, especially if they were former Humagears he knew personally. He eventually accepts and gets past this weakness by the time he encounters Kobe Sakamoto.

Aruto also has a strong sense of empathy, shown towards Seiji Tazawa whom both had lost someone close to them and required a HumaGear to take their appearance for emotional support. To this end, Aruto was willing to put himself as a person first rather than immediately have Seiji arrested for breaking the law.

During mid-battles, he will say "There's only one person who can stop you, and that's me!" (お前を止められるのはただ一人…俺だ!, Omae o tome rareru no wa tada hitori, ore da!). Whenever he presents one of his comedic gags, he will end off with the phrase "Yes! It must be me, Aruto!" (はい、或人じゃないと!, Hai! Aruto Ja... Naito!).

Aruto also playfully refers to his Progrise Keys [i.e. he calls the Flaming Tiger Key and its corresponding animal "Tora-chan" (トラちゃん)]. This is very evident with Flying Falcon, where every time he meets Jin he will demand Jin to return "Tori-chan" (トリちゃん).

Powers and Abilities

With the Hiden Zero-One Driver equipped, Aruto's thought processes are exponentially enhanced, rivaling that of an A.I. supercomputer. This allows him to learn and analyze fighting techniques at a speed far beyond that of a normal human.

Weaknesses

  • Shining Hopper (Formerly): Shining Hopper uses a great portion of Aruto's strength and speed when fighting strong enemies, thus causing his body to strain afterward. When the form is used too long, he can no longer move and be forced out of his transformation. Aruto later overcomes this threat after learning the abilities of the Shining Assault Hopper form with no effort.

Rising Hopper (ライジングホッパー, Raijingu Hoppā) is Zero-One's grasshopper-based primary form accessed by using the Rising Hopper Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

This form focuses on jumping height and kicking power, outclassing all other Riders in this area.

Rising Hopper consists of the following parts:

  • Hopper Head (ホッパーヘッド, Hoppā Heddo) - The head.
    • Hopper Mask (ホッパーマスク, Hoppā Masuku) - Rising Hopper's faceplate. It protects the face and reproduces the capabilities of grasshoppers to extend the wearer's capabilities.
    • Zero-One Signal (ゼロワンシグナル, Zerowan Shigunaru) - The Zero-One system's control device. Located between the eyes. It has a role of controlling the signaling system for adapting to various Progrise Keys, matching and information transmission loss with the wearer, adjustment to close the ability extension to the theoretical value by checking such as defects is performed.

This form has three finishers:

  • Hiden Zero-One Driver finishers:
    • Rising Impact (ライジングインパクト, Raijingu Impakuto): Zero-One runs up the enemy and launches it up in the air via a kick before performing two powerful rider kicks: one to thrust the enemy back downward, and the other to destroy it.
  • Attache Calibur finishers:
    • Kaban Strash (カバンストラッシュ, Kaban Sutorasshu): Through the use of a Progrise Key, Zero-One can boost his Kaban Strash attack.
      • Rising Hopper​: Yellow cyber-like energy is emitted from the Attache Calibur's blade before Zero-One delivers two powerful slashes: a downward slash following a horizontal slash.
      • Biting Shark: Teal cyber-like energy and a series of teal energy shark fins are projected before Zero-One slashes the enemy.

Biting Shark (バイティングシャーク, Baitingu Shāku) is Zero-One's shark-based form, accessed by using the Biting Shark Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

Biting Shark is specialized for combat and movement in aquatic environments by minimizing water resistance. Because of this design, Biting Shark is much less agile on land, resulting in a substantial decrease in jumping height and running speed in comparison to Rising Hopper. Zero-One's punching and kicking power are also slightly decreased.

This form is equipped with the Unlimited Chopper (アンリミテッドチョッパー, Anrimiteddo Choppā), equipment on his forearms that can cut through almost anything.

Biting Shark adds the following parts:

  • Shark Head (シャークヘッド, Shāku Heddo) - The helmet.
    • Shark Antenna (シャークアンテナ, Shāku Antena) - The shark's fin/antenna. It is a device that maximizes Zero-One's sense of smell underwater, allowing him to detect odors from 100 meters away. On land, it acts as a radio communication device, utilizing a method that performs directivity control by changing the wavelength and phase of the radio wave.
  • Shark Mask (シャークマスク, Shāku Masuku) - Biting Shark's faceplate. Equipped with antennas, visual devices, and enhanced hearing devices, it protects the face and expands the user's combat prowess with emulated shark ability.
    • Shark Eyes (シャークアイ, Shāku Ai) - The two red compound eyes. Incorporated within it is a vast array of sensors of different types, including thermographic and X-ray sensors. When underwater, where light cannot be used as efficiently, Zero-One will experience difficulty in communicating with Zea, so to compensate for this, a virtual map based on nautical charts is developed.
    • Shark Side Fins (シャークサイドフィン, Shāku Saido Fin) - The 'shark fins' located on the cheek areas. The fins are sensors that collect environmental information, such as ocean currents, seawater temperature, seawater components, seawater salinity, seafloor topography, etc. and sends it to the Zero-One Signal.

A respiratory device dubbed Labyrith Lung (ラビリンスラング, Rabirinsu Rangu) is installed, allowing Zero-One to breathe by drawing oxygen from surrounding water. This makes it possible for Zero-One to dive 4000m deep. Additionally, it protects the wearer's chest and improves combat prowess by reproducing shark abilities.
  • Shark Shoulders (シャークショルダー, Shāku Shorudā) - The shoulders. In contains a built-in Field Skinner (フィールドスキナー, Fīrudo Sukinā) energy generator. Underwater, where resistance is greater than air, the Field Skinner expands the field around it into a streamlined shape. Resistance is reduced even further by mimicking the texture of shark skin. This results in protective shoulder armor that increases combat prowess through the replication of shark abilities.
  • Shark Gauntlets (シャークガントレット, Shāku Gantoretto) - The gauntlets. It has a sharp outward protruding blade, dubbed Unlimited Chopper (アンリミテッドチョッパー, Anrimiteddo Choppā), that can cut any object by reproducing the shape and ability of shark teeth.
  • Shark Legs (シャークレッグ, Shāku Reggu) - The legs. Adjustments have been made when transforming into Biting Shark in order to improve underwater mobility.
  • Shark Greaves (シャークグリーブ, Shāku Gurību) - The shin guards. Jet propulsion devices, dubbed Jet Hydras (ジェットハイドラー, Jetto Haidorā), has been built in, allowing Zero-One to swim at a maximum speed of 86 knots (159.272 km/h) by creating an ultra-high pressure vertical vortex flow to speed up propulsion. It can also increase the destructive power of kicks when underwater.

Flying Falcon (フライングファルコン, Furaingu Farukon) is Zero-One's falcon-based form, accessed by using the Flying Falcon Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

This form decreases Zero-One's kicking power and jump height compared to Biting Shark and Rising Hopper, bringing him more in line with the other Riders, along with a slight decrease in running speed and a slight increase in punching power. However, Zero-One's decreases in stats are offset by Flying Falcon granting him the ability to fly.

Zero-One temporarily lost access to this form after the Flying Falcon Progrise Key was stolen by Kamen Rider Jin, but later regained it after the latter's destruction.

Flying Falcon adds the following parts:

  • Falcon Head (ファルコンヘッド, Farukon Heddo) - The helmet.
    • Falcon Antenna (ファルコンアンテナ, Farukon Antena) - The Falcon's antenna. An active system is used that controls the directivity by changing the phase and wavelength. It also serves as a Pitot tube that measures airspeed.
  • Falcon Mask (ファルコンマスク, Farukon Masuku) - Flying Falcon's faceplate. Equipped with antennas, visual devices, and enhanced hearing devices, it protects the face and expands the user's combat prowess with emulated falcon ability.
    • Falcon Eyes (ファルコンアイ, Farukon Ai) - The two green compound eyes. A combination of image sensors of different methods in a compound eye shape, combined with image processing, can extract a variety of information including thermo and X-ray imaging. Flaming Tiger (フレーミングタイガー, Furēmingu Taigā) is Zero-One's tiger-based form, accessed by using the Flaming Tiger Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

Being one of Zero-One's most balanced forms, Flaming Tiger grants Zero-One an increase in punching power, jumping height, and running speed compared to Biting Shark and Flying Falcon but is still outclassed by Rising Hopper's kicking power and jumping height.

This form is equipped with the Panthera Burner (パンテラバーナー, Pantera Bānā), equipment that grants Zero-One pyrokinesis. It's also possible to temporarily increase the attack power of the punches, kicks, and finishers by spreading fire throughout the body.

Flaming Tiger adds the following parts:

  • Tiger Head (タイガーヘッド, Taigā Heddo) - The helmet.
    • Tiger Antenna (タイガーアンテナ, Taigā Antena) - The tiger's antenna.   • Tiger Gauntlets (タイガーガントレット, Taigā Gantoretto) - The gauntlets. They have a built-in Panthera Burner (パンテラバーナー, Pantera Bānā) which releases flames from the ports on the palms that can rise up to 1800°C. The user can also control the shape of flames forming a circle or a ring. This form grants Zero-One an increase in punching power, but a moderate decrease in all other stats when compared to Flaming Tiger.

This form is equipped with the Polar Freezer (ポーラーフリーザー, Pōrā Furīzā), a device that grants Zero-One cryokinesis.

Freezing Bear adds the following parts:

  • Bear Head (ベアヘッド, Bea Heddo) - The helmet.
    • Bear Antenna (ベアーアンテナ, Beā Antena) - The antenna. Its structure minimizes any radio wave attenuation due to rain, snow or any other weather phenomenon. It adopts an active method that controls a radio wave's direction by controlling its phase and wavelengths.
    • Bear Face (ベアーフェイス, Beā Feisu) - The sky blue mask. It protects the wearer's face by replicating a polar bear's abilities.
    • Bear Eyes (ベアーアイ, Beā Ai) - The two compound eyes. A combination of image sensors of different methods in a compound eye shape, combined with image processing, can extract a variety of information including thermo and X-ray imaging. It is also possible to use high altitude observation information from the communication satellite Zea as its own field of view. It has a built-in Polar Freezer (ポーラーフリーザー, Pōrā Furīzā) freezing unit that allows Zero-One to release a special freezing agent from his palms to freeze an opponent. Furthermore, by utilizing the Bear Claws (ベアークロー, Beā Kurō) at the fingertips, they can shatter frozen objects and tears through everything.
  • Bear Legs (ベアレッグ, Bea Reggu) - The legs. It boasts a maximum kick force of 31.9 tons due to it drawing out the user's physical abilities. The thigh armor adjusts the Rise Architecter so that it does not harden or break during extremely low temperatures, allowing it to exhibit the same performance as if it were in normal temperatures. In certain cases, the fluidity of energy may be maintained via supercooling.
  • Bear Greaves (ベアグリーブ, Bea Gurību) - The shin armor. It has a built-in icing device that can cool down the body's temperature that has been raised during a battle, prevent injuries, reduce muscle pain/fatigue accumulation, and take care of the wearer.
  • Bear Boots (ベアブーツ, Bea Būtsu) - Zero One Freezing Bear Boots. It is protected by armor composed of Hiden Alloy (which has a Knoop hardness of 8200) and can function as a spike by deploying its built-in Bear Claws (ベアークロー, Beā Kurō), allowing Zero-One to maintains the same running power even on frozen ground. When kicking, a destructive force that can tear a 2-meter thick iron block is applied, increasing destructiveness.

This form's finisher is the Freezing Impact (フリージングインパクト, Furījingu Impakuto): Zero-One places his hands together and produces a stream of coolant that encases the enemy in a block of ice. He then leaps at the enemy and delivers a downward slash with his right arm that splits the ice block and the encased target in two.

Breaking Mammoth (ブレイキングマンモス, Bureikingu Manmosu) is Zero-One's mammoth-based mecha form, accessed by using the Breaking Mammoth Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver and piloting a mech that forms part of Zea. Unlike with his other auxiliary forms, Zero-One is still in his normal Rising Hopper form inside the mech.

This form grants Zero-One a drastic increase in punching power and moderate kicking power at the cost of a large decrease in agility. Since Breaking Mammoth was developed to protect people from large-scale disasters, it has many functions as a rescue system.

Breaking Mammoth is made of Space Hiden Alloy (スペースヒデンアロイ, Supēsu Hiden Aroi), a special alloy that, when generated in space and converted into quantum particles, can increase its density and durability.

Breaking Mammoth is composed of the following parts:

  • Pithead (ピットヘッド, Pittoheddo) - The head module.
    • Zero-One Mammoth Antennae (ゼロワンマンモスアンテナ, Zerowan Manmosu Antena) - The antennae. It allows Zero-One to communicate with Zea. It operates independently from Breaking Mammoth itself to allow emergency braking operations.
    • Zero-One Mammoth Signal (ゼロワンマンモスシグナル, Zerowan Manmosu Shigunaru) - The red unit located between the eyes. It has a role of controlling the signalling system for adapting to various Progrise Keys, matching and information transmission loss with the wearer, adjustment to close the ability extension to the theoretical value by checking such as defects is performed.
    • Mammoth Eyes (マンモスアイ, Manmosu Ai) - The red compound eyes. It is a visual system that is also installed in 24 parts around Breaking Mammoth's body, allowing Zero-One to grasp the entire circumference of Breaking Mammoth via a 360° image information integration system that sends all information to Zero-One within the mecha.
  • Mammoth Breast (マンモスブレスト, Manmosu Buresuto) - The core body. Hybrid Rise (ハイブリットライズ, Haiburitto Raizu) is completed when Zero-One is stored inside. All piloting operations are formed via high-neuron connections that allow Zero-One's thoughts to move Breaking Mammoth. As a result, Breaking Mammoth can efficiently carry out multiple processes in a large-scale rescue operation, such as fieldwork, lifesaving, transport, etc.
    • Graingots (グレインゴット, Gureingotto) - The 'tusks'/scythe units stored on the Mammoth Breast. Thanks to special inbuilt chains, it can be used as a towing anchor or as tools for aircraft repair operations. By separating them from their electromagnetic joint connections, the Graingots can be used as handheld weapons or tools that can dismantle large structures with ease.
  • Ampoule Shoulders (アンプルショルダー, Anpuru Shorudā) - The shoulder units. It is composed of Space Hiden Alloy (スペースヒデンアロイ, Supēsu Hiden Aroi). A complex sensory device is installed within, and can detect light, ultrasonic waves, infrared rays, geomagnetism, etc. and essentially makes full use of os Zea's satellite equipment, radars and hearing equipment. Due to the necessity of having a wide area to better perceive objects on the ground, the sensory equipment are located on the shoulders (which are high above the ground).
  • Crawler Manipulators (クローラーマニピュレータ, Kurōrā Manipyurēta) - The arms. It is composed of Space Hiden Alloy. It's pressure dispersion exterior has a built-in vertical multi-joint and linear actuator drive that mimics the structure of a human arm, and can generate overwhelming power. Thanks to a high-neuron connection system that connects to Zero-One's Base Architecture bodysuit, Zero-One can move the arms just by imagining the feeling of arm movement. All these functions increase the user's combat prowess by replicating mammoth's ability.
    • Direct Tractors (ディレクトラクター, Direkutorakutā) - Tractor field generators located on the forearms. When the Mammoth Pressers are released, it controls them via a tractor field. Small debris and meteorites can be caught under the Direct Tractors' irradiation.
    • Mammoth Pressers (マンモスプレッサー, Manmosu Puressā) - The shields on the arms that take the form of gigantic replicas of the Breaking Mammoth Progrise Key. They are made of Space Hiden Alloy. They can be used to block/diverge landslides. By attaching the Mammoth Pressers to the legs, Breaking Mammoth can perform a special manoeuvre that maximises the weight and size of the Mammoth Pressers (seen during the Breaking Impact finishing move).
  • Press Knuckles (プレスナックル, Puresu Nakkuru) - The hand units. It can demonstrate a maximum punching force of 25.2 tons. The Press Knuckles can be used in operations that require large machinery such as shovel machines; as it only requires Zero-One's thoughts to move, the Press Knuckles can do such operations with ease, increasing the success rate of rescue operations.
  • Crawler Walkers (クローラーウォーカー, Kurōrā Wōkā) - The legs. Thanks to a high-neuron connection system that connects to Zero-One's Base Architecture bodysuit, Zero-One can move the arms just by imagining the feeling of leg movement. It's posture control system adapts an operating system dubbed "Postec Ver. 2.2" (ポステックVer.2.2, Posutekku Ver. 2.2) that controls Breaking Mammoth's linear actuator drives to adjust and stabilise the heavy machine's balance. The left and right shins house power units dubbed Rise Engine HD-6080 (ライズエンジンHD-6080, Raizu Enjin HD-6080) that supply all off Breaking Mammoth's power. They have jet engines (which work within and out of the atmosphere) that allow Breaking Mammoth to reach up to Mach 7 within the atmosphere when in jet form.
  • Mammoth Nails (マンモスネイル, Manmosu Neiru) - The feet. The claws on the tips are made of Space Hiden Alloy, which has the processing capabilities of six bulldozers, allowing Breaking Mammoth to perform walking operations on any road surface regardless of the road's condition. In jet form, the Mammoth Nails also function as a jet engine injection port.
  • Break Top (ブレイクトップ, Bureiku Toppu) - Jet Form's 'nosecone'. It is composed of Space Hiden Alloy. A special field generator dubbed Break Air (ブレイクエア, Bureiku Ea) is installed inside, improving the structural integrity Breaking Mammtoh requires when it is transformed into quantum particles by Zea. The Break Top suppresses sonic booms during high-speed flight, increasing speed and minimising the potential impacts caused by resulting shockwaves. In Mecha Form, the Break Top is located on the back.

This form's finisher is the Breaking Impact (ブレーキングインパクト, Burēkingu Impakuto): Zero-One launches one of the Mammoth Pressers into the air, followed by it projecting a larger energy construct of itself. He then leaps into the air and lands on the Mammoth Presser before using it to crush the enemy beneath him.

Shining Hopper (シャイニングホッパー, Shainingu Hoppā) is Zero-One's upgraded form, accessed by using the Shining Hopper Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

Compared to Rising Hopper, while Zero-One's jump height and kicking power haven't increased that much, his maximum running speed is nearly doubled, and he has more than twice the punching power. Also, according to Izu, this form's main ability is to simulate a variety of combat patterns, and go for the best possible one at the last possible second.

Initially, this form was deemed incomplete as it was unable to keep up with Aruto's growing combat potential. The insufficient combat data needed thus resulted in this form being only 1.8 times more powerful than Rising Hopper, as calculated by the Dodo Magia. However, after adding in the combat data from Zero-One's four auxiliary Progrise Keys as well as Wazu Nazotoku's central memory, Shining Hopper's power output is boosted, now being at least five times more powerful than his base form, as noted by Gai Amatsu.

While being more powerful than any of Zero-One's forms so far, using Shining Hopper demands a significant amount of Aruto's strength. Thus, Aruto may suffer fatigue after using this form.

The strain caused by this form is worsened when used multiple times consecutively, and may ultimately result in Aruto being forced out of his transformation. Although Aruto was able to overcome these problems over extended use of the form.

In this form, Zero-One wields the Authorise Buster.

Shining Hopper is composed of the following parts:

  • Shining Hopper Head (シャイニングホッパーヘッド, Shainingu Hoppā Heddo): The helmet.

In this form, Zero-One's punching power, kicking power, and jump height have all increased in comparison to Shining Hopper. However, this comes at the cost of his running speed, which is now equivalent to Vulcan Shooting Wolf. Unlike Vulcan Assault Wolf, Zero-One is able to use this form without his body being damaged.

Lightning Hornet (ライトニングホーネット, Raitoningu Hōnetto) is a theoretical form for Zero-One, accessed by using the Lightning Hornet Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

Zero-One can hinder enemies with quick acceleration and stopping power due to embodying the abilities of a hornet. The honeycomb-like chestplate functions as a weapon bay and is equipped with missiles that can lock on and destroy enemies with lightning strikes. The armor on his right leg can function like a drill, and can instantly destroy enemies with the drill needle at the tip of the foot. [16]

Gatling Hedgehog (ガトリングヘッジホッグ, Gatoringu Hejjihoggu) is a theoretical form for Zero-One, accessed by using the Gatling Hedgehog Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

The green armor embodies the abilities of a hedgehog. The sharp thorns all over the Zero-One's body is called PaiNeedle (ペイニードル, PeiNīdoru) that can damage enemies with a slight touch. During battle, the armor changes to a rounded shape dubbed Hedge Borer (ヘッジボーラー, Hejji Bōrā). Zero-One can jump at the target while rotating at high speeds and fire thorns from his body in all directions. [17]

Exciting Stag (エキサイティングスタッグ, Ekisaitingu Sutaggu) is a theoretical form for Zero-One, accessed by using the Exciting Stag Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

The orange armor embodies the abilities of a stag beetle and the exoskeleton-like structure strengthens increases arm strength and defense. When Zero-One is facing difficulty while fighting an enemy, the form activates it's "Exciting Mode" which draws out the user's fighting instinct and defeat the enemy with a vicious onslaught of attacks. Zero-One can also form a pair of blades called Scissor Stagger (シザースタッガー, Shizā Sutaggā) from his chest and grab enemies as well as slash them. [18]

The red armor embodies the abilities of a buffalo with thick armor on the legs creating thrust when charging. The feet are powerful enough to crush objects with a single blow. The horns on his head are called BulCrusher (バルクラッシャー, Barukurasshā) which can exhibit a tremendous amount of force during attacks. [19]

Trapping Spider (トラッピングスパイダー, Torappingu Supaidā) is a theoretical form for Zero-One, accessed by using the Trapping Spider Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

The purple armor embodies the abilities of a spider and allows Zero-One to make surprise attacks by allowing him to climb on walls without sound. Zero-One can deploy extra limbs from his arms and legs called Arakune (アラークネ, Arākune) to attack enemies. Zero-One can also create strong electromagnetic webbing called Calamity Territory (カラミティテリトリー, Karamititeritorī) from his armor to restrain enemies. Any enemy that enters the area covered by the webbing are immobilized due to the special current flowing through the webbing.[20]

The streamlined armor embodies the abilities of a penguin, and Zero-One can use the flippers on his feet named Pingstorm (ピングストム, Pingusutomu) to move quickly underwater and perform storm attacks on land. This form can blow away enemies with a storm that's comparable to a category 3 hurricane.[21]

This form's finisher is the Splashing Impact (スプラッシングインパクト, Supurasshingu Impakuto): A giant whale tail called Gigankitos (ギガンキトス, Gigankitosu) is formed using moisture in the atmosphere, which Zero-One then uses to smash enemies with great force.[23]

Amazing Caucasus (アメイジングコーカサス, Ameijingu Kōkasasu) is a theoretical form for Zero-One, accessed by using the Amazing Caucasus Progrise Key in the Hiden Zero-One Driver.

The armor is reinforced and embodies the ability of the Caucasus beetle, equipped with a hardened sap coating over the surface for defensing. Zero-One can create three giant horns called BitRise Horn (ビートライズホーン, Bītoraizuhōn) from the hardened sap stored inside, which he uses to pin enemies and crush them with tremendous power.[24]

This form's finisher is the Thousand Impact (サウザンドインパクト, Sauzando Impakuto)

Another Zero-One Watch (アナザーゼロワンウォッチ, Anazā Zerowan Wotchi): A twisted version of the Zero-One Ridewatch used to transform into Another Zero-One.


Relationships

  • Izu: Since Aruto becomes the new CEO of Hiden Intelligence, Izu serves him as his secretary. Izu provides Aruto with her vast knowledge of anything related to HumaGears and Hiden Intelligence, and they get along well. Aruto was initially bewildered if Izu tries to explain his lame jokes or even copying it, but now he seems to get used to it. Aruto views Izu more than as a Secretary. As shown when Aruto refuses to replace Izu with another Humagear and desperately tries to fix Izu. In return, Izu is deeply devoted to Aruto and provides invaluable help (such as personally delivering new Progrise Keys / Weapon) during battles.
  • Isamu Fuwa/Kamen Rider Vulcan: They both also have polar opposite views towards HumaGears. While Aruto views HumaGears as people who will help achieve humanity's dreams, Isamu views HumaGears as the enemy of humanity and even sees Hiden Intelligence to be real culprits behind the Daybreak Town Accident. However, Isamu is one of the very few people who find Aruto's lame jokes funny. After Aruto personally transforms into Zero-One in front of Isamu (despite Izu’s objections), his animosity towards the young CEO is lessened greatly. Despite this lessening animosity, the two still argue on how they view HumaGears.
  • Yua Yaiba/Kamen Rider Valkyrie: Aruto and Yua first meet during A.I.M.S. visit to Hiden Intelligence, and meet again at a sushi restaurant. Aruto was impressed by Yua since she was seemingly more adapted and civil with HumaGears, although after Nigiro turned into a Trilobite Magia, Yua showed disdain and exclaimed that HumaGears are just mere tools, a statement to which Aruto expressed much disagreement. Yua also secretly monitors Aruto for reasons related to the Daybreak Town Accident. After Yua left AIMS and rejoining ZAIA, Yua become much more colder towards the CEO.
  • Wazu Nazotoku: A detective who also served under Aruto's grandfather & Izu's older brother. He offers his help in clearing the company's innocence and later sacrifices himself to complete the Shining Hopper Progrise Key to its full potential.

  • Horobi: Aruto directly confronts Horobi after Little Assassin successfully assassinates Shinya Owada, thus changing the drama production views towards HumaGears. Aruto himself declares that he'll never forgive Horobi for his heinous acts.
  • Jin: Aruto first meets Jin after he transforms Mamoru into the Ekal Magia. Jin declares himself as the new ruler of the world, much to Aruto's anger. Aruto actually tries to reason with Jin after the latter damages Izu, arguing on why a Humagear like him decides to slaughter Humanity. However, seeing that Jin is beyond redemption, Aruto finally destroy him as Zero One Shining Assault Hopper.
  • Gai Amatsu/Kamen Rider Thouser: Gai is the CEO of ZAIA Enterprise. During their first meeting, Gai coerces Aruto to sold Hiden Intelligence to him, much to the young CEO shock. Gai also present during one of the Hiden press conference and decides to take over Hiden Intelligence in order to take care of the HumaGear problems without Aruto's concern, furthering their Animosity. In the end, Gai sees Aruto as an Idiot, mainly due to the latter overly positive views on Humagears.

  • Jun Fukuzoe: After Aruto was appointed as the new CEO of Hiden Intelligence, Jun becomes bitter and possessed a Inferiority Complex toward him. He even declares that Aruto had to step down from the CEO position immediately after the Kuehneo Magia rampage. Despite that, Aruto manages to somehow outsmart him by showing proof that Metsuboujinrai.NET was the culprit behind Magia rampages, much to Jun's dismay. From that point, Jun, along with Sanzo secretly wishes for Aruto to fail. This animosity and inferiority also shown when Jun didn't hesitate to physically abuses Aruto, and coldly coerces Aruto to replace Izu with a new Humagear. However, despite his hostility to Aruto, he will not hesitate to follow him if it benefits the company.

  • Soreo Hiden: Aruto's father. Aruto says that Soreo died when he was very young, so a HumaGear taking on Soreo's likeness was created to raise Aruto. The Humagear later broke beyond repair while protecting a young Aruto during the DayBreak Town Accident, an event that would greatly impact Aruto's positive view on the HumaGears as he grew older.
  • Korenosuke Hiden: Aruto's grandfather. As an adult, Aruto inherits Hiden Intelligence from him.

    Portrayal

    Aruto Hiden is portrayed by Fumiya Takahashi (高橋文哉, Takahashi Fumiya). His suit actor is Yuya Nawata (縄田 雄哉, Nawata Yūya), who took over the role as leading suit actor for the main Riders starting with the Reiwa era, succeeding Seiji Takaiwa. Nawata was previously the suit actor for Kamen Rider Genm, Kamen Rider Cronus (Taiga Hanaya), and most recently Kamen Rider Geiz.

    As the leading rider protagonist of Kamen Rider Zero-One, Zero-One is labeled Kamen Rider #36 (仮面ライダー36号, Kamen Raidā Sanjūrokugō) and Reiwa Rider #1 (令和ライダー1号, Reiwa Raidā Ichigō).

    Etymology

    With "zero" in Japanese and "one" in Japanized-English, Zero-One can be read as Rei Wan (零 ワン) in Japanese, referencing the fact that he is the Kamen Rider of the Reiwa era.

      • They are both the first Rider that debut in their representative era.

    • Zero-One Rising Hopper form's pose (after transformation) is similar to Kamen Rider Kuuga's pose[28]
    • Zero-One is the first lead Kamen Rider in over 30 years in a TV series that is entirely themed after a grasshopper, with the last one being Kamen Rider Black RX, not counting the grasshopper legs of Kamen Rider OOO, or the more subtle grasshopper motif of Kamen Rider Double (which is subordinate to his "W" motif and not explicitly identified by his transformation gear).
    • Coincidentally, Zero-One's base form and upgrade form use names announced by Decade's K-Touch in a Strongest Form variant for the first two Heisei Riders' Final Forms, Kuuga's Rising Ultimate Form, and Agito's Shining Form.
    • According to the first episode, Aruto is 22 years old, however his actor Fumiya Takahashi is 18 years old.
    • Aruto shares some similarities with Rentaro Kagura and Rento Makina, Kamen Riders who also appeared in Sougo Tokiwa's dream like him.

    • Aruto's "failure to make people laugh" gag is similar to Nobuharu UdoIcon-crosswiki from Zyuden Sentai KyoryugerIcon-crosswiki.
    • Zero-One is the only rider to have his armor disfigured instead of being replaced while accessing a new base form.
    • Zero-One's Breaking Mammoth form is the first Mecha form on Reiwa Era and the first since Maximum Gamer and God Maximum Gamer to have a giant Robot as a Mecha Form.
    • Zero-One's Flaming Impact is very similar to Kamen Rider OOO's Gush Cross as it involves them going through a ring/rings before slashing their enemies with their claws.
    • Zero-One's theoretical Amazing Hercules form bears a resemblance to Kamen Rider Blade, mainly his Ace Form. Other than their same motifs, Zero-One's head crest and shoulderpads are reminiscent of Blade's.
    • Kamen Rider Zero-One Rising Hopper's color scheme is similar to the Phymateus leprosus or Milkweed Grasshopper, a Toxic Grasshopper that can be found in South Africa.
    • Kamen Rider 001's suit reuses the chest armor of Horobi/Jin, the undersuit, leg armor, and abdominal armor of Night Rogue, and the armor on the arms from the Nebula Hell Bro's. The only original elements are the helmet and Restrain Cables added to the thighs.
    • Kamen Rider 001 strongly parallels Kamen Rider Super Dead Heat Drive, both being makeshift forms that the protagonist Riders are forced to access via an alternative transformation device due to losing access to their primary transformation gear, resulting in a form that repurposes villains' suits as a dark version of the main Rider, and slightly changing the proper name of the Rider.
      • 001's name is also a nod to the codenames of the 00 Cyborgs from Shotaro Ishinomori's Cyborg 009 and even shares the name with Ivan Whisky/Cyborg 001 from the same manga.
    • Part of Shining Assault Hopper's trasnformation appears remeniscent of the way the Kachidoki Arms would be equipped in Gaim, with both having an augmented version of the rider's base motif unfold before planting itself on the rider's undersuit
